I've heard this online, but saw three very talented teenagers do this live, complete with a toaster used as a drum! It's GREAT!

I know you don't like my predictions, but I've got another one for you. Within 3 days, CBS will be issuing an apology over this, and within 6 months Dan Rather will announce his retirement. You could possibly hedge your bet by FAX'ing your comments to Andrew Heyward, President of CBS News, at:
Andrew Heyward -- CBS News
Title: President
Department: Headquarters
Phone: (212) 975-4321
Fax: (212) 975-1893
Address: 524 W 57th St, New York, NY 10019
My FAX to him basically asked him how long he was going to bet his job on the likes of Dan Rather, John Roberts and the folks at 60 Minutes who are acting as an arm of the Democrat National Committee.

Bush is canny enough to not personally get too involved with this. After all, one of his biggest assets is his presidential, above-politics image. A White House official should privately demand that CBS issue an explicit withdrawal and apology for the story, which would pretty much end CBS's credibility for the forseeable future (certainly until election day, which is what matters) without dragging the President into a dog-fight.

From what I have gathered, it is true that some typewriters could do it. But my understanding was that it was bit of a PITA to produce what you see in the memo, and it's unlikely that someone typing up a routine document would have bothered with what amounts to typesetting unless he was a masochist. Not only that, but if the unit had that typewriter, all their letters etc. would have been typed on it (in order to justify the expense) and none of them were. Every other letter out of that unit was ordinary type.

It's not just us anymore; "real" experts are involved now. I was late getting to this, but there are no analysts that I would trust more than those who have posting on yesterday's amd today's threads. I have been awestruck by the works produced. Free Republic just showed the old media why the internet and talk radio are the emerging new media of the 21st century.!

abc radio network hourly just ran the story, second in the lineup -- behind gratuitois anti-bush protesters wild noise (known in the biz as "natural sound") in the 8 ped 'cast. this thing has grown legs.

The White House received copies of the forged memos from CBS and "graciously" made copies and distributed them the other WH reporters without making any comment on their authenticity. It was a gotcha. CBS will blame the WH for not telling them the CBS documents were fake. The WH is laughing their butts off right now.
To: Blood of Tyrants
ABC radio has also been reporting the documents came from the Bush whitehouse. The ever impartial, Ann Compton has been reporting this all day.

This will more than likely prove to be CBS's Hitler Diaries. If CBS had any flare, they would have televised the opening of Col. Killian's safe, like Geraldo did with Capone's safe.

CBS will blame the WH for not telling them the CBS documents were fake. However, never underestimate the stupidity of the American people. Many will actually buy this spin.

Obviously, Bill Gates had copies of Killian's files early on and liked the font and formatting so well, he used them as a basis for MSWord. It's the only conclusion possible. An explanation that only an LA jury would believe. ROFL!

CBS gave the forged documents to the WH.
The WH made copies of the CBS documents and sent them to CNNABCNBCMSNBCNYTLATBG.
So yes, the WH gave the liberal media the documents.
And the liberal media are trying to coverup the fact that the WH received the original document from CBS.
It's a gotcha and the libbie media are upset.

One member of the MSM attacking another. Boy, this is a great day. They have really lost it. The days of old media controlling everything is over. Thank god.
To: Tom Bombadil
Even if this issue ends up a draw (our experts vs. your experts) we still win, since it becomes an unusable smear.
