BUSH WINS SEVEN-ELEVEN DRINK OFF
INDC Journel ^ | 10/26/04 | Robert Burke

Posted on 10/26/2004 7:04:46 PM PDT by Perdogg

October 26, 2004 Bush Up in New Poll Gallup? Pew Research? Zogby? Well yes, but in addition to those polls ...

7-Eleven did an unscientific poll in 2000, which was uncannily accurate.

The poll gives 7-Eleven customers the choice of a Bush, Kerry or undecided cup when purchasing a fountain soft drink. Poll results are based on the number of cups sold for each candidate. Although unscientific, the poll samples millions and millions of Americans from all walks of life across the nation, including those whose primary phone is a cell phone.

This year the vote is: Bush: 51.17 % Kerry: 48.83 %

I know it's a hard task, but can we refrain from picking on Teresa for liking a drink (like we don't)? Also, at 66 her looks are off limits.

I dislike her as much as the rest of us, but it is unseemly.

Kerry wins hands down among French Chardonnay drinkers. The glass is acid-etched with a picture of John Kerry hugging Jacques Chirac.

It may not make a difference. I heard that by detailed analysis it has been determined that if the difference in popular vote is greater than 0.7%, the candidate that wins the popular vote will also win the EC vote.

I heard the Bush Halloween masks are selling way more than the Kerry ones. Also that they have a Laura mask, but no Teresa mask. No mystery there... just dress up like a witch and you've got that one. (oops, that was mean. oh well.)

Frank Luntz was one of my profs in graduate school at American U. And Utz potato chips from central Pennsylvania are the best chips in the known universe.

My folks used to get them in the 5 gallon gold-colored cans. And the best of the best were chips with a bubble on then with oil trapped inside. You remember. You agree?

Don't get too excited. You have to tally the Frankenstein masks in with Kerry's since they are virtually interchangeable.

Florida .....then the very next night he flip-flopped and has

been nothing but pessimistic for Bush ever since....what gives Frankie ?????????

Grover Cleveland's middle election, the one he lost, disproves your thesis about O.7% popular vote margin always meaning an Electoral College win. IIRC, Cleveland's loss in that election was the widest percent win for a candidate who lost in the E.C.

Googled it. Here are the results: In 1876, Samuel J. Tilden won 51% of the popular vote, while Rutherford B. Hayes captured 48%. However, Hayes won 185 electoral votes, while Tilden got 184. A special electoral commission picked Hayes to be president.

In 1888, Benjamin Harrison became president by winning 233 electoral votes, even though he received only 47.8% of the popular vote. His opponent, Grover Cleveland, garnered 48.6% of the popular vote, yet received only 168 electoral votes.

The 1876 election was a flat-out theft. But the 1888 election was legitimate. Cleveland's votes were bunched in the South and his E.C. loss was legit, even though he was 0.8% in the popular vote.
