Kerry Trashes Bush in Baghdad

Visiting with U.S. troops in Baghdad on Thursday, failed presidential candidate John Kerry trashed Commander-in-chief George Bush for making "horrendous judgments" and "unbelievable blunders" that have undermined the war effort.

In a series of demoralizing comments first reported by the San Francisco Chronicle, the defeated Democrat griped, "What is sad about what's happening here now is that so much of it is a process of catching up from the enormous miscalculations and wrong judgments made in the beginning."

Kerry said that because of the Bush administration's mistakes, "the job has been made enormously harder."

Among the errors cited by the disgruntled Democrat: the decision by former U.S. occupation leader Paul Bremer's to disband the Iraqi army and purge the government of former members of Hussein's Baath Party.

Both moves were have fueled the Sunni insurgency, he claimed, lamenting, "Mistakes have been made."

Then, perhaps sensing he'd gone too far, the 2008 White House hopeful cut short the Bush-bashing, saying, "Now, it's a different time and different set of judgments that have to be made. I'm here to make judgments about what moves are available to us."

I wholeheartedly agree. I don't give a damn what this idiot thinks in the comfort of his own home sipping some French wine, but to actually stay those things in front of the troops makes me livid.

Maybe politicians need to take an oath like physicians take in regard to doing no harm. Every time he opens his mouth, he does harm to our troops.

I'll bet the troops were required to leave their weapons at the door for that visit...

I don't get it. Isn't the Senate in session today? What the hell is this traitor doing in Baghdad anyway? Isn't it about time he got back to the work he was paid to do after his 2-year hiatus and the most recent "Holiday" vacation?

Isn't this guy EVER going to come back to work?

Judging from his remarks, he's there to aid the insurgents terrorists.

There. That's much closer to the truth.

This is a disgrace that a former candidate for President of the United States goes on foreign soil during wartime and trashes our President.

Absolutely. He should have written a confidential report and forward his conclusions to the White House and the Defense Department.

Not only he's demoralizing our troops and encouraging terrorists, he's making sure anything he has to say will be considered political hogwash.

There is a difference between being a statesman and being a politician.

"3) We have missed many opportunities to create "good will" with the locals because of state department weenies who aren't in Iraq."

There may be particular issues in certain places, but the "good will" efforts are much more than you apparently know of.

I have pictures, stories, and even forwarded E-mails from Iraqi civilians which are in conflict with any notion that "good will" is not being applied over there.

They presented a Purple Heart today to a real Hero with the complete ceremony on the Regis Philbin show this morning! It was aweinspiring complete with the entire extended family and the Commander and Honor Guard with the National Anthem honoring a REAL HERO.

Now, we all know why Kerry was there.

He had to give back all the $$$ that he didn't use for his campaign.

If these comments are true, what we have here is a man who is pouring gasoline on a smoldering fire, angling to scuttle the Iraqi elections, and get a lot more of our guys killed--with complete malice of forethought.

If someone doesn't rein in these people pretty soon, there's going to be a civil war in THIS country.

Well, I think he is not demoralizing our troops cause I think they all know better than that. However what he is doing and saying on foreign soil to me encourages the enemy and if that isn't treason I don't know what is. Seems the Senator hasn't changed much from when he testified back in the 60's. He should hang his head in shame.
