Voted in Wyoming. A very big turn out. I have never had to wait in line but had to this time. It has me kind of nervous because this silly state voted in a democratic governor in 2002. It was a surprise for everyone! I hope there are no surprises this year!
My hubby here in Fresno, CA went to vote around 715 this morning..he reported the line was longer than usual, most of this turned out to be because of a "provisional" voter who showed up not registered and had to fill out paperwork! I ask you, what's the point of registering to vote by a certain deadline if unregistered voters can just walk in and sign up on the spot??
My daughter (first time voter!) and I are off to vote now..
Just voted in Cabarrus county NC. Took all of 11 minutes! Would have taken a little longer but the line for last names ending J-Z was empty so they moved myself and two others up to make the line move smoothly!
Voted Bush, Burr, Ballantine and many other Republicans!
I was told the line earlier (the "before work" crowd) was 2 hours long and that tonight after about 5:30 it will be that again.
Glad I got it done now!
Now he gets assigned to the oldest trucks....love it!
Yup. . . sweet!
Just got back from voting (in honor of Mr. Thomasset~!!!)
Y'all will not believe it, but here in Slapout, AL, for the first time in 10 years, I had to actually wait in line to cast my ballot. This is extremely significant (to me, at least), as in this tiny town on the most beautiful lake in the region, our voting district (Beat 14) has an history of voting for the winner. (Yes, they got mad at Daddy Bush and went for billary, I am so ashamed to say.)
Everyone who was there at the same time I was voting, was very proudly and loudly energized for W. Talk about a happy moment...it was one of my most memorable.
My prediction - Alabama for W @ 80% and W wins it by a 3.5 to 5% margin nationwide.
Now that is a tagline....
"I was thinking about the Vietvets this morning but I was thinking about John O'Neill. That man went on so many programs, just to be called a liar and be treated so disrespectfully, but he always stayed calm and replied with class.
The SBVTS and POWS for Truth have not only worked hard, but they have opened wounds for all to see, and it would be so terrible if Kerry could pull this off anyway!!!!!!
Lets all keep them in our thoughts and prayers today -- it must just be agony for them."
I agree. Thanks for bringing the swiftvets back into the picture. They were relentless in their efforts to get the truth out about John Kerry. I admire them all.
Now, I am trying to stay serene and calm, so I will post my Yoga Cow--anyone who knows what an OM symbol is will notice the one on the side of this cow.

haha that has GOT to be photoshopped
Boy, I sure hope Moran is voted out! Do you think that will happen?
I just love people that think that Bush (or any president) is responsible for their employment. I have lots of friends that have lost jobs, as I have, and not once did we consider blaming the POTUS! AMAZING!!!!!
Just got back from voting in suburban Columbia, South Carolina (Richland County). I've never seen anything like it...I had to wait almost an hour and a half, and I got there at 11:05 am. I don't think I've had to wait an hour and a half in 20 years of previous elections combined! Poll workers at the precinct said that *every* precinct that they'd spoken to around Columbia was showing an hour and a half to two hours wait. Turnout is VERY heavy.
The wait was interminable, but people were in good spirits and friendly, and nobody really even discussed politics. One lady collapsed in line behind me and was brought to the front. The line was outside for the back half, and it's 80 degrees and sunny down here today.
Our area uses the Microvote machines, they have a scrolling paper ballot that moves under glass, and you push lighted buttons next to the selection of your choice. It's very easy. One of the seven machines was broken (they ALWAYS break at least one per precinct, guaranteed), which contributed to the backlog.
I was pleased and honored to vote for President Bush and most of the Republican candidates here in the Midlands; the sole Rats I voted for were our sheriff and Clerk of Court, both of whom are running unopposed and doing reasonable jobs. (I do wish a good Pubbie would run against Leon Lott for Sheriff, though.) I also made sure to vote HELL NO on their latest attempt to force through a 1% addition to the sales tax in Richland County...for "property tax relief." Yeah, right! That dog won't hunt!
Every time I started grousing about my back aching from standing on concrete for an hour, I shut myself up by imagining what the people in Afghanistan must've gone through last month, or what the people in Iraq will go through in January, to vote. We don't know how good we have it.
FOUR MORE YEARS!

Just back from voting in Westfield Indiana. Overheard the poll workers discussing the extremely high turnout. Cop came in and handed them absentee ballots, and they talked about the very high number of absentee ballots.
I am lucky in that for some silly reason my polling place is very small, and had no wait to vote. Out of curiosity I drove by a few of the other polling places in the area, and they were EXTREMELY crowded. Spoke to my parents who vote in Fishers, and they had close to a 2 hour wait this morning.
Can someone check on the blogs for bush, there is a thred that is saying to report voter fraud there. Is this a ligitamate number?
