Judge George Greer ruled that the State of Florida has no right to take custody of Terri Schiavo, which ruling came hours after an appeal by Terri's parents to re-insert the feeding tube was refused by the U.S. Supreme Court.
Meanwhile, another hearing was scheduled tonight before US District Judge James D. Whittemore .. the same judge who previously heard and denied the request subsequent to the 'de novo' intention of the law past last weekend by the Congress and signed by President Bush, in an effort to confirm that no stone was left unturned before Terri would endure legally sanctioned dehydration until death.
We are plunging new depths of evil.
Yep, woke up one day and there it was...AmeriKa...and a hard fight is upon us...but I have enough scotch irish in me to HAVE to try....
It's funny....but when I was a liberal (God forgive me), I thought America was messed up pretty bad... now that I'm conservative.. I still think we're messed up pretty bad.. just in a different way than I thought before...
Thank you. That is very comforting.
"but I have enough scotch irish in me to HAVE to try...."
LOL...you too eh? add some Cherokee to that mix and you have one angry lady here...
There was also a woman who wanted a restraining order placed on her husband. Greer refused stating the husband wasn't a threat. A couple days later, her husband killed her. That was discussed on these threads a long while back but there was a picture of the woman's friend yesterday with a sign to that effect at the hospice. Greer has a habit of this.

LOL.....sad though
We DID have our children in public school at one time. There was no dealing with it much less changing it when the kids were there. We saw too much. The final straw for us (one of many straws) was when my oldest came home with an assignment to "write a witch's spell" in honor of the release of the latest Harry Potter movie. This assignment is one he got from his MATH TEACHER who proclaimed himself to be a practicing Pagan to the class. That was enough for us to know we could not change a damned thing there.
Funny what wisdom comes with time and experience and hard knocks...
In fairness to Michael, that may or may not be true. There is some question as to the accuracy of the transcript. Someone who saw the original broadcast confirmed it accurate, someone who saw the later broadcast said an "I've" in the transcript was so clearly "they've" that the transcript was clearly in error. Then the person who had taped the original broadcast said it was somewhat ambiguous. Strange. Wish I had tapes of both broadcasts to compare.
I wonder. We've already murdered more than 30 million Americans in the womb...the evil is just coming to light in a more graphic way in Terri. God has shown remarkable restraint and mercy to us. Now we see it for what it really is.
I tell you, I have been so supportive of our going into Iraq. I have been a strong supporter of our liberating the Iraqi people. I have stood TALL and STRONG against anyone even remotely suggesting that we should not risk our young men for the freedom and liberty of Iraq and America. BUT I SERIOUSLY wonder now , FOR WHAT?? for THIS?? is this what the IRaqi people are going to liberate themselves to?? allowing a " new judicial system" to just legislate what Sadaam Hussien was dictating? Seems to me that would just be a transfer of power of death to the judical.
Sorry but I am just needing to let it all out and vent this morning........
"Why didn't Gibbs bring up the new evidence by DCFS?"
I haven't read it yet, but it's appalling if that material wasn't presented. News clips I've heard indicate Whittemore didn't like some of Gibbs' terminology (eg. murder). For Terri's sake, HE SHOULD HAVE PLAYED TO HIS AUDIENCE!

*Yikes*!!!!
You're right.
I've been conflicted about this for the last while, and while I still hope and pray that he will take her into custody, I also realize that he doesn't have the luxury that Janet Reno had in having the courts on his side. He could do that, yes, but it will still go back to the courts, and the courts have proved that they are using this case to show who is in control.
It's a sad, sad day, on many fronts. This case is just showing us how convoluted and evil our system has become.
May God have mercy on America.
I am here in spirit guys but I have a deadline and have to work several hours. I know this thread will be in the 1000's when I get back. "That's good thing"!
My prayers to all who have kept me balanced and focused this past week.
I read more than I post, so you guys have become special to me!
I will check back in later.
My heart goes out to the Schindlers, especially today.
Jesus Wept
Cherokee, Irish, German here.
And I'm in a fanny-kicking mood. I'm still praying, but I'm sooooo angry.
God may be having mercy on America now by showing us the evil and telling us to get with it. We didn't recognize the horrors going on quite so clearly before.
