They all want Lewinskyes??????
I read that before. Apparently that's true too.
It's still pretty funny.

They prefer honoring a blow job giving underling to the most powerful man in the world.
No wonder their nation is in such decline.
They are too busy thinking about getting blown to realize the greatness of the American President in this time and place.
One has to have character to understand it.
Great story Skooz! And way to tell 'em , Captain!! I'll be willing to bet there was a certain period of silence from the control tower before they gave him his vector.
: D
Hey Hey!
Yo ho!
We Germans are dumb and slow!
And Schroeders got to go!
Bing bing bing, we have a winner!! Applause for the most inhuman, pro-collective-guilt and unconservative statement on this thread!
I was going to let your snide comment pass, but- since you brought up the subject, let's examine some historical facts, Mein Heer.
Inhuman? Who allowed a maniacal son of Satan (Adolf Hitler) to rise to be absolute dictator? GERMANY.
Whose tanks rolled accross the Polish frontier on Sept. 1, 1939, igniting the most horrible war in human history? GERMANY.
Whose Axis partner, Japan, attacked the US at Pearl Harbor on Dec 7, 1941? GERMANY.
Collective guilt? Who invented The Final Solution and death camps such as Auschwitz, Treblinka and Birkenau? GERMANY.
Whose civil population fanatically supported Nazi ideaology and profited from the conquering of an entire continent? GERMANY.
Whose armies exterminated entire villages in Russia, executed civilians for the mere suspicion of resistance, and brutalized every country they invaded? GERMANY.
Against whom was the Atomic Bomb INTENDED to be used, had they not surrendered before it could be used? GERMANY.
Now, more recently-
Who planned, organized and executed the Berlin Airlift against the Soviet blockade of that city? AMERICA.
Who concieved the Marshall Plan and poured untold billions of dollars into rebuilding Germany after it's defeat? AMERICA.
Who allowed Germany to re-form a democratic civil government only a few years after its defeat, instead of acting as an occupier forever? AMERICA.
Who stood ready to defend Germany against the Soviets, alongside your own troops and those of Great Britain and France, for more than 50 years? AMERICA.
Who had the balls to force the Soviet Union to its knees and break down the Berlin Wall? AMERICA.
I have absolutely no guilt about utterly destroying anyone, past or present, who willingly and enthusiastically makes war against America. Don't like it? Tough.
Your bio says you're a conservative German and a friend of the United States. Glad to hear it. How about you organize a pro-America rally and get some press to counteract the idiots in the picture? Until then, spare me your snotty remarks.
Snotty remarks, eh? Must have been reading your own comments again.
Did a majority vote for Hitler? Never.
Did the people want war? Actually, a majority did not, also there was no chance to express their disapproval. Germany slipped into the dictatorship, even because it was unprecedented and not enough people expected these cruelties.
Were it the women, the children, the refugees that lived in Berlin who committed or approved the crimes against Germanys neighbour states, its Jewish or regime-opposing population? Certainly not most of them. By wishing that they should have been killed by the ultimate bomb you show nothing else than that what you pretend to despise: approval of collective guilt!
Let´s make a comparison: Iraqis didn´t stood up against Saddam in 1991, when he attacked Kuwait and brutally killed Kurds, did they? No? So why didn´t you want that your President dropped the big one on Baghdad? I tell you why: because you don´t believe in collective guilt, actually. But Germans are worse, Germans are evil, all Germans are evil, it´s their "national character". Tell you what? I get sick of this BS. Naturally, it is hard to compare the Nazi crimes with anything else in history. But that must never lead to forgetting individual guilt. Learn to differentiate between evil and good not only when looking at Iraqis but also when looking at Germans (of 1945 and 2005).
Btw, we have lots of good people today. Europe´s most read newspaper has a great commentary about America today. In short this is what the author wrote:
"Can 2/3 of the people fail? Of course they can. 2/3 of Germans think we don´t have to show grattitude to America. These 2/3 are wrong. ...Without America, Berlin would be Chruchovgrad today, without America, we couldn´t enjoy the freedom to say what we want - including criticizing the American, Russian or German President. ..."
Hope you got the message.
My opinion is...F*ck these Nazi light motherF*ckers.
May they feel the wrath of God for their evil.
I just saw the movie "The pianist" last night for the first time, so my disgust of Nazis and their offspring are at an all time high...
