Is it time for a who's going to the W2 Inaugural Ball and where will you be staying (and what will you be wearing) thread?

If so, I'll start off.

The Good Lord willing, Sheila and I will be there accompanied by Syncro, and we'll be staying at the Washington Plaza Hotel. Chris is working and won't be able to take time off to drive us across country so our good friend Syncro has offered to take us. We'll be taking the southern route and will spend a few days in Florida before heading up to Washington, DC. Hope to visit as many chapters as we can along the way. And if anyone wants to join a cross country convoy, that would be great!

Sheila and I are thinking about cowboy hats and boots. We're in the mood for some boot, scoot and boogie!

Chris may be able to take a couple days off so he can fly out for the Ball, but he doesn't know yet. John and Tami will also be there and her son Nicky and her mom.

This is going to be a great ball!

Mary and I will be flying in on the 18th and returning to the left coast on the 23rd. Staying at the Washington Plaza. Packing and lugging a gown and tux.

My group of six will be staying at the Holiday Inn Washington/Chevy Chase. Booked the rooms in June.

I won't be going, but just as an aside, I went to the inaugural balls for GHWB41 in '88 and noticed how many "civilians" were wearing their medals, miniature medals or ribbons on their dinner jackets or suits. Do they do this at the Free Republic Ball?

Is anyone else staying at the Days Inn on Rte 50 in Arlington?

2201 Arlington Blvd? Ms. B and I are ... looking forward to a fantastic time! Will have cigars and heavy metal in tow -- unless Ms. B finds them before we leave! ;)

I think that is the address. As far as I know, it is the only one on Rte 50 in Arlington. I was lucky to get the last reservation they would take for one day and it's the closest I could get to the district.

Yes, I think the ball will be lots of fun. We are actually making a vacation of it. We are arriving on Jan 15th and comming back on the 23rd. Should be a great experience for Nick too.

We are flying in on the 18th from California. My 5 year old great-niece will be coming along. She is excited. She will be wearing a black velvet dress; I have no idea what I will be wearing. :)

MamaBear is coming with us and we will be staying at the Comfort Inn in Alexandria. We are staying until the 24th.

United Airways at 6AM :( out of LAX
That is a nonstop flight in extra narrow seats.
If I get the time I'll whip something up to wear but for now I have a semi-formal Mother of the bride dress I wore a few years ago that should suffice.

My daughter and granddaughter are flying out of LAX on the 18th 6AM FLIGHT :( That means arriving at the airport at 4 AM which calculates leaving the hacienda at 2-2:30. Java party at midnight, our house on the 17th!! We just might arrive in P.J.'s and furry elephant slippers. Nothing like first impressions. Ha!

I will probably have to bring chains too, it may be snowing at the Ball. Oh and I have some good *ahem* videos of some professional beginning Unicyclists, maybe I can get them shown at the Ball? Whatcha think...Oh and that's neat Nick and Shirley are coming.
