We DID have our children in public school at one time. There was no dealing with it much less changing it when the kids were there. We saw too much. The final straw for us (one of many straws) was when my oldest came home with an assignment to "write a witch's spell" in honor of the release of the latest Harry Potter movie. This assignment is one he got from his MATH TEACHER who proclaimed himself to be a practicing Pagan to the class. That was enough for us to know we could not change a damned thing there.

*Yikes*!!!!
Besides having done both homeschooling and private schooling, my husband's family have another way.. becoming teachers in public schools.. through the grace of God, they have been allowed to tell the truth! One teaches history and teaches ACTUAL history! One is blessed with the gift of languages and works in LA, he has become so invaluable to the school district that they allow him to teach truths instead of lies.. little miracles happen everywhere, every day...
We had a sophomore english teacher at our school that had kids drawing pictures of mandalas in class. She had the kids draw pictures to illustrate the play Antigone. Kids were drawing pictures of dead people with vultures plucking their eyes out. The teacher did not correct grammar or spelling in the captions but complained that some kids didn't use vivid enough colors in their pictures.
This is one tiny example. That school also celebrates "day of the dead" and sets up alters around the campus for kids to walk to to get their exercise. When they get to the alter they are supposed to give a speech for any of the students who died that year. The campus teaches the UN humanist curriculum and the teachers are sick sick sick or outright communists. One teacher is the editor for a communist newspaper and his entire social studies class centers around the collectivist movement in the United States.
Don't get me started on how a "student" could possibly write a "witch" spell that actually worked (as if) since he's obviously not a witch but whatever. But, why didn't he just write a spell to turn the teacher into a frog? Better yet, to a frog cubed?
