Fulton Co. Judge shot and killed in courthouse shooting (BREAKING Fri 9A)
WAGA-TV/WSB-TV Atlanta | 3.11.05

Posted on 03/11/2005 6:39:06 AM PST by mhking

This is a breaking news situation.

A man entered a courtroom in the Fulton County Courthouse this morning and shot a Fulton County Sheriff's deputy, a clerk and a judge; there are reports from both WSB and WAGA, the judge is deceased.

The perp has carjacked multiple vehicles -- now on his third -- and is still at large.

I've just come from downtown Atlanta, and the city is a madhouse.

Atlanta Channel 11 (on the net) is still reporting lockdown at some schools and is talking to a school district administrator (Joe ??) now. He is reporting normal classes in remaining schools in lockdown and others no longer on lockdown. You may have some incorrect information -- possibly only some schools are having an inservice day.

Kids are out today in Cobb for a teacher work day. My wife, the "Teacher of the Year" at the government school where she teaches, is at the meeting.

TX, has a rap sheet a mile long. Charged with rape, having a machine gun and some other charges togo with it. He won't be taken alive. I bet.

If I told you to stop breathing would you? If I shot you in the heart would you probably die?

Has anyone said what the perp was in the courthouse for?

He was on trial for rape. He had been out on bail though, not in the lockup.

Strange that he would not jump bail, and then go berserk in the courtroom.

The reaction to close the schools makes me wonder if perhaps the girlfriend works in the school system...

They're throwing everything they've got, but I don't think they know for sure what car he's in.

Gal who lost her weapon to the perp is out of surgery and alive.

Could you please confirm this? The deputy whose gun was taken by the perp was a woman???

I hadn't heard it was a female.

Apparently, I wounded the sensibilities with my comments. Thanks for the ping anyway

Your comments about the judge were outrageous.

And more, you completely disregarded the cold-blooded shootings of the deputies and the court-reporter (got any mitigating comments applauding her murder?), in addition to the assaults on the multiple car-jacking victims this criminal has committed.

You more than "wounded sensibilities". You disgraced yourself.

Did the perp have a previous criminal record?

Indeed he did. It appears he may have begun his life of crime by driving around with expired tags. If so, you can all watch for me in the news very soom.

I hear you. I'm being sued because a drunken drugged up moron tried to grab a less that one day old puppy from it's mommy. The kicker is that it's not even my dog!

Speak for yourself.

I'm still at the office....don't get too far ahead of me.

If the professors and students will just hurry up and leave......Spring break here can officially start.

State Troopers will bust you on a good day for speeding 1 mph over the limit. Hope they are in a bad mood today.

"The weekend's here, have a can of beeeer!"

Alright, it's lunchtime here at the ol office space. Hopefully when I return they'll have caught the guy.

What a nightmare for her. I can't imagine living with the knowledge that your mistake led to the deaths of (at least) three others. Terrible.
