Will you spend more on Christmas/Holiday gifts this year than last year? I have seen so many polls on websites asking a very similar question but without the use the "C" word. This one does. I answered it! Hope you do too!

Less. Mr. RK and I are cutting way back on our shopping this year (except for the under 10 set in our families -we always spoil them!). We convinced my family we need to draw names and in Mr. RK's family we only buy for our neice and nephew (long story).

Everyone is getting gifts, though. I absolutely love to bake, especially at Christmas. So everyone is getting goodie bags/baskets of homemade baked goods.

I think the spelling is Kwanzaa.

Wasn't there a B-ball player a while back named Kareem Abdul-Kwanzaa, or something like that? When this "holiday" was invented a few years ago where did they get the name? I'd rather they call it something more generic, not so racially insensitive like "Burble." We are having a Burble celebration today... The most sacred of celebrations.

I'd even settle for Kwanzaasaki (as opposed to Suzuki)... "Let the Good Times Roll"

I’ll be spending a bit less on Christmas this year. I generally buy only for my grandchildren, the little girl is only 2 years old and not really into the whole getting $$gifts thing (yet). My grandson is a teenager so very difficult to but for. He gets a $100 bill. It’s the king of present all teens love, and I have never seen one refused.

Hi Protagoras-

Hey, we use the SAME spelling for that absurd holiday! How cool is that?

Does anybody celebrate Kwanzaa besides the public schools? Maybe I'm way out of the loop, but I don't know anyone that celebrates Kwanzaa.

As Glenn Beck (conservative talk radio host) would say, hoping not to offend ANYONE, "Happy Ramahannukwanzmas!".

LOL. Not at all. I have never heard of it, and even the (German) Jews I know celebrate a family fest on Christmas. But they don´t call it Hannukkah. And ehm, since we have not that many Afro-Germans, we don´t know Kwanzaa. Anyway, I can´t understand this political correctness in the US.

Don't bother trying. It's a waste of time.

Now just hold on there mister. Chanukah was around way before Christmas. Jesus celebrated Chanukah (Festival of Lights John 10:22,23). I don't have a problem, however, with anyone wishing me either in good will.

It´s NOT holiday season.

Whenever I am confronted with that "holiday season" BS; I ask people what "holiday" they are referring to. Why are they buying presents? The blank look on their faces is worth it.

I'll bet it's a big deal with governmental agencies. Gotta have that diversity, you know.
