A Few of FR's Finest....Every Day
Free Republic made its debut in September, 1996, and the forum was added in early 1997.   Over 100,000 people have registered for posting privileges on Free Republic, and the forum is read daily by tens of thousands of concerned citizens and patriots from all around the country and the world.
A Few of FR's Finest....Every Day was introduced on June 24, 2002. It's only a small room in JimRob's house where we can get to know one another a little better; salute and support our military and our leaders; pray for those in need; and congratulate those deserving. We strive to keep our threads entertaining, fun, and pleasing to look at, and often have guest writers contribute an essay, or a profile of another FReeper.
On Mondays please visit us to see photos of A FEW OF FR'S VETERANS AND ACTIVE MILITARY
If you have a suggestion, or an idea, or if there's a FReeper you would like to see featured, please drop one of us a note in FR mail.
We're having fun and hope you are!

At last! Spring arrived this weekend! Springtime is associated with rebirth and a new beginning. Nature awakens in spring, when flowers bloom and hibernating animals leave their winter sleeping places. In most of America, fields of yellow and purple and blue and pink and white are popping up everywhere, and trees are bursting into sweet-smelling blooms of color. It's a beautiful sight to behold ~ God's green earth!

Ah, Spring.....birds are singing, days are getting longer, spring fever's setting in, and love is in the air.....

I thought that spring must last forevermore
For I was young and loved, and it was May.

~ Vera Brittain, English writer, poet, pacifist ~
"May Morning," St. 4 (May 1916),
"Poems of the War and After," 1934.

Apologies to those of you who are still getting fresh snow and freezing temperatures if it seems we are rubbing it in, but ... ahem...I also have a head start on Spring Cleaning, so maybe I am gloating just a bit. :)

Mornin' Billie.

Spring has indeed arrived. Got a start on the yard work, the leaves are appearing on the former barren trees, flowers in bloom, spring cleaning well underway. Rain and wind outside, but it's a beautiful day.

From one of our lilac bushes...

ROFL!!!!!!!!!!

The wind has shifted, so I needed to close the front door........there is only so much of the aroma of bovine manure I am interested........especially when it is also coming in with a temperature of only 46!!!!

Now, if I could just convince them to toss an excess they have on my back field...............

Thankfully.

this has to have been one of the worst winters I remember.......and it's got nothing to do with Virginia weather - but just weather in general.

Good morning and happy spring! We're having a lovely sunny, warm day here in the Upper Ohio Valley, but the rest of the week looks colder and wet. Oh well. Patience!

I'm having more good days than bad now. Which is a big plus. Holidays are gonna be rough for awhile though.

Thanks for the reminder Billie and it was so beautifully done. It's cold and rainy here today but at least I got home from my little trek before the rain moved in.

Happy Springtime!

Good afternoon, othuh sistah d. :) Got sidetracked just before lunch and only now getting back. Got your FR mail. I finally have my password to domania, but had to call because emails weren't getting the job done!

Now, quit that even *hinting* at itching and poison oak, you hear?! I'm glad you like the thread. :)
