Medved on O'Reilly tonight to debate Million Dollar Baby.
Fox: 8 Easter / 5 Pacific
RE: "You're not rude and insulting. I agree with everything you've said and I say that as a happily married mother of 3 daughters, ages 16, 18 and 21. We all enjoy a good movie and like to discuss it afterwards. I wish there were more made like this one."
Thank you for that Jenny. Although it may not look like it much on this thread, a little kindness goes a long way with me and I appreciate the support.
RE: "They do get equal Pay,"
Find that study, you'll see who released it, and how it was later proved erroniouse."
If that is true, I am not at all disappointed to be wrong.
I have met quite a few guys in my time who DON'T believe in treating women as equals on the job, and my statement about "women's rights" is targeted at their lot.
RE: "Alec Baldwin's Private life?
- You mean saying that women and children should be stoned to Death on TELEVISION?"
Actually, he said that Illinois congressman Henry Hyde should be stoned to death, on the Conan O'Brien show during the Clinton impeachment hearings.
Yes, it was a stupid and disgusting thing to say.
No, it has absolutely nothing to do with his performances or acting talent.
Bwahahaha!!!!
Oh, to be 22 again and believe in such nonsense.....
Look, 'the cinema' is crap. It was designed to appeal to the lowest common denominator. Otherwise it would have never been made.
At this point, the lowest common denominator believes in dying if they aren't having enough fun. They pander to that in this movie--'cuz that's what movies are: Pandering to the lowest common denominator.
I hold that belief deeply..... LOL!
Jeebus, I believe that 'female boxing' is an abomination. When did the idiots decide that was 'OK'?
RE: "That was a nice way of dodging the question
so should a a marijuana DEALER and a crack DEALER receive the same jail time"
No, because marijuana should be legalized (it isn't nearly as harmful as crack, or tobacco, or alcohol), and crack should not, and A man should not be sent to prison for selling a legal drug.
Spoken like one is surely running the asylum.
Your posts have provided Exhibit "A" of why Hollywood keeps churning out garbage with little regard for profit.
I don't buy it. Too much garbage around. And the producers use excuses such as yours for making money off it.

I'll have you know that there are millions upon millions more out there like me, who hold the IDEA of the cinema in the highest regard, and do care what happens to it. None of what you wrote is anything but your own subjective OPINION of the cinema, and I don't give a flying f*** what you "think" about my values.
That's usually how values work in the first place, you know...personally.
RE: "I don't buy it. Too much garbage around. And the producers use excuses such as yours for making money off it."
There's too much garbage going around in the world, not too much in the cinema.
I strength trained and sparred with the 8th US Army Middleweight Champion until I got into Muay Thai....
I could paralyze her and then snuff her--if you like that kind of thing, I guess.
RE: "Y'know what the best part of 'female boxing' is?
No matter who wins, some dopey b**ch gets beaten up."
I feel truly sorry for whatever woman was masochistic enough to marry you.
Yeah. That's what makes you the lowest common denominator.
This movie was built in a Hollywood lab of focus groups and polling precisely to appeal to you. And it does.
Liking it isn't an accomplishment--it was built for you.
Gee whillickers! Goodness!! Thanks for the insight on a profound matter like that.
RE: "That's right
No, because different crimes are on different levels,"
You're right here...
RE: "Just like Rush's dependency on pain killers was different from Kurt Cobain's addiction to heroin.
One person actively engaged in illicit drug use for recreation purposes
The other person needed pain management medication, which he then became dependent upon."
...and still so very wrong here. There is no difference between the two cases in the severity and crippling dependency of the addiction, and it is the ADDICTION ITSELF (not the root causes for the addiction) that inspire sympathy in both cases among the clean-living.
Ok, now you're losing me. You were doing much better before you decided to have that last drink.
