45 minutes to go. If there is already a live debate thread go ahead and delete this.
I understand posting a live thread has become a somewhat of a political ordeal here, when it shouldn't be. So to take the pressure off, I'm posting this anyway. Do I dare? LOL!
Wesley Clark just said Kerry was in Vietnam. Did you know that? I didn't know that!!!!
You know, it's not like the economy effects Vanessa Kerry! What does she care. She has her Stepmoney
West Clark on H&C and making a crack about Bush being a cheerleader when Kerry was in Vietnam
Then Sean ripped West about the cheerleader comment and what does he have against them
Sean in on fire tonight .. *L*
I was deeply moved to hear him say that.
Wesley Clark is an absolute embarassment. He sits there and says to Hannity that Kerry is strong on defense and has always been strong on defense. He must be smoking some of that dope Kerry brought back from the Nam.
I think it is typical of everyone's fixation on the east coasts that not a single person mentioned the fact that there is another playoff game tonight -- St. Louis v Houston.
To show the crowd the real truth of his lumber company holdings - a Louisville Slugger!
Sorry...most Americans ARE stupid.
Otherwise shows like "The Bachelor" and "Idiots Hitting Themselves Over The Head With A Bat" wouldn't be so popular on TV and I wouldn't have to hear about them everyday in the office.
"Watch it again. You're really wrong.
(Are you not a moral conservative?)"
Well, I care most about economic conservatism. I think this is the essense of conservatism and that morality flows from this. I HATE watching politicians bragging about how much they increase pell grants by or increase education funding by and then trying to outdo each other. Republicans have to realize that they are going to be slammed as not spending enough no matter how much they spend, so they might as well REALLY slash things.
Thanks Wes, I didn't know Kerry served in Vietnam.
Listen......can you hear that...........there it is again..........can you hear it?
That's the sound of the lib's swallowing their tongues.
Ain't it beautiful!!!!
So "who won"?
I thought Bush won - but I'm not convinced it will have any effect on the race due to the baseball playoffs.
It was very interesting to simply listen to these two men speak and not have any visual cues. The President came across as energetic, straightforward, slyly humorous, and surprisingly youthful. Senator Kerry has real gravitas as a speaker and a rather old-fashioned but effective oratorical style.
Simply listening, I thought that W scored a number of points for being very open and down-to-earth. When he told the story about meeting Laura or spoke of his faith, the depth of emotion was very evident in his voice. He also got what seemed to be far and away the biggest laughs of the night on his first few comments about the "strong women" in his life. Kerry never seemed to match that "openness" at any point and in fact seemed to fumble his attempt to joke about "marrying up."
Neither of them came across as at a loss for words at any point, though Kerry did seem to "um" his way into his answer about faith. They hammered away at talking points at many opportunities, which is INCREDIBLY boring when you forced to sit through them without any visuals to distract or enhance.
I call it a clean draw and thought that the President acquitted himself very well against someone who is supposed to be one of the best debaters in American politics.
"A whole lot of praying today for Bush and our nation here today,too...
And he could feel our prayers!"
I am so happy about the result (again) this evening!! I prayed through the debate again and tuned in to FR about 1 hour ago to see what people were saying. I rejoice with you at the outcome and continue to pray for a wonderful result on Nov 2nd! Praise God for the great performance of President Bush tonight.
I agree MUD.
He was articulate, confident, modest, funny, appealing. He proved, once and for all, that he's got the right stuff, that he's no dummy or puppet.
By contrast Kerry was verbose and rude.
But I have to review the transcript to see clearly the candidates positions on the issues. I'm not sharp enough to see them clearly first time around.
Clark lost it....!!!...Good job, Hannity....!!!
...and that's why we need to keep praying until the election is won--and for the next four years!
Rudy will now help our cause!
