Is it time for a who's going to the W2 Inaugural Ball and where will you be staying (and what will you be wearing) thread?

Click for Ball Info

If so, I'll start off.

The Good Lord willing, Sheila and I will be there accompanied by Syncro, and we'll be staying at the Washington Plaza Hotel. Chris is working and won't be able to take time off to drive us across country so our good friend Syncro has offered to take us. We'll be taking the southern route and will spend a few days in Florida before heading up to Washington, DC. Hope to visit as many chapters as we can along the way. And if anyone wants to join a cross country convoy, that would be great!

Sheila and I are thinking about cowboy hats and boots. We're in the mood for some boot, scoot and boogie!

Chris may be able to take a couple days off so he can fly out for the Ball, but he doesn't know yet. John and Tami will also be there and her son Nicky and her mom.

This is going to be a great ball!

Hope to see you there!!

I'm going with my Mom and Dad, and another more distant relative who lives in the DC area. We're staying at the hotel where the ball is, we were lucky and got a room there! hehe

I'm going to wear a suit but my dad is going to wear his tux. I'm not sure what the ladies are going to wear but I imagine it will be something "ball-ish". :)

Should be fun! I can hardly wait. :)

We will be staying in Alexandria, arriving on Jan. 19. Have family coming from 3 states, New York, Connecticut and Georgia. Some of us will be leaving on the 21st. Others will be staying longer, they will be attending the March for Life on the 24th.

LOL, ordered a gown online, thought I found the perfect gown (It said 'deadhead' as soon as I saw it) Well anyway, it was delivered last week and looks horrible on me. So...I don't know what I will be wearing :-)

Still thinking about it. Mrs jimfree is trying to get us to an official ball. I had a great time at our 2001 event and would be delighted to go back but she wants to be there when President Bush and entourage visit for a few minutes. Pubbie daughter in Florida has scored ceremony tix from her Congressman and will be visiting us with hubbie and my two grandsweethearts on inaugural weekend.

We may be last-minute additions to the Freeper ball if there happen to be spaces left. I know you all will have a great time and hope to be able to join you but I will plan to enjoy myself wherever we go.

Oh, yes. I'm sure you gathered it already but just in case I am a local in the Maryland suburbs. If you don't know anybody else yet in town feel free to freepmail me and I'll share contact information.

Just ordered two more tickets! Eight of us will be caravaning down from Exit 98 in Jersey and will be staying at the Key Bridge Marriott in Arlington. If things work out - we'll be able to attend the inauguration parade as well. It's going to be a great day, really looking forward to it!!

More hotel and motel info for Inauguration.

Virginia:

Quality Inn Mount Vernon 7212 Richmond Highway, Alexandria, VA Many rooms available, from $78 - $126 per night. One stay is OK per website. Metro is 3 miles away, NO shuttle.

Maryland:

Quality Suites - 3 Research Court, Rockville, MD Many rooms available, $160 - $170 per night. One night OK, according to website. Courtesy shuttle to Rockville Metro, but it looks like you may need to taxi back to hotel from Metro after the ball.

More info forthcoming, but will have to wait. My pager just went off. Gotta go to work!

The Duchess and I will be there. I will probably be in a Tux. I don't think the Blues will make it. Will be commuting from/to Leesburg.

also any graphics person able to make us all FR/Inau sweatshirts that we can wear other days for ID?

Well, there won't be any sweatshirts but there will be a lot of other FreeperStuff; including, the new Pajama Patrol Badge Products.

There will be a metal Pajama Patrol Badge as well an iron on embroidered Pajama Patrol Badge available at the Ball as well as on the website shortly before the ball.

At the ball will be embroidered FreeRepublic ballcaps, several types of tee shirts, coffee mugs, mousepads, bumper stickers, buttons and other things.

Sadly, I will not be able to attend as I have a work conflict that week. Please scratch my name from your list. I will however help out with a donation to the ball fund.

My best wishes for a successful and happy event!!

I will come in on the night of the 19th and leave on the 22nd. I want to take lots of pictures of the experience for a Powerpoint presentation for my class. The school is helping to pick up my airfare...cool, huh?

I will be staying at the apartment of a former student who is out of town that weekend. (dissapointed liberal. Hey, I tried, but it obviously didn't take. ;) )

I will be staying in the Plaza Hotel in the Foggy Bottom District. Last time we were in DC, we stayed at a hotel called the Allen Lee Hotel. It was pretty bad, holes in the wall, shared not-so-clean restroom, but the price was right at the time. The good thing about both the Plaza Hotel and the Allen Lee is that they are about a half mile or less from the White House... so it's a pretty good location. Got reservations in March, I think. :o)

We're staying at the Holiday Inn across from Edwards AFB

That will be a real long drive from California ;>)

For outdoor activities plan to dress warm as it's generally cold. The DC Chapter plans to rally at the Navy Memorial and Pershing Park to cheer on the administration and conteract the permanently disgruntled. Watch these spaces for future announcements in January.

Three of us total. My bestfriend (Christina) and myself. We are flying from Tennessee on the 19th. My best guy (Drew) will either fly or drive from NC.

We are staying with extended family in Virginia.

We ladies are wearing ball gowns, and Drew bought a tux on Friday.

Christina has never been to Washington, DC. We will leave on Sunday afternoon, so that gives us a chance to take her sightseeing on Friday and Saturday.

If we have a central point where we can join up to watch the parade - I'd like that information.
