I'm sure that was a tough call.

tough love, although, it being a tough thing to do I think it was the correct thing to do. His daughter coming out like that at a rally was a spit in his face. She knew it and so did he.

I wouldn't foot her bill at university either. But I wouldn't disown my own flesh and blood unless they posed a danger to me or my family.

Just goes to show that Newt and Dick has a lot more class than Mr. Keyes.

Is he really a leading republican? No, unless you count him as the leading Republican expert at losing elections.

Homosexuality is a mental disease. This woman desires to insult, weaken, and embarass her father in public. She is not well.

First thing the little darling does is go on CNN.
Pathetic bid for publicity.

If this is Keyes brand of Christianity, I don't want any part of it. What a disgraceful parent and role model.

If this was a drug adiction or alcholism with an adict who refused treatment, there would be zero debate on what Keys did.
You have to wonder how much recruiting goes on with stuff like this. Was Keys really that significant? Ever?

I wouldn't foot her bill at university either. But I wouldn't disown my own flesh and blood unless they posed a danger to me or my family.Disowning isn't a full denial of familial relationship. It is equivalent to excommunication by the Church of the unrepentant sinner, whereby the unrepentant sinner is cast out of the Church and denied it's protection and benefits, all meant to bring that sinner to repentance.
To: Peach
I COMPLETELY AND TOTALLY AGREE, 100%!!!

Not a fair report. As far as I have read, he absolutely did not "disown" her. She no longer gets to live at home, nor he will not pay for her college. He knew about this well before she had to leave the house -- by the daughters own admission -- and he did try to persuade her to leave this lifestyle. Really, hearing only the daughters side of this is no way to draw a fair conclusion. Who knows what the other details of their conflict are, and frankly I think it is a loving thing to reject her immoral behavior, at least verbally. The truth is never unloving.
Anyway, if the topic is off limits in the case of Mary Cheney then it should be off limits in this case too.

If it wasn't for Keyes public profile she would be just another bull-dyke talking perverted nonsense. Keyes cannot maintain a zero tolerance position against homosexuality and
at the same time tolerate this type of behavior in his own household. That's called hypocrisy.
Similar to so-called pro-life politicians like Mccain who are against abortion unless it's his own daughter that wants one.

and frankly I think it is a loving thing to reject her immoral behavior, at least verbally. The truth is never unloving. It is to touchy feely postmodernist religionists who want feel goodism type religion rather than following the Biblical standards.
By cutting his daughter off, Keyes is giving her what she wants, which is to live by her own dictates, but not at his expense. Her actions are followed by consequences. She is now finding that out.
To: Peach
I have no problem with what Keys did. If any other sexual adiction the solution would be the same.
To: Peach
Maybe you don't understand Christian principles. Christ did not have a bunch of sinners following him around. His dictum was "Go and sin no more", not for his followers to go around and boldly proclaim their sin as some virtue.
Christianity helps you forsake sin not champion it. Keyes daughter apparently has decided to champion it. So how would you have handled it?