So, let me get this straight- Hitler was actually opposed by a majority of Germans? Then HOW was he elected Chancellor? The silence after election day must have been deafening.
You want to talk about individual responsibility? If there was such opposition to Hitler, why did the civil population allow themselves to be seduced by him? Was it thousands of department-store dummies screaming "Sieg Heil!" at the Nuremburg Rallies? Who tooled up the factories and stoked the blast furnaces at Krupp and Rheinmetall and Heinkel? Who dug the coal and milled the steel and ran the trains? Who built the Messerschmitts and Focke-Wulfs and Panzers and U-Boats? Who allowed the Boy Scouts to become the Hitler Youth? Who allowed the judicial system to be come kangaroo courts? Who failed to protest the treatment of Jews after Kristallnacht? Who supplied the warm bodies that swelled the ranks of the Wehrmacht, Luftwaffe, Kriegsmarine and Waffen-SS? Who smiled for the newsreel cameras as their Panzers smashed through Poland, Holland, Belgium and France? Who fell asleep and let an entire country become a monstrosity?
Millions of ordinary Germans, both men and women. Millions of INDIVIDUAL Germans who could have refused to run the trains, or dig the coal, or build the Panzers, or serve in a conquering army. But they didn't.
Where was the resistance? You guys are supposed to be such great organizers, why was there never any significant opposotion to the Nazis? At least in the beginning, you outnumbered them thousands to one.
War stinks, whether waged with small arms or nukes. But Germany introduced the world to Blitzkrieg, and to total war, not America.
I regret the necessity that led to the development of the
atomic bomb. But I don't regret that we used it to defeat our enemies and ultimately bring an end to WW II.
I don't think Germans are evil. But I'm damned tired of seeing the USA run down by Europe. If pictures like these are all we see, how can we help but be angry about it?
We're in a fight for our lives, and the Islamic maniacs that started it have Germany on the hit list too. But you don't believe it.
Again, where are the German voices in support of the USA today? Where is the newspaper coverage or TV coverage that counterbalances pictures like the one that started this thread? Personally, I'd like to see some. It would help lower my blood pressure when I think about Europe.
Check your history books. Hitler was not elected Chancellor, he was appointed - by the President on the pressure of the democratic parties. Hitler gained votes, his party received some 41% (or so) of the votes in their best (free) election. The rest were democratic and Communist parties. The enemies of the Weimar Republic (Nazis and Commies) had a majority, and the democrats feared the worst, they wanted the President to appoint Hitler so that he could prove that the Nazis couldn´t do it better. Well, they never thought that the Nazis could seize power by arresting the MP`s of the Social Democratic and Communist party, by that - under violation of the constitution, but with consent of some democratic MP´s (!) - change the constitution so that the government could pass bills without approval of the parliament. Then they prohibited all parties except the NSDAP and the sh!t happened... So, actually, there was no real election day.
Protests didn´t took place, because the Nazi party had 100,000 of (former unemployed) men under arms (!) (the SA), which was a real challenge to the police.
I am not denying that there were lots of Nazis. But I´m saying that the engineer in Krupp factories, the soldier in Russia or France (even officers) were mostly no Nazis. They did what they had to do in order to avoid punishment. My Grandpa - although he was officer - never allowed his son to join the Hitler Youth. That´s where we have to start with individual guilt. Is my Granpa responsible for war crimes just because he was staff officer in the Wehrmacht? I say no, because I know where he was at which time (he has a detailed diary) and what happened there (ok, he was Air Force). You cannot held the soldier responsible for fulfilling orders, except these orders were not within the usual rules of war (say shooting civilians or partisans). While the SS guard having helped to prevent escapes from KZs bears guilt, the man having worked in a factory producing cannons did not.
We HAVE to look at the individual side, respectively it was done so after the war. Why do you mix it all together to the sentence "the Germans are all offenders"??
Do you really say that the Germans who run the factories bear guilt because they didn´t refuse to do so? They had risked their lives!! Tell me, would you refuse to work in a factory if the alternative is being put in a KZ? Thousands have decided to go into the KZ, and thousands died. I don´t know whether I would have had the strength, and I don´t believe anybody who says he had but hasn´t been there.
