Welcome to the puff list----it's fun to be with like-minded souls!
I wonder if/when my addiction to online political debate will get me five to ten in the slammer.
Only if I do it from the right, I guess.
I know what you're talking about....but I don't believe you are actually smoking any less than you did with the store boughts. You are just burning them less.
I found the exact same thing when I first started smoking RYOs........I go through less than a pack, usually less than half a pack a day, unless I'm out. And that was doing the exact same things I was doing with the store boughts, but I have been known to go through more than 2 packs a day of those.
There are none of the additives in the RYO tobacco that are found in the store boughts.....particularly the additives that cause them to burn faster. It really has nothing to do with the nicotine contact as far as I have been able to determine.
In most of the country liberals treat alcoholics and drug addicts and other bums as victims. But smokers (those who are mostly addicted to tobacco) are treated as criminals.
I never even though of walking around with an unlit cig in a mall----Thanks for the suggestion---drive the antis nuts!
I've noticed the same thing since I've begun rolling my own. I smoke less, and I can go for a much longer time without a smoke now. I think the pre-made cigs have something loose tobacco doesn't have. I simply don't get that physical "I need a cig" feeling I used to get.
The problem is that when someone pushes you to quit and demonises you for being a smoker it turns you into an "in your face" smoker" IMHO.
That's how I feel----I'm becoming a rebel for the first time in my life and I kind of like it.
WOO-HOO! Another "Puff List" ping!!
See y'all there!!
All about you, is it? The comparison of coffee and tobacco is not relevant to banning smoking.
Good Lord,are you still here?
That's what I meant, that urge to have one after the other isn't there. I used to be able to go through a carton in less than a week....now its closer to two weeks.
I remember one anti telling me that my late father-in-law, and subsequently my late mother-in=law should have rejected his pension checks because PM bought out General Foods.
My husband's dad worked for GF for more than 30 years, and retired long before PM bought it out, yet these yahoos actually believed he should reject that which he rightfully earned, all because of the buyout by another company.
I don't boycott all PM products......just their tobacco products. The infrastructure of the company is such that the food division actually has it's own government relations and PR divison that is 100% seperate from the tobacco side. As a lobbyist I actually saw both sides at loggerheads with each other over numerous pieces of legislation. It was actually rather amusing.
I don't want to see PM fold....I just want to see them out of the tobacco business.
OK. That helps. At least I don't feel as ignorant as I did before, anyway. :)
Well, I haven't gotten flamed yet, so at least I didn't offend anyone! :) LOL
"I am also addicted(and I'll admit it) to coffee----Is that acceptable or unacceptable?"
There are people who call caffeine a "drug", and (like the anti's) put that in the same catagory as heroine and alcohol addiction. (Hope you don't put sugar in that coffee either). I long ago threw up my hands and decided to live my life and stop listening to the din of the endless things that are "bad" for me.
It's annoying that they get as much traction as they do on this, given all that.
I almost find it funny...these guys act surprised that people are fighting back against having their rights infringed upon. Geesh.
You would think an enlightened and rational and responsible and consent-driven people would want to know all the ramifications of their freewill choices in order to be real champions of choice, albeit harmful ones. But a person cannot validly consent to ignorance or to personal harm or to the shirking of personal responsibility.
A gator-freighter, huh? LOL My oldest son's father was on the Guam for a tour...he complained about how old the ship was...they had serious problems with their boilers. I never got to serve on a ship, though. I had orders to the Kennedy, but they switched them to a joint tour instead, and then I ended up overseas.
Ah well. So, a BM...no wonder I like you. :)
I remember that thread well!!!! Thank you for reminding me.
I need to amend my earlier comment....not only am I a bad parent with no morals/values because my child is in public school and a bad person with no morals/values because I support a business owner choice to cater to smokers, but I am also an adultress with no morals/values because I am divorced and now remarried.
Sheesh.....at the rate things are going around here I'll be condemned to the fires of hades long before I'm even in a grave.
