Lets see....4 years as a Town Selectman, 3 years of School Board, 4 years as Mayor, 2 years as State Rep. In addition, I've worked on campaigns for RR, GHB, Bob Dole, GWB, Bob Smith, Phil Gramm. Participated in recount in Florida.

Maybe you've done all that stuff and maybe not. I have no way to tell. If that's the case then I was wrong about you and I take it back. I'm sorry you don't see a difference between the parties. I do see a difference and it's a life and death difference over islamic terrorism.

To me it seems self evident, those in power must want power. I just want to work my job and keep my family happy...away from the press, begging people for donations, long hours campaigning and phone calls from morons who happen to be constituents.

Politicians must get elected before they can make change, but that is precisely why all politicians get started... to make change they think is good. A successful politicians learns to listen to their constituents and the do the things he AND a majority of voters want done. This politician actually accomplishes things. He can try to persuade on unpopular positions but ultimately a politician is a SERVANT OF THE PEOPLE and they hold him accountable.

An unsuccessful politician gets into power and starts "fixing" things that most people don't want changed. He gets defeated by the guy who promises to undo the damage. This politician hurts his own cause

When someone is so far to the right that they are sure everybody else is wrong, and only they are smart enough to know what is best for the American people, then it is easy to see Republicans and 'rats as the same, because both parties are so far to the left from the "holier than thou."

Regardless of all this, you have a choice between the Republican party and the 'rat party this election. Same as the last election, and since before you were born. It's a fact of life and moaning about it won't accomplish anything more than moaning about gravity.
