When asked, "In your opinion, what will Bill Clinton be remembered for?" a majority of Americans cite some aspect of the former President's relationship with the White House intern, and a plurality mention her by name.
Washington, D.C. Despite the fact that Monica Lewinsky's name is only mentioned two times in the new Clinton Presidential Center, a majority of Americans think of her or her affair with Bill Clinton when they reflect on the most memorable events of the Clinton Administration, according to a recent national poll of 800 adults. Respondents were asked to reveal what they thought Bill Clinton would be most remembered for while in office in an open-ended question unprompted by pre-arranged response categories.
Specifically, 53% of Americans named "Monica Lewinsky" or the "affair, adultery, sex scandal" as the most memorable moment of President Clinton's eight years in office, more than four times the number who cited "the economy" (12%). Another 19% noted positive attributes about the former president, including 11% who remember him as a "good president."
Though the new Clinton Presidential Center states the former President developed "the world's strongest force for a 21st century community of peace and prosperity, freedom and security" only 6% of respondents mentioned any type of foreign relations as part of the Clinton Legacy, including a paltry 1% who identified him with the Israeli-Palestinian peace process.
Additional key findings from the survey:
When asked "What will Bill Clinton be remembered for?" 31% of respondents mentioned Monica Lewinsky by name, while only 1% said his wife, "Hillary Clinton."
Seniors (65+) were twice as likely as the overall population to remember Clinton as a "good president," while younger adults (18-34) and those aged 35-44 (read: parents) especially likely to name "Monica Lewinsky" when they think of Bill Clinton's legacy.
Men are more likely than women to cite "Monica Lewinsky" by name when they hear "Bill Clinton" (34%- 30%, respectively).
African Americans and Hispanics were less likely than Whites to connect the Clinton legacy to some aspect of the sex scandal, but still named it as their primary top-of-mind recall.
Every demographic group surveyed volunteered some aspect of the Lewinsky Affair as the one thing they think Bill Clinton will be most remembered for, including some of his biggest supporters.
The president who refused to accept the capture of Bin Laden and who also reduced our military in order to be able to claim that he had cut government jobs.

Your image of 'Nero blowing' caught me off guard. Very good! That is the Clinton(spit) that I'll remember. He's my spit-valve.
Urban legend.
Imagine how many pictures will be taken in the Library with the gal dressed in a blue dress...
That's a little surprising. I wonder what the female/male ratio is in that demographic. My stupid old women not in possession of all their faculties are skewing the data.
My= maybe. Whoops.
Who is....
The Father of His Country?
Old Hickory?
The Great Emancipator?
The Bl*w J*b President?
"The Most Ethical Administration In History"
Bill Clinton taking Red Chinese cash for his elections, and what he did for the money (that made the public eye) -- he took a big fat ink pen and signed on his big fat name on paperwork that changed supercomputer technology from under the hat of the defense dept to the commerce dept. As a direct result of his actions, China purchased this technology and obtained long range nuclear missiles able to reach the United States. Before Clinton, their missiles could not do this. Some legacy.
I bet that old song rings in Bill's head every day. The song that goes:
"Devil with the blue dress, blue dress, blue dress
Devil with the blue dress on
Devil with the blue dress, blue dress, blue dress
Devil with the blue dress on."
ARTIST: Mitch Ryder and the Detroit Wheels
TITLE: Devil with the Blue Dress
lol
Clinton's greatest legacy will be having to wake every morning for the rest of his life and face his ever growing unimportance.
One hundred years from now, the words "President Clinton..." will be most familiar as the beginning of a bawdy joke. For the next thousand years, throughout the world his name will be linked with Caligula, as one who abused power to satisfy his unhealthy carnal appetite.
As an active duty US Army Soldier for 17 years, I'll remember Slick Willy for the eight years of anguish I endured while he was CinC.
I watched in horror as the American public allowed this turd to gut the US military and our intelligence gathering capabilities...which resulted directly in 9/11.
I'll remember him for creating the mindset in this country that allowed so many people to blame President Bush for the Clinton Recession, 9/11, corporate scandals, and all our other social woes and maladies.
I'll remember him for creating the mindset in this country that there is always someone or something else to blame rather than accepting responsibility for our own actions.
I'll remember him for, (as much as I do loathe Hitlery), causing that woman the unimaginable embarrassment resulting from the Monica scandal.
Mostly though, I'll remember him for NEARLY making me embarrassed to be a Soldier serving this country.
I understand, Don.
And while you were serving under him, I was having to explain to children what the jokes were that they were hearing at school, and why I always turned down the radio or TV news when they were around.
He was a shame to this nation - in so many ways.
