In my radiology department, several techs do exactly "the same job" but every one of them gets a different salary. The highest paid tech is a woman that has over 20 continuous years of seniority. The lowest paid tech is a woman with two months of seniority. In between those two, there are male and female techs all with different level of seniority all doing "the same job" and all getting different salaries.
Is it fair to assume that the woman who's been there for 20 years, when she'd been there only two months, was making what the newest tech makes now? Adjusted for inflation, of course.
If so, looks like there's no discrimination.

Then the "rump" and "whining" rhetoric starts. Women bitch; men argue. Women whine; men state facts. blah blah blah
Nobody mentioned rumps that I know of, but trust me, sweetheart, just as many men bitch and whine on these boards as women.

Well, yeah.
But you can't expect us to think about what's fair--what's JUST--when something as important as a claim BITM pulled out of her rectal crevice is as stake, can you?

You are what you are: biased anti-women old coot males.
Hey, aren't we supposed to ping A+Bert when we mention him?

Face it. You ARE playing the victim. FReepers tend to call it as we see it.
You remind me of that friend we all have who's dating a guy nobody she knows can stand, but she thinks there's something wrong with her friends and family because SHE likes the guy and nothing could possibly be wrong with someone she likes.

You fit in just fine with the other women-haters on this thread. They must have pinged you to come on over. Logic problem: Ad hominem, red herring.
Younger men are helping out more. Older men are like the guys on this thread.
Logic problem: red herring
More women, by choice, are chosing not to marry. Especially when the choice is to be married to some on this thread or earning a good living.
Logic problem: red herring, false dilemma
The "mad at men" theory is as old as you must be. It's used by so many who know so little.
Logic problem: Ad hominem, red herring

as if men sit around in strip clubs talking about women in negative fashion or making board policy.
With all the crap y'all two were talking about me last week at the strip joint, I wouldn't have put up with you for a second if you hadn't stuffed that C-note into my unmentionables.

The Evil Midnight Bomber What Bombs At Midnight was my first choice for an FR screen name, but it was too long (probably subtle and nuanced too) and I was deeply saddened.

Is it fair to assume that the woman who's been there for 20 years, when she'd been there only two months, was making what the newest tech makes now? Adjusted for inflation, of course. If so, looks like there's no discrimination. Our town is one of those town that has grown markedly during the last 20 years.
Twenty years ago, (which is before I ever got here) that female tech (let's call her Sally) was the ONLY X-ray tech in the Hospital. As time went by, the town's population grew and the Hospital got more and more techs, both male and female. That female tech then became the Department Manager. In other words, she was The Boss. She remained The Boss for 15 years.
The years passed and Sally decided to step down as Manager to become a "regular tech" and reduce her life stress. The next Manager was a female and so was the Manager after that who is the current Manager.
Amongst the X-ray techs, Sally now makes more money than any other tech, including the 6 male techs we now have, although Sally "does the same job" for the simple fact that Sally has more seniority than anybody else and seniority translates into a higher hourly wage.
For a few years, we only had one male tech and that particular male tech sometimes had a feeling that things were stacked against him in the "office politics" department However, his wage was based on job description and seniority as was the salary of every other tech.

Where the music stinks, and they water the drinks,
Where the girlies dance in their underpants,
Where a buck's enough to see their stuff,
Where the breasts may be fake but man do they shake,
Where you swear like a sailor, and wish you could nail her,
Where the cops are at the door, and there's a Kennedy on the floor,
Where Christmas is nice And lap dances are half price
Where you drink down the shooters and unwrap the hooters
Where egg nog's a plenty and the girls are all 20
Where the beer gives you gas, but the Bundys kick ass,
...at the nudie bar.

You can't win on statistics so you insult. Sorry for butting in -- but you haven't brought any statistics to the discussion to support your position.
All you have brought forth is one single case of "anecdotal evidence", your own.
Why don't all of these "under-paid" women leave those male dominated companies, start their own "all women" companies, and beat the pants of those male dominated companies? You all can start "all women" banks, "all women" insurance companies, "all women" factories, "all women" farms, etc. etc.
When you capture all of the market share, and put all the male dominated companies out of business, you can then hire all those out-of-work men and pay them measly little salaries. Ahhh, the sweet taste of revenge.
I think it's a grand plan and you should jump right on it.

"However, his wage was based on job description and seniority as was the salary of every other tech."
Yes, but he was also a man. So he had a chance to move up in the male-dominated-coot hierarchy, instead of being ground down by the sexist-patriarchal-old-geezer-strip-club-goin' boardroom boys.
