TAMPA, Fla. (AP) A lawyer for Terri Schiavo's parents says an appeal to try to keep the brain-damaged woman alive has been filed with the U.S. Supreme Court.
He has even less physical mobility than Terri, and (like her) takes all his nourishment through a feeding tube.
Obviously, then: he needs to die.
I don't know what, but SOMETHING has to be done to reign it in...and that includes the other two branches growing some NUTS.
Excellent Point!
Someone, today, said that Jeb can make Terri a ward of the State.
That reminded me that the State of California is ward over a lot of kids in detention centers. At least that's the way I remember it.
Well now the lawyer has finally got around to arguing to SCOTUS that killing Terri without her consent is a denial of due process, and per the new law, Terri has a right to have that one adjudicated, even though it is not in the complaint. As I keep saying, mal ...... . Almost certainly, too little, too late. The lawyer simply isn't generating the requisite paper, where and when required. SCOTUS is going to be loathe to slap down the lower courts for errors not of their own making. An American tragedy.
Sadly, I think everything you say is true.
Consultation in circumstances like this one is done by phone, and takes only a matter of hours. There'll be a decision by tomorrow.
The legal mind-f-----g continues, the clock ticks. David Boies lost his last three big cases (Bush v. Gore, Microsoft and Napster.) We must stop worshipping these false idols, starting with celebrities and lawyers.
Our work as Americans is cut out for us and by the doings of Americans not foreigners.
UNLESS there is evidence to believe that the legal guardian may be responsible in part or in full for endangering the life of the person in question.
From the statute itself (emphasis mine):
If the vulnerable adult's caregiver or guardian is present, the protective investigator must seek the caregiver's or guardian's consent pursuant to subsection (4) before the vulnerable adult may be removed from the premises, unless the protective investigator suspects that the vulnerable adult's caregiver or guardian has caused the abuse, neglect, or exploitation.
The Court acts on the merits of the plea. I am sure the plea is not the same as before. New evidence has surfaced. The House has added their Amicus brief and I am sure there is plenty of lawyers who know the Court this time. Pray!
Decline. He did it before. However that does not matter. Terri WILL not get a stay from the US Supreme Court. The left has put the Bush brothers on the spot. Do they act to save Terri and thus face possible impeachment or let Terri be murdered and pi** off their Conservative base which it will. Again the Left, Democrats are Crafty coldblooded Nazis.
JUdging by how rabbidly these ghoul judges want to kill her, she is no doubt an enemy of the state ....Gitmo sounds fair and equitable to me beats Pinnellas County.
May This be a Thomas More Moment for Catholic Jeb Bush
NO WAY!!!!! I thought I heard him starting to come around today, but didn't listen to all of it. Is this true?? I was so disappointed in him, believing he was too invested in the System, etc. Wow.
That's exactly what I am thinking. Terry will die so that from now on, nobody else in her condition is treated the same way. My guess is that now the life-death matters will be better regulated, and not live them to the discretion of judges.
He should have done so WEEKS and WEEKS ago!
I wonder about Gibbs; I heard that in his pleadings in Atlanta that he said if the courts go against the Vatican that Terri would be damned to hell.
And if we want to continue to act as moral arbiters throughout the world, we must clean up shop here at home.
