International ANSWER (Act Now to Stop War and End Racism), a front group for the communist Workers World Party, has released a video that agitates for 'civil war' at President Bush's inaugural parade on January 20 in Washington, D.C.
According to reports, the group has received demonstration permits from the U.S. Park Service for at least two positions along the parade route on Pennsylvania Avenue: the Navy Memorial and Freedom Plaza.
The release of the video follows on the announcement that Ramsey Clark, a founder of ANSWER and its parent group, the International Action Center (IAC), will be one of Saddam Hussein's defense lawyers in his trial for crimes against the Iraqi people.
In 2003, ANSWER released a statement giving "unconditional support" for the terrorists killing Americans and Iraqis in the aftermath of the American-led liberation of Iraq from Hussein's tyrannical terrorist government.
In 2002, ANSWER spokesman Tony Murphy endorsed the homicide bombings of Israeli civilians by Palestinian terrorists.
Since it's founding on Sept. 14, 2001, while smoke was still pouring from the World Trade Center site in New York City where three days earlier terrorists had slaughtered almost 3,000 Americans and people from around the world in the worst terrorist attack in U.S. history, ANSWER has worked to undermine America's efforts to defend itself from further terror attacks by allying itself with Saddam Hussein's government and Palestinian extremists.
For the most part, their protests have been peaceful, but the air of violence always hangs in the background--a legacy of the 1999 Seattle riots that gave a rebirth to the anti-American left.
Indeed, IAC leader Brian Becker acknowledged in a January 14, 2001 Washington Post interview that he had realized his movement could attract more people if they thought they would not get tear-gassed like they did in Seattle.
That interview was done in anticipation of the IAC's protest of Bush's first inauguration. Despite promises that the protests would be peaceful, the Navy Memorial, where the IAC had a demonstration permit, was desecrated by protesters who took down flags from the masts there and assaulted people who tried to intervene.
Despite that lack of care to maintain public property used under their permit, the same group (under a different name)has been given a permit to protest again at the Navy Memorial on Inauguration Day.
This time, however, their mask of peace and anti-racism has been removed by ANSWER's leader, Brian Becker, in the almost five minute long video promoting ANSWER's Inaugural Parade protests.
The video uses a somnambulant song over video clips of protesters and police actions at the 2004 Republican National Convention in New York City. Protesters are seen carrying flag draped coffins, participating in illegal 'critical mass' bike riding and skateboarding on city streets. A plethora of images are shown of protesters being arrested by the police in an effort to demonize the police in the eyes of ANSWER's target audience for the Inaugural Parade.
Brian Becker, through carefully chosen speeches disguised as interviews, exhorts people to rise up against the Bush administration and their supporters.
In the first segment, Becker uses anti-Semitic codes words "neoconservatives" and "banking elites" while a sign that says "RNC Go Home" b/w "AIPAC Puppets" is shown on the screen. AIPAC stands for American Israel Public Affairs Committee: "The neoconservative agenda, which is really not just an ideological grouping inside the political establishment, speaks for a larger section: The corporate and banking elites in America who believe in the absence of the Soviet camp and the absence of the Soviet Union and the fall of the socialist bloc governments in the early 1990s, that a new empire, a new global empire can be established."
The next segment featuring Becker has him calling for a repeat of the violent upheavals of the late 1960s when assassinations, riots and violent protests nearly tore the country apart: "1968 and 1969 and 1970 where the United States was convulsed with such street protests of such magnitude that it seemed that the society was evolving, or devolving, toward civil war or great social strife, that will come again. And that will come again because resistance to this oppressive, illegal war of aggression is inevitable."
At the end of the video, Becker closes his call for revolution against the governmentat the Bush Inaugural (his statement is followed by a graphic promoting the Inaugural protest in Washington): "Most importantly, the most important ingredient in the coming epic battle for the defense of civil rights and civil liberties is not what the Bush administration does. We know what they will do. The question is what will we do? What will the people do? Will the people run, or will they stand and fight? And if they stand and fight, we believe the Bush administration and those who want to negate any semblance of democracy in this country will be defeated."
Pretty rich from a man who supports some of the worst violators of civil rights and civil liberties in our times: Saddam Hussein, Fidel Castro and Kim Jong-Il.
One wonders why, in a time of war, the U.S. government is permitting a viper to nestle next to its breast.

If they think you are appreciative of what they are doing, they will be inspired to do more.
i want reparations for the last 1960s-70s.
A lot of these ANSWER people are just plain idiots! Standing outside a fundraiser for President Bush a lot of these dopes showed up with their bullhorns and derogotory signs. We Bush, supporters tried to ignore them until they started breaking the rules and crossing over to our side of the street. One dope tried to start an argument with me screaming we are killing innocent people yada yada,I decided to test him and asked him who the secretary of defense was, he went on to admit he didn't know! IDIOTS!Later he told me he came to the event to pick up women!
Very well written. Thanks for all you do.
Oh God, here we go again! These people make me sick.
ANSWER is about as communist as you can get. I don't see them talking about the millions Stalin slaughtered. Oh, they say its all lies. Yep. Sure they are.
Nice! The dummies of DU have toned down their threats against the life of our President lately. I've forwarded a few of the over the top ones to the secret service for their perusal in the past, they look a little more quick to zot those that say such things now (know your enemy, but it does make me sick to my stomach to read their pages). Use a big enough stick and they get the message. Good for you on passing this along!
bump
Ramsey Clark is still at it after all these years? He never met an enemy of the United States that he didn't like.
I read a post there earlier from someone who said he/she was very depressed and that they had a visit from the FBI because of some of her comments on DU.
They're 3rd Party voters if at all, I would guess. It would appear a step to the right for her and that's what she's trying to achieve...a moderate image.
They can email me for my consulting fee.
download the video and suck up their bandwidth bump
A civil war with right wingers would be quick and victorious for us. Guess who has most of the guns?
They told us we could not hold our rally at the NAVY memorial, but ANSWER CAN??
After 2000??
I wasn't suggestin' NUTTIN'! [Looks innocent]
Actually, I just thought that graphic would make a good avatar for you - it's what I visualize when I hear your freeper handle.
Same Ramsey Clark, and Al Hubbard, who attended the DNC Kerry Fund raiser, and were seen in that video, with the "Soldier" illegally living in Brooklyn, and buying ammunition for the resistance (huge amts) to fight agains OUR guys under the UN in Kosovo. The same soldier/terrorist group member, who donated 500,000. to the Kerry campaign.
The note to protester on the site, where you link to the video, also told them the parade route was designated for Bush supporters and allies, but there is no law preventing them from being there as well. THIS worries me also.
Could be some disgruntled Kerry supporters in the Park Service who would like the embarrass the inauguration. If you read any of the ANSWER crapola - you will see they hate Kerry also - just not as much as Pres Bush. They seem to think they are cut from the same cloth.
