Morning to you Beach,

I'm rereading Nightfall, the voodoo book.

I just discovered Koontz about 2 years ago. I was amazed to discover he was so prolific. I had been buying 1 or 2 at a time when I couldn't borrow his work from the girls at work.

We just had a "Books, CD's and Records for Half Price" I bought about 10 of them. I still have a way to go to get caught up with his existing body of work before I can anticipate his new stuff.

I much prefer Koontz to Stephen King. King spins a good tale but I despise investing 600 pages in a character to only have them get slaughtered in the end. I swore off King with The Tommyknockers.

(shhhhhhhhhh I'm not here. I'll have to post wOOhOOs when I get home tonight. In the meantime,...)

Were you able to track down on which Tenn. Ernie Ford album he sang the Christian song "Come on Down"? Circa 1974ish?

New England Patriots at Arizona Cardinals this Sunday.

   Players ready to pay tribute

The Patriots seem to be looking forward to honoring the late Pat Tillman this weekend as much as anyone in Arizona. The Cardinals will hold a special halftime ceremony for the former safety who gave up his million-dollar NFL contract to fight, and die, for the United States in Afghanistan.

All the players on the field will wear decals featuring Tillman's No. 40. Linebacker Tedy Bruschi already has the decal on his helmet, and he plans to wear it the rest of the season.

``We're not talking about political views or anything,'' said Bruschi. ``We're talking about a hero.''

When Tillman was deployed overseas, Belichick reached out and began a correspondence with him.

``He was a very dedicated individual,'' said Belichick. ``I'm sure that all those types of characteristics . . . will transfer over to everybody at the stadium, the fans and the team.'' . . .

I have so many favorite songs, ones that have meant so much to me. I'll probably be posting some of them. But as for one that describes my life, I guess it would be "Landslide" by Fleetwood Mac. Stevie Nicks starts out this song on her live album by saying..."This is for you, daddy".....

I took my love and I took it down
Climbed a mountain then I turned around
And I saw my reflection in the snow covered hills
'Til the landslide brought me down

Oh, mirror in the sky
What is love?
Can the child within my heart rise above
Can I sail through the changing ocean tides
Can I handle the seasons of my life....I don't know

Well, I've been afraid of changin'
'Cause I built my life around you
But time makes you bolder
Children get older
I'm getting older too

So take this love, take it down
If you climb a mountain and you turn around
If you see my reflection in the snow covered hills
Well the landslide will bring it down

And if you see my reflection in the snow covered hills...

Well maybe.....

The landslide will bring it down.

This may not reflect my life up until today, but it is very indicative of my life beginning tomorrow!

Sun, sand, music, dancing, snorkeling, luau-ing, and being lazy...oh yeah!

And probably no computers, so...when I finally sign off tonight, I'll be off for at least a week!

Yup, I started with King years ago with IT. But over time, even though I really enjoy most of his books, I've gotten bored with reading 500+ pages. Plus, he's had some really bad stories in my opinion (example: Gerald's Game). My favorite is "The Talisman" and "The Stand." I'm waiting now for the final book(s) of the Gunslinger series. I hope he manages to shorten the stories near the end.

I too discovered Kuntz about 2-3 years ago. His later writing has gotten much better. I read one of his old stories (name????) and was kind of "OMG, what's he doing writing this was?" Had some very graphic sexual content. He doesn't do that nowadays! If he has a new one out I try to grab it and read it in between semesters.

Have you read the one with the Experimenta Dog? Where the dog has a high IQ?
