Swift Boat ads moving undecided voters to Bush
The Corner (NRO) ^ | 2004-08-11 | Tony Fabrizio

Posted on 08/11/2004 12:10:12 PM PDT by veronica

Fabrizio, McLaughlin & Associates (FMA), a Republican polling and strategic consulting firm based in Alexandria, VA, has just completed their second likely voter survey with interviews conducted ONLY in the 19 battleground states.

The battleground states are defined as those in which the Bush and Kerry campaigns have been focusing their paid media efforts throughout the campaign.

Nearly 6 in 10 likely voters claim that they that they recently saw, read or heard something about the TV ad “Swift Boat Veterans for Truth” released and began airing in several key battleground states questioning the truthfulness of Senator Kerry’s Vietnam War record.

Among those who claimed to have seen, read or heard something about the ad, a majority overall and among undecided voters said it would not impact their vote either way.

However to the extent it did impact voting intentions, it was a negative for Sen. Kerry by as much as nearly a 3 to 1 margin.

“Make no mistake -- controversy surrounding potential “dirty laundry” still sells in American politics and this is a sterling example of it. But most surprising is that despite Sen. McCain’s swift and very public repudiation of this ad and the lingering questions on the veracity of the charges, it still ends up being a net negative for Kerry – especially among crucial undecided voters.

In a close race where every little bit counts, Kerry can’t afford to sustain too many minor hits like this.” said Tony Fabrizio, who served as chief pollster for Bob Dole’s ’96 Presidential campaign.

The ad is just a teaser for the book. Once the book is out, big money is going to roll into SBV's coffers.

Note that those who actually saw the AD were impressd.....that's one reason the Kerry Kamp wants it taken off the air.

These Swift Vets come across sincere & credible. They are risking everything to tell the truth!

The worst lie wasn't the self inflicted PHs or the Cambodian Christmas but that all of our brave warriors were 'war criminals'!

Kerry forgot this when he decided to make "I'm a Vietnam 'War Hero'" the centerpiece of his campaign......

"Life is not like a box of chocolates. Life is like a jar of jalapeños.........
What you do today may burn your butt tomorrow."

The worst of the current wave of attacks is coming from a Republican-funded group called "Swift Boat Veterans for Truth." (I'll call them by a more accurate name: Swift Boat Veterans for Bush.) So I guess "Truth" and "Bush" are synonymous.

If he doesn't win, he may have an episode of severe depression. His whole life has been aimed at one goal, becoming president.

Yes. Kerry hurt these men, he tried to make them feel their service to our nation was unworthy, that they were war criminals, etc., and all of them have suffered because of kerry's actions after he returned to America.

So they suffered twice-once having to serve with a coward who ran when the going got tough and then lied about it, and then, later, as Vietnam Vets shunned by so many in our nation, a sentiment kerry helped to hone.

And now---it looks as if they will have to suffer a third time.

That is WHERE ALL OF US COME IN.

Our contribution of five, ten or more dollars will HELP these good men understand that many of us are right there behind them now, believing them and understanding what they are trying to do for America.

And as for John Kerry-may he reap, royally, what he sowed.

People forget, this is all happening when most people are not paying attention. It is still vacation time and a lot of people don't pay attention until the kids go back to school.

Kerry is toast. That you Swift Boat People.

It will be interisting to see how they come up with an alternative.

Even thought the kerry loving media has tried to spike the Swift Vets.....between the internet, cable & letters to the editor.....I'd say the truth is getting around!
