COLCHESTER, Conn. -- A church in Colchester was leveled by an explosion Friday morning. St. Mary's Ukrainian Church on Route 16, also known as Linwood Ave., was flattened by the explosion just before 7 a.m., according to state police. State police spokesman, Sgt. J. Vance said there was no initial report of injuries and there was no immediate indication of what caused the explosion. The state fire marshal was called to the scene as well utility company crews.

An Orthodox church, apparently. The people in Beslan were Russian Orthodox, but closely related to these Ukrainian Orthodox.

It's my understanding that during the middle ages Ukrainian Catholic church reconciled with Rome, the Orthodox Churches came from those who would not go back to Roman Catholocism-very closely related.

FoxNews showed a helicopter view.
The building lay in wood rubble, but there didn't appear to be any signs of fire or smoke (and the explosion happened only 2 hours earlier).
It looked more like the aftermath of a tornado.

I'm just outside of Hartford area which is about 30 minutes from Colchester and have the local radio station turned on. They have updates every ten minutes so I'll keep you folks up to date. They're not letting the news media or anyone else near the site. Again, no injuries or other damage.....the building is rubble and seems to have imploded.

Keep your nose to the ground folks, 9/11 is Saturday.

We should call in the NAACP from St. Louis and the ACLU from NYC and that creep at the Southern Poverty Law Center to prove this was just an accidental explosion that leveled this Russian Christian church with no evidence of any sleeper A-Q converts in prisons involved. SPLC is too busy smearing poor southern whites to bother with al-Qaeda.

Please do. I would be very interested in what was behind this. We're good at burning down our churches, in truth, but not usually explosions.
