I'm being told by a reliable source that Unfit for Command may debut as number one one the NYT bestseller list. However, I do have a few questions...
1) In what week will it debut?
2) Will the NYT now have to review the book?
3) Will this affect the ability of the media to ignore it?
4) If it has been #1 on amazon, BN, etc. for quite some time, why hasn't it already hit the list?
You'll have to excuse my ignorance here, but I'm not really familiar with book list procedures at the NYT.
P.S. Please don't FReepmail me about my source - it shall remain anonymous.
Is it bigger than a breadbox?
hehehe lol!!!
Not yet, because I checked my local B&N both Tuesday and today, and it hadn't arrived yet.
Numero Uno - no wonder the rats are apoplectic.
I bought my copy the other day. It was actually pretty early in the morning at about 11am, and there were only two copies left! This is getting big!
I got mine from amazon yesterday!
I know the answer to #2. They will not have to review it. O'Reilly has had a couple at or near the top of their list, which they have ignored.
Call every book store in the local phonebook for some good fun....! I live in LA and I call all the time...It drives the Libby Bookworms nutz!
Go Vets!
I bought mine from Human Events Online. I refuse to give any business to Barnes & Noble.
I bought mine from amazon today.
But where is Kerry's book on the list?
I went to Books A Million this afternoon and was told they put the books out and they were gone immediately.
They won't have any more until Thursday.

I believe the list is updated every Friday.
Whip out that ping list!
Not sure, most likely the first list one full week after the official release. Tommy Franks book is #1 right now.
2) Will the NYT now have to review the book?
Are you nuts? (Unless Frank Rich or Maureen Dowd wants to trash the book.)
3) Will this affect the ability of the media to ignore it?
Probably not, unless they sense blood in the water.
4) If it has been #1 on amazon, BN, etc. for quite some time, why hasn't it already hit the list?
Amazon and B&N count presales. The book wasn't offically available.
Republicans read to educate themselves - Democrats watch Dan, his brother Tom and his other brother Peter (you would have had to watched Bob Newhart to understand this representation of the democrats)....
So, do the pre-sales hit all at once when the book becomes "available"? Could that be enough to make it #1?
Al Gore, Earth in the Balance

John Kerry, A Call to Service

I bought my copy today, so I'm doing my part.
