A Few of FR's Finest....Every Day
Free Republic made its debut in September, 1996, and the forum was added in early 1997. Over 100,000 people have registered for posting privileges on Free Republic, and the forum is read daily by tens of thousands of concerned citizens and patriots from all around the country and the world.
A Few of FR's Finest....Every Day was introduced on June 24, 2002. It's only a small room in JimRob's house where we can get to know one another a little better; salute and support our military and our leaders; pray for those in need; and congratulate those deserving. We strive to keep our threads entertaining, fun, and pleasing to look at, and often have guest writers contribute an essay, or a profile of another FReeper.
On Mondays please visit us to see photos of A FEW OF FR'S VETERANS AND ACTIVE MILITARY
If you have a suggestion, or an idea, or if there's a FReeper you would like to see featured, please drop one of us a note in FR mail.
We're having fun and hope you are!

Thanks, Mixer!
1) Click on the graphic to open the Calendar. 2) Once there you can click on any month and even click to the right to go into next year. Once you are in the month that you joined FR you will need to click on the number in the calendar and then an add item screen will come up. 3) In the next box enter your name in the "Calendar Text" field and then click on submit. 4) If any of the screens fail to load simply click on refresh in your browser and that will usually fix it. 5) If all else fails or simply if you want me to do this for you send me a FReepmail and I will gladly do it for you. ~Mixer

Temp 32 with wind chill of 19 degrees. That's cold but.....we had 19 degrees this morning, don't know what the 'chill' was.
A few more days and I'll be done with this house.
What a great looking house! So much prettier than some of the new ones being built.
I'll post the before and after pics when I'm done..Complete siding, facia and soffit job..Big house.
Can't wait to see them. Lots of work, my friend. : ) And I love that sun porch! My granny had one almost like it.

Oops, this is the greeting I meant to post (I am outta practice at this stuff, lol)
To: MEG33
(More brilliant because I had an eye exam today and spent the children's inheritance on my first pair of prescription glasses!) Shame on you!
Well, at least you didn't spend it on wine, men and song. You're a good woman. : )
Hi, Meggsie!
To: daisyscarlett
Thanks Daisyscarlett, it's good to see you here tonight. Love the poinsettia graphic and the lovely meaning behind it. :)
Sorry bout being so particular about that purple font in our first Christmas music post, you were so patient with me. lol
To: ST.LOUIE1
Thanks LOUIE.
The fireplace is my favorite too.
To: Billie; Aquamarine
Thanks for posting the link, Billie but unfortunately none of the music plays from 2002. The graphics aren't there either but I think that is my fault...I just checked it out with my server and I either deleted it (by error) or blocked it...
Anyway, I was particularly anxious to play "O Christmas Tree" by the Sacrum Boys Choir. I just loved that song and group so much and have never been able to find a CD or anything.
I have "lost" all my Christmas CDs, save one(course it is a good one by Mannheim Steamroller but it is starting to wear on me, lol.)
Do you have a link to the Christmas music thread for 2003?
To: lonestar
Hi, lonestar!..My stray starving, worm ridden kitty has gotten plump, playful, has a real case of the cutes and has broken through my grief over my last kitty..I'm hers!
Silky Socks' first Christmas is coming!
God filled a need that I could not bring myself to initiate on my own.

The "O Christmas Tree" by the Sacrum Boys Choir was at the DeltaDawn wav site, that site went under sometime later that year. I liked that version too, it was special. Have been using SoundAmerica.com and a few midi sites for the last two Christmas music Posts.
Here's last years Christmas music post, not sure if everything is still working there or not. Finest Collection of Christmas Music

Only going to get to the 50s today but the sun is brilliant...(More brilliant because I had an eye exam today and spent the children's inheritance on my first pair of prescription glasses!) I remember my first pair of glasses. Spring 1971. They were the old black plastic frame glasses.
I look like Buddy Holly in them, LOL! I thought I had the pic somewhere, but can't find it, unfortunately. Whoops! Scratch that.
My good buddy John had saved the pic and he sent it to me a few minutes ago via MSN Messenger.
I just uploaded it to my website now.
There was a better and bigger one on the Overseas Brats websites not too long ago but it doesn't come up now via Google or on their website. :^(

Well Meek things have sure changed..My husband wore glasses like that at one time...My arms just got too short..and I got mine at the drug store ..but old age does require a little more help..I dread the day it's full time glasses..for distance ,too.
