International ANSWER (Act Now to Stop War and End Racism), a front group for the communist Workers World Party, has released a video that agitates for 'civil war' at President Bush's inaugural parade on January 20 in Washington, D.C.
According to reports, the group has received demonstration permits from the U.S. Park Service for at least two positions along the parade route on Pennsylvania Avenue: the Navy Memorial and Freedom Plaza.
The release of the video follows on the announcement that Ramsey Clark, a founder of ANSWER and its parent group, the International Action Center (IAC), will be one of Saddam Hussein's defense lawyers in his trial for crimes against the Iraqi people.
In 2003, ANSWER released a statement giving "unconditional support" for the terrorists killing Americans and Iraqis in the aftermath of the American-led liberation of Iraq from Hussein's tyrannical terrorist government.
In 2002, ANSWER spokesman Tony Murphy endorsed the homicide bombings of Israeli civilians by Palestinian terrorists.
Since it's founding on Sept. 14, 2001, while smoke was still pouring from the World Trade Center site in New York City where three days earlier terrorists had slaughtered almost 3,000 Americans and people from around the world in the worst terrorist attack in U.S. history, ANSWER has worked to undermine America's efforts to defend itself from further terror attacks by allying itself with Saddam Hussein's government and Palestinian extremists.
For the most part, their protests have been peaceful, but the air of violence always hangs in the background--a legacy of the 1999 Seattle riots that gave a rebirth to the anti-American left.
Indeed, IAC leader Brian Becker acknowledged in a January 14, 2001 Washington Post interview that he had realized his movement could attract more people if they thought they would not get tear-gassed like they did in Seattle.
That interview was done in anticipation of the IAC's protest of Bush's first inauguration. Despite promises that the protests would be peaceful, the Navy Memorial, where the IAC had a demonstration permit, was desecrated by protesters who took down flags from the masts there and assaulted people who tried to intervene.
Despite that lack of care to maintain public property used under their permit, the same group (under a different name)has been given a permit to protest again at the Navy Memorial on Inauguration Day.
This time, however, their mask of peace and anti-racism has been removed by ANSWER's leader, Brian Becker, in the almost five minute long video promoting ANSWER's Inaugural Parade protests.
The video uses a somnambulant song over video clips of protesters and police actions at the 2004 Republican National Convention in New York City. Protesters are seen carrying flag draped coffins, participating in illegal 'critical mass' bike riding and skateboarding on city streets. A plethora of images are shown of protesters being arrested by the police in an effort to demonize the police in the eyes of ANSWER's target audience for the Inaugural Parade.
Brian Becker, through carefully chosen speeches disguised as interviews, exhorts people to rise up against the Bush administration and their supporters.
In the first segment, Becker uses anti-Semitic codes words "neoconservatives" and "banking elites" while a sign that says "RNC Go Home" b/w "AIPAC Puppets" is shown on the screen. AIPAC stands for American Israel Public Affairs Committee: "The neoconservative agenda, which is really not just an ideological grouping inside the political establishment, speaks for a larger section: The corporate and banking elites in America who believe in the absence of the Soviet camp and the absence of the Soviet Union and the fall of the socialist bloc governments in the early 1990s, that a new empire, a new global empire can be established."
The next segment featuring Becker has him calling for a repeat of the violent upheavals of the late 1960s when assassinations, riots and violent protests nearly tore the country apart: "1968 and 1969 and 1970 where the United States was convulsed with such street protests of such magnitude that it seemed that the society was evolving, or devolving, toward civil war or great social strife, that will come again. And that will come again because resistance to this oppressive, illegal war of aggression is inevitable."
At the end of the video, Becker closes his call for revolution against the governmentat the Bush Inaugural (his statement is followed by a graphic promoting the Inaugural protest in Washington): "Most importantly, the most important ingredient in the coming epic battle for the defense of civil rights and civil liberties is not what the Bush administration does. We know what they will do. The question is what will we do? What will the people do? Will the people run, or will they stand and fight? And if they stand and fight, we believe the Bush administration and those who want to negate any semblance of democracy in this country will be defeated."
Pretty rich from a man who supports some of the worst violators of civil rights and civil liberties in our times: Saddam Hussein, Fidel Castro and Kim Jong-Il.
One wonders why, in a time of war, the U.S. government is permitting a viper to nestle next to its breast.

and/or loudly chanting: KILL THE JEWS-KILL THE JEWS-KILL THE JEWS, as they DID last time????free dixie,sw
My grandfather raised dobermans and I love them. For the most part your statement is true, the problem is that every once in a while a mean aggressive one is born, and in that case they are a much more problematic breed than the Chihuahua.
He had a mean one born in one of his litters and refused to sell her as a pup or put her down when she really became dangerous. He lived out in the country on a farm and the family and friends of the family knew to honk the horn till my grandparents had time to put her up and come and meet you at the car. It worked for years until one day a stranger showed up. If it had been today and not 30 years ago he would have been sued.
"I read a post there earlier from someone who said he/she was very depressed and that they had a visit from the FBI because of some of her comments on DU."
Poor baby!
Of course it would never occur to these Dimwits that the FBI and Secret Service probably moniter them for just that reason.
Duh!
I am extremely concerned that one of more of these individuals could very easily be an Al-Queda operative and could bring a bomb or bombs onto the parade route. I think for purposes of public safety, their permits should be revoked and they should be directed to demonstrate at, say, RJK stadium parking lot.
Got confirmation this morning that the MIB have opened their mail. Want to guess what's coming next? He-he-he-he-he-he-he-he!!!!!!!

I agree, and hope you are correct. I always get nervous that these kooks are going to start shooting.
The group Nick Berg's father is a member of?
The same father who didn't express outrage that his son had his head slowly sawed off with a dull knife so he'd feel the pain and terror as long as possible, but because Americans SAW the video?
THAT A.N.S.W.E.R.?
Thought so.
These people have no agenda, or rather nothing but a far, far left agenda which America has rejected, decisively and repeatedly.
The only thing they could do which would be more injurious to their cause than staging these sohpomoric, violent protests would be . . . to state their "program" clearly and in detail.
I don't want to focus on a "bad" topic, but I sometimes really get worried about these people. Keep saying "Bush is Hitler" loudly and repeatedly, and some kook might actually take it to heart. Look at DU right now - there's a whole thread about "Bush is Hitler." I really, really hope the Secret service is looking hard at the kooks . . .
Kristinn, after all your inter-action with the Park permit office, could you get an appointment with some one of authority and show them the video from a laptop?
That's nothing but projection of guilt. They know perfectly well that the people THEY support killed him.
Let me be clear about my earlier comment. The "famous" was the comment on the thread, not about a famous FReeper. That having been said, I am absolutely convinced that Berg's disgusting America-hating father hates George Bush more than he hates the monsters who killed his son.
