At last! Spring arrived this weekend! Springtime is associated with rebirth and a new beginning. Nature awakens in spring, when flowers bloom and hibernating animals leave their winter sleeping places. In most of America, fields of yellow and purple and blue and pink and white are popping up everywhere, and trees are bursting into sweet-smelling blooms of color. It's a beautiful sight to behold ~ God's green earth!

Ah, Spring.....birds are singing, days are getting longer, spring fever's setting in, and love is in the air.....

In my travels later today I have to pick up more potting soil and hubby promised to retrieve from the barn all my planting stuff while I'm at a meeting tonight..........I am going to get into major seed starting mode tomorrow!

I finally "retired" from Delaware politics last November, something for which my husband is so grateful that he doesn't mind that I have dove right into Virgginia politics!!!!!

Of course he would be MUCH happier if I was earning something for it.........but bless his heart, he understands my reasons, probably even better than I do. Of course one of my main reasons for being active is the blue-eyed blond on my profile page.

We are fighting the good fight, not just for my kids but for the very survival of Western New York.

My oldest son goes to college next year, where will he find a job? Not in New York.

How ironic that I have been offered work in Virginia again..
But I am here for the fight, I just may have to travel for an income, there is no work here in construction.......

Each state seems to be troubled by problmes. the universal conscious of good is struggling against graft, good ol boys & tradition in many citites & states. I started fighting long before I ever became a parent, that has just given me even more incentive.

I am sorry to hear there is no work for you in your area. Most of my friends in the industry here have more work than they can handle, and this is one of the poorest counties in Virginia. One friend and I have been discussing the idea of a temp agency geared towards providing day labor for small contractors. while I'm doing the research on the paperwork end, he's talking with contractors to guage the interes.

You really enjoy gardening and growing your own vegetables - wish I did, because there's nothing like the taste of fresh tomatoes and okra and green beans and corn from a home garden - I just don't like to take care of one - or wash and prepare the vegetables. :(

I got majorily funked out last year because I lost so much to all the rain we had...........and the rest to the deer population. But I am ever the optimist......or is that glutton for punishment..... and intend to plant even MORE this year.

It's not yet 50 outside, but I've got my front door open listening to the sound of the equipment working the field across the road from me.............the sound of farm equipment is music to my ears.

So many of my friends think I'm really weird, but of course they are people I grew up with who never left New York City or it's environs. This city girl has always been a country girl at heart.

Of course I'm also a capitalist - and hope to turn some of the labor into $$$$$$$$
