He implies that FR has been take over by "some fringe people". I think that's a pretty cheap shot.

Sean finds a "gotcha" and rides it to death, too shallow and ill prepared to suit me.
Sean and O'Rilley both need to spend more money on fact checkers and research staff.
This is just another case of Sean not thinking before speaking.

The childish posts here are rapidly proving what Sean said...
He is entitled to his opinion and hey- there is NO SUCH THING as bad publicity

That is my point, if Hannity were not around, would your opinions be any different ? He does help the conservative cause, but he is not my idol. Jim and the Freepers are a great group, and the same can be said here, I would be hard pressed to say my world would drastically change, but would be remiss to not give credit to the many who make this a great site and a great resource for information and a boon to the conservative cause.

Sean ..so it has come down to this, a parting of our ways. Well, while one must suffer the occasional troll and the inevitable "did not ... did too ... did not" hijacking when browsing threads on Free Republic, we don't have to suffer through the seemingly endless parade of liberal guests who spout off their crap on your while receiving mild rebukes from the host, if any.
You see, my radio has an 'ignore Hannity' button, several in fact, and each time you pollute the airwaves with the likes of Lanny Davis, I press that button. Unfortunately for you, another station in town provides conservative alternatives in your time slot and I found pushing the return button happening less and less until now, not at all.
So go on pimping your books, teasing your one meaningful segment for 2 1/2 hours of your show, and giving tired old libs a brief stand on your soapbox. I'll gladly take a ping when Ollie North is guest hosting. Otherwise, count me out.
If Free Republic would only add an "ignore user" feature for the handful of idiots we must suffer, it would be nirvana. Ciao, baby.

Thanks for that ping, prairie, to MinuteGal's excellent analysis of Sean in general and his cheap shot today.
It was done deliberately to turn people away from FR because he knews, as does ABC's Note which made comments about FR today, that we have the best researchers on the web, as evidenced by Minute Gal's post (#716).
I rarely watch the evening shout shows as they add little value, imo, but the times I have watched Sean I've been unimpressed. Freepers could debate with more intelligence and deliberation than Sean does. When I have watched, I've found myself shouting the answer Sean SHOULD have given to the leftist he's interviewing. He doesn't have enough facts at his disposal and doesn't do his homework.
And for Sean to say that Freepers eat their own, what does he think he just did to the conservative movement? He certainly didn't add anything to it by trying to turn people to what I gather is some new site he's launched which, if it's as uninformed as his shows, will NOT help our cause.
He's jealous, imo.

I think what he did was self promote and the best way to do that is get FR ired. Agreed!
But I disagree with the division comment.
When I first came to FR, I thought that as well. I was upset with the divisions between libertines and the conserves, but I gained insight into what it really is.
It is like a family. together on some issues, divided on others, but we come together when we perceive a threat.
It is the way it should be, but like families we have personalities that often clash. We sometimes delay in correcting our balance in light of self expression. Our moderators do not want to error.
Hannity has too thin a skin to remain part of our family, and refuses to compromise his convictions or accept that we are not and will never be in lock step on all issues.
He is the one who is being childish, politically immature and resentful.

Sean's an intellectual midget.. Republican talking points parrot... I'm glad he's found an audience and making his money.. but he's not an intellectual heavyweight for the conservative ideaology.
I totally agree. I haven't listened to him in a long time because I just thinks he's too wimpy and more for the party than the principle.
To: 1Old Pro
Sean, your most trusted friends are your most avid critics. We are trying to make you better bro. Take the constructive criticism and do something with it, don't whine like a lefty.