There was resistance. Secretly, hidden. Did you know that there were ca. 40 attempts to kill Hitler? Mostly by unorganized individuals, but some by organizations. The most prominent was on July 20th 1944, when a bomb exploded in Hitlers HQ, put by some officers. The resistance group believed he was dead, but he wasn´t. They seized government buildings in Berlin and Paris, took over command and lost it hours later when Hitler announced he survived and ordered the execution of his enemies. Hitler survived so many attacks, he believed he had a divine mission. You say there was no significant opposition. The truth is, that nobody trusted another, the Nazis have even put parents in KZ´s when the child said something wrong against the regime in school. The system was total oppression, you cannot imagine that, and it´s hard for me too. And before the end of WW2, no nation knew the right of refusing an order. You got an order, you fulfilled it. Today, you check the legitimacy and are not allowed to fulfill illegal orders. That was different back then. Good that we have learned from the evil past.
You are right lamenting about the bad image the US has in Europe. You don´t deserve that. I´m all for abolishing unjust and biased views. I have given you the example of todays commentary. Millions have read today (the BILD is printed 6 million times) that we have to be grateful for Americas achievements. This is an example of positive coverage, isn´t it?
We could punch and counter-punch all day on this. At the end of the day, I suspect we might agree more than we disagree. You are correct, Hitler was appointed Chancellor, not elected. I stand corrected. But he still was able to bend Germany's will to his own. He could have ordered the factories to build consumer goods and farm equipment, but he chose arms instead. The Stukas and Tiger tanks weren't designed & built by robots. The General Staff didn't refuse Hitler's orders to invade Poland or France or Russia. The Landsers didn't refuse to march when ordered.
Certainly not every German soldier or civilian was a Nazi, but they all contributed either directly or indirectly, to the aims of the Nazis. The result was six years of misery and death for the whole world.
I wish to God that one of the attempts on Hitler's life had been successful. Those who tried to assassinate him on 20 July '44 were certainly brave men and patriots, but they also knew Germany was defeated. Where was their conviction to destroy Hitler in 1940? Did it really take that long for them to realize what a madman he was? As much as anything else, they wanted to stop Hitler from dragging them & all of what was left of Germany into the abyss with him. Unfortunately they failed.
When we Americans see pictures such as the one above, we
are insulted & angered. We have considered Germany a friend for decades, and this behaviour bewilders us.
However, your example of commentary in BILD is heartening.
I realize I offended you with my original comment, and I apologize. This conversation has wandered far afield, and I have managed to plant both feet firmly in my mouth. I'm glad to know there are still guys like you who consider America a friend. We need more.
This might make you feel better...not me.
My family members have told me that worse than any German Nazi were the Austrian National Socialists...they massacred anything they could find...absolutely brutal unfeeling beasts. (in Greece)
Some of the men involved in July 1944 have been trying to make the General Staff resigning in 1938 (when he invaded Czechoslovakia), and they re-established their underground group in late 1942. They weren´t blind! But as I said, it was regime of total oppression, which doesn´t make the crimes of the yes-saysers less brutally, but it relativates the guilt of those who didn´t dare to speak up. Until after WW2, no right to refuse orders was created, which makes the honesty of those who spoke up more admirable. For us, those who risked their lives to help the oppressed, to fight the regime, are heroes. Those are who we honor, and that may be the greatest victory about National Socialism, along with the growing Jewish community in Germany.
I think we made good progress in this dialogue, and I´m glad that you regret your first remark on this thread (A-Bomb on Berlin). It´s easy to say hot words, but it´s hard to take them back. Thanks for having done so, that shows greatness.
The relations between our continents will improve with more and more people realizing that we are standing on the same side. The people in East Europe understand it, many in Western Europe have to learn it - again.
Regards,
Michael
It shouldn´t worry you, it is not your fault - although I was glad to find out that my grandparents (= my direct ancestors) were not actively engaged in the regime. None of my grandparents were member of the Nazi party or one of its groups and my Grandpas both were not in units that have committed atrocities. Unfortunately, a Grand-Uncle of mine was a Nazi member, though not an important person. He was a teacher.
The paper said "thousands."
I looked HARD for pictures and only found a bunch of close up shots -- no wide angles and no overhead shots.
I hope Western Europe doesn't have to learn it the hard way.
The Islamofascists have the entire Western world in their sights, and they won't quit until they're utterly defeated.
Anyway, I'm glad we still have friends across the Atlantic.
Regards!
95 Bravo
