September 20, 2004--John Kerry's lead in New York is down to single digits. The Empire State, among the bluest of the Blue States from Election 2000, is still in the Kerry column for our Electoral College projections, but the raw numbers are stunning.
Confirming findings found in other recent polls, Rasmussen Reports shows John Kerry leading George Bush by merely five percentage points, 49% to 44%. Four years ago, Al Gore defeated Bush to carry New York by a 25 point margin. Our last New York survey found Kerry up by 19 points.
Bush is also closer than expected in neighboring New Jersey.
Rudy Giuliani, Mayor of New York on 9/11 and one of the nation's most popular political figures, strongly endorsed the President at the Republican National Convention. That may be connected to the President's rise in the state's Election Polls.
Nearly a quarter of the state's Democrats now say they will vote for Bush.
Forty-seven percent (47%) of New Yorkers now Approve of the President's Job Performance. That's a six-point increase since our last survey in the state.
Looks like Giuliani, Pataki and Ed Koch are making a difference.
OMG this is incredible! It has always been double digits in NY for Kerry!
F'in AMAZING!
This is why I dont trust Rasmussen, he has Bush surging 14 points in NY, but the national poll still has him up only 2 or 3. If Bush is doing so well here, where is he doing 14 points worse?
By the time the election comes around, Florida, Ohio, Pennsylvania, Oregon, New Mexico, and others will no longer be "battleground states". Instead they will be New York, New Jersey, Maryland, California, Washington, and Massachusetts.
How am I doing?
Which begs the question why if even in Ny bush is this close that Rasmussens national poll numbers are showing basically a dead heat. Rasmussen needs to figure that out.
How can Rasmussen have Bush up by 4 nationally and only down by 5 in NY?
This doesn't compute.
The DU are expecting some good poll numbers coming from PA. They got the information from a Kerry campaign official.
Wait till they see this Maryland poll.
That's it. A few months ago I stated that the question wasn't if Bush would win, but whether it would be a solid majority or a landslide.
Now I'm predicting landslide!
Has anyone seen Koch on the campaign trail? We need him in New York. Calling Mayor Koch.
It would make sense if only if President Bush is gaining only or mostly in the blue states.
They are just deluded. The good numbers they see will be for W. Put the DU on suicide watch.
Must be an internal poll cos today, MSNBC is supposed to come out with Blue state polls. Is PA considered a blue state?
MSNBSC trust not!!!!
If Kerry's people are leaking internals to there base ie: DU, then they are in real trouble or as VP Cheney would say big time. I would guess they are doing it to not scare the base, a kind of blue pill for the DUmmies.
The funny thing is they have a list up of "independent polls" there, among there list is Pew,ARG and others that are ran by democrats. Ahh to have drunk that kool-aid and look through the eyes of a loser.
aw gee, dat's tough dat kerry might gotta spend some cash in newyawk
If you look at DU, even CNN is a part of the vast Bush-Rove conspiracy!
