Judge George Greer ruled that the State of Florida has no right to take custody of Terri Schiavo, which ruling came hours after an appeal by Terri's parents to re-insert the feeding tube was refused by the U.S. Supreme Court.
Meanwhile, another hearing was scheduled tonight before US District Judge James D. Whittemore .. the same judge who previously heard and denied the request subsequent to the 'de novo' intention of the law past last weekend by the Congress and signed by President Bush, in an effort to confirm that no stone was left unturned before Terri would endure legally sanctioned dehydration until death.
Remember the fall of the Roman Empire?
Is the fall of the American Empire next?
Doesn't history always repeat itself?
Amen!
They failed to follow through and devastated us all.
For our children and grandchildren we CANNOT let this drive us away from the participation in our government--it should drive us to do MORE to involve ourselves in the choices that are made....
Our "patriotism" is needed more now than ever---we still have so many soldiers fighting their hearts out for the freedom over in Iraq, the least we can do is fight as hard as we can for the freedom here in America...right?
Michael clearly hates Terri. HATES her. And hates her family.
Why else would he deny Terri fresh air, TV, radio music, walks outside in the sun, therapy, hope?
Why else would he even deny her parents her beaten dead body once this sham is over?
(I know.... it's rhetorical. Just had to vent.)
So? I may or may not be back......
If not, Have a Blessed Easter everyone!!!
Our Father,
We commit your servant Terri into your warm and loving hands. Our hearts are saddened because so many people have fought this tyranny on behalf of Terri to no avail. Help us to not rail against those "who could have done more". We know that you could have overruled this process at any time, but you have chosen not to do so. And so..we must conclude that you have some greater purpose in this for so many of us who have watched this event with grieving hearts. Help us Father to take away from this what you want us to learn---already we have learned so much about the cruelty and depravity of man and the need for your saving grace. Now help us to see how Terri's life (and dying) have also brought glory and honor to you. What impact Terri has had on so many who have discussed the ramifications of death, dying, and eternity! Let us rejoice in this knowledge--that someone others say has "no purpose to continue in this life" has indeed served a glorious higher purpose. Oh yes, Terri is "much more than a vegetable"! What a great God you are to confound the wisdom of "this world" by making this so beautifully seen! Help us to focus this Easter on your power to resurrect the dead and to look forward to that time when we can see Terri in a perfect body with no more pain. Comfort her biological family as well as her spiritual family and help us to remember the words of the psalmist who said to believers that "weeping may endure for a night, but joy cometh in the morning."
In Jesus name, I pray...
Couldn't have said it better myself---rant away, friend!
I was just questioning my own patriotism at this moment.. and I had a flash... we've always said no matter what, this is still the greatest country in the world, we still have it better than everyone else.. then I thought about it.. it isn't really about how much we have, or think we have, or how good we think we have it freedom wise.. Satan lurks in every country and corner of this world.. we are no more immune to his lies and mischief than anywhere else.. he is here.. always has been.. every human that doesn't keep guard and devote themselves to putting God above all is susceptible to his guiles.. from the laborer to the President..
Your dad and my dad must have spent some time together!! My father often would say not to worry near as much about invasion from the outside . Rather be concerned about corruption from the inside. Guess they weren't too far off base. We are witnessing it before our very eyes. Glad my dad is in Glory with Jesus. This would have broken his heart.
Sadly, history does repeat itself.
I just heard on the radio that Terri's parents are hoping for an Easter miracle.
I just e-mailed the Bush brothers and asked them to do God's will on this Easter day.
Amen and amen.
God Bless you BG... you always bring such thoughfulness to the threads you post on...thank you for posting the prayers and your calmness in the midst of this stormy time...
Have a truly Happy Easter!
This is so so tragic. I grieve in my soul because I have to agree with you.
true.. but somehow.. I'm wanting it to be over.. I'm wanting to go Home and be with my true Family.. don't mistake this for a depressed suicidal thing.. more like a simple Christian wish for better days ahead..
I think we can e-mail all we want but the Bush ears are deaf to what we have to say. I don't know if it is polls or what the reason is, but they are not hearing us. Their hearts are hardened.
I just heard on radio: Terri's dad humbly asked the crowd to
spend Easter at their homes, with their families.
They responded, "We are at home. We are with family".
OH Grammy! Hugs and kisses and BLessed Easter if you don't get back here!
Blessing to you Brad's Gramma. May the Risen Christ give us comfort tomorrow that "BECAUSE HE LIVES, WE CAN FACE TOMORROW"..............
