IAFF FirePAC Educational - Treasury Labor union 1750 New York Avenue Washington, DC 20006

(Financial information for this committee was last updated on 8/9/2004)

Total Contributions $0 Total Expenditures $2,586,416

Clicking on a year's total of "Amount Raised" or "Amount Spent" yields a tab-delimited text file of that year's contributions or expenditures, which can then be saved to your computer or opened in a text editor. Please note that larger amounts may take longer to download.

Year Amount Raised Amount Spent

2000 $0 $699,067

2001 $0 $718,969

2002 $0 $791,710

2003 $0 $277,820

2004 $0 $98,850

In determining a committee's major donors and recipients, the Center grouped individual contributors together with the organizations they reported as employers. Where no employer and occupation information was provided, or where an individual reported being self-employed, the Center identified donors through their affiliations with organizations. For example, a donor listed as "XYZ Company" could include contributions directly from the company and from individuals who list XYZ as an employer, along with those individuals' spouses. The figures on this page represent contributions and expenditures since disclosure began in August 2000, or since the establishment of the particular 527 committee, if later than August 2000.

I think this might be related to a post I saw today about the IRS looking into these groups. Some of these 527s want to funnel unlimited amounts of money wherever they like but they don't want any transparency or accountability as to who their donors are and/or how much they are giving.

You know, so they can take foreign money for example to influence US elections which is against the law.

How is this legal under McCain-Feingold?

FEC doesn't have the time or manpower to investigate. Too busy trying to shut down Republican 527.

Does this sound familiar? Something about the Clinton administration and China ? Democrats could care less about the law.

Nah, I think I'll pass...

I couldn't watch him back when I had FNC and have never heard his radio show. I did try. Saw 4 or 5 shows back when he had Linda Tripp's friend on(Lucianne?).
I feel the same way about O'reilly- I just realized it sooner. I bought his first book and couldn't finish it.

Now I loved watching Sean's show with the lib.

I quit watching the ABCCBSNBCCNN tripe-spewers about 3 years ago and haven't missed it a bit. From the complaints I keep hearing here in regards to FNC, I doubt I'll ever restart my Dish subscription-especially since TNN is no more.

A ""republican 527?

Oh, yeah. /sarcasm

The repubbie's coordinate EVERYTHING explicitly and centrally from the rnc itself ... But the "independent" anti-Bush 527's are perfectly innocent of coordination.

or cross-hiring people with the Kerry campaign.

You know, I can live without a tv. I only watch fluff stuff. I've been on an AMC kick lately. The other day, I watched the original Terminator. What a great movie. I don't even have the stomach for Fox News anymore. Even Rush is behind compared to FR. It's all the same. At least I can make an informed decision on FR. We get cable for the internet connection. It's about the same cost as an extra phone line and the internet fees. Plus, we can have several users on the internet at one time, unlike a phone. And the speed is fantastic. The wealth and variation of knowledge is amazing. And, If I have a question, I just need to ask, I'll get an answer. This place is awesome!

You sound like I do. And yes, this is THE place. I drifted away for a while when I got way into a hermit mood but I'm starting to venture out of the cave lately. Alas, I'm so far out in the boonies though I doubt I'll ever have anything faster than 56K. Sux but hey, there's lot less people around here too.
