Is it time for a March on the SCOTUS and the Judiciary and the Senate?

Is it time for a March on the SCOTUS and the Judiciary and the Senate?

Are you as fed up as I am over the bad decisions being handed down by the SCOTUS and throughout the judiciary? Are you tired of judicial activism? Are you tired of being ruled by the men in black robes? Is it time to remind the SCOTUS that We The People ARE the final arbiters of law and justice in this land?

Are you fed up with the weak-kneed Republican Senate? Are you ready to drop the nuclear option on the obstructionist Democrats? Are you fed up with Specter and the RINOs?

Is it time for us to rise up and march on Washington again? How many of you are willing to join me in another march to D.C. to straighten out these yahoos and remind them of who's in charge in this republic?

If they can do it in Lebanon, we can do it here!!

"We'll be marching on the judges, the Senate, the House and the POTUS. Lord knows we have plenty of grievances. They will all hear our wrath!"

Revising and extending my remarks, this march would basically be a march against judicial activism and for a return to "constitutional" government. We need and deserve and expect a judiciary that respects the Constitution and the original intents of the framers.

We need a return to a full separation of powers and a halt by all three branches of government from overstepping their constitutional bounds. We need to demand a return of the powers not delegated to the federal government by the Constitution to the states and to the people.

We need a senate that respects the Constitution and the Republic and does not forget the fact that at a major part of their duty is to represent the interests of the sovereign states to the federal government. Their job is to defend the Constitution and the Republic and the STATES and NOT to usurp powers retained by the states and we the people.

This march will be on the SCOTUS, on the Senate, on the House, and on the POTUS. I include the POTUS because he campaigned on the pledge of judicial reform. I know that he champions this idea and is the person who will have to ramrod it through. He has the political capital to see it done and NOW is the time.

I would like the POTUS to know that we back him 100% in the area of judicial reform and that it is our number one issue (after national defense) and we expect him to follow through all the way. We will not tolerate delays or shirking of duties or compromises or failures in this endeavor. We the people deserve and expect and demand constitutional government and will settle for nothing other!

We know the president wants this action and we are here to back him to the hilt!

I agree...and that's why it is important that we support those who are working on our behalf. Tom Feeney is a relative newcomer, but he has been on the frontline's since he's been there. I don't know if there's a Senate equivalent, yet...but this is something we should push for.

Feeney just said (on my radio station) that he has plenty of support in the House, but that he may not be able to get it passed the Judiciary Committee. Here's a snippet of the original Bill, which he just revised today (from more than just a "sense") since this latest decision:

H.Res. 568, Reaffirmation of American Independence Resolution.

"Expresses the sense of the House of Representatives that judicial determinations regarding the meaning of U.S. laws should not be based on foreign judgments, laws, or pronouncements unless such foreign judgments, laws, or pronouncements are incorporated into the legislative history of laws passed by the House and Senate or otherwise inform an understanding of the original meaning of U.S. laws."  More...

I second that motion, but I would have expect John Cornyn -- former state Atty. Gen., former State Supreme Court Justice, and a Texan to boot!

Rush was saying yesterday that "the republican" who steps up and defeats the dems in the judicial nominee battle - will be a hero to the repubs and will be the #1 candidate for 2008.

He challenged Frist to step up and take the lead. I don't see that happening .. but I'm emailing all of them to get off their blessed assurance and take control of the Senate.

I'm from PA and Scottish law prevents me from attending. I called Arlen's office in between his chemo treatments which are rumored to change him to a conservative.

Legislation? Hell! I wish we could have a constitutional amendment.

The Supreme Court, the subsidiary courts in the Federal system, and the state courts shall base no decision, in any case based on any international treaty, court decisions of foreign countries, or on any document or procedure from any international body consisting of such countries.

The court also will not base any future decision, based on any decision made before the adoption of this amendment which would violate the above clause if it were made subsequent to the adoption of this amendment.

Congress shall have the power to enforce this by appropriate legislation.

AMENDMENTS TO THE AMENDMENT?

BTW, Jim, this is one demonstration in DC I would go to (from my far-away home in Calif). My #1 reason for voting *Bush* in 2000 was to remake the courts. We cannot fail him in his nominations.

yep, he echoed that sentiment again today.

I think he may be right. If Frist would actually grow a set, I'd love him.

In honor of POTUS, 169 years ago today TEXAS declared Independence in the name of GOD. SCOTUS will come up with some ambiguous ruling in order to avoid "reducing" its credibilty with the populous.

Ruth Bader G. was put on there without any dissent. Hell she was a former pres of the ACLU - how much more biased could she be?

Her husband was a prominent tax attorney who saved Ross Perot alot of bucks. I think the SCOTUS appointment was a thank you by Clinton to Perot for taking out Bush 41.

See post #183. Feeney's been talking all day on my local newsbreaks and he is really ticked about this recent death penalty decision (as are many Florida reps). His original Bill has been lingering...but he is making it clear that he will re-introduce it with even tougher language.

"Are we forgetting POTUS has the final say over decisions he feels SCOTUS makes badly??"

I think we got rid of this principle in 1776.

Not exactly. The USSC has no way to enforce it's rulings. We the people could just as easily rumple their hair and say: "Aw, you made a ruling, how cute!" as to obey what they say.

As Jackson said: "John Marshall has made his decision. Now let him enforce it."

The Executive Branch has the Army.
The Legislative Branch has the purse strings.
The Judicial Branch has .....magic.

The Justices live in fear that someday they will issue a ruling and the people will say "no".
