Anti-Kerry Vietnam Veterans Hold Strong |
The following statement from Swift Boat Veterans for Truth is in response to an article appearing in the morning edition of the Boston Globe ("Veteran Retracts Criticism of Kerry") which implies that one Vietnam Veteran wishes to retract an affidavit he signed regarding John Kerry's actions during and after Kerry's time in Vietnam. The signed affidavit can be seen below.
"Captain George Elliott describes an article appearing in today's edition of the Boston Globe by Mike Kranish as extremely inaccurate and highly misstating his actual views. He reaffirms his statement in the current advertisement paid for by the Swift Boat Veterans for Truth, Captain Elliott reaffirms his affidavit in support of that advertisement, and he reaffirms his request that the ad be played. [See both affidavits below.] "Additional documentation will follow. The article by Mr. Kranish is particularly surprising given page 102 of Mr. Kranish's own book quoting John Kerry as acknowledging that he killed a single, wounded, fleeing Viet Cong soldier whom he was afraid would turn around. "Swift Boat Veterans for Truth has more than 250 supporters who are revealing first hand, eyewitness accounts of numerous incidents concerning John Kerry's military service record. The organization will continue to discuss much of what John Kerry has reported as fact concerning his four-month tour of duty in Vietnam." |

Media trying to cause a split in the Swifties
which serves to prove their effectiveness.
I believe the Swift Boat Vets!....HANG TOUGH...it is a piece of cake..compared to your Viet Nam tours. The truth will be known, and John Kerry will be exposed. I lived in Taxachusetts for 19 years, and I know that John Kerry and Ted Kennedy are really just big fish in the Massachusetts pond, let's keep it that way.
Perhaps FOX had some hint that the GLOBE story was false. Perhaps they called the GLOBE and let them know that they had concerns and asking if they still stand by their story. Perhaps the GLOBE, despite FOX's warning that there might be problems with the story, stood by a false story.
Now the story has several dimensions. Not only did the SwiftVets stand by their story, but the GLOBE seems to have gone to great lengths not only to publish a false story but to confirm its accuracy for other news outlets. This would increase any liability on the part of the GLOBE.
Suitable retractions would have to be more widespread and last longer to make up for the damaged reputation of the victim of the false reporting. This might be a good thing.
"I think Fox is laying low for the time being until all the facts are straight.
I believe they know this is potentially powerful and want their ducks in a row before they launch it."
Yup! Solidify what is or isn't in the book, let the left bitch more about it, highlight the competing forces and, in the process, make the MSM have to either refuse to run the ad or eventually have to explain their refusal.
The key to this is not to run the ad on tv but on internet sites coupled with a grassroots flyer campaign (drop-offs, not handouts)
Of course internet sites can refuse running ads so clever teases via leaflets, bumper stickers, signs could very well be the prime way to reach those that are on the fence or not even being close to being a part of the choir....yet! Wow, all this beautiful technology and yet the Gutenberg(?)-way may prove the most effective.
To clarify. The whole PR campaign highlights the Swift Boat Vets site itself. To get them there is the key - once there, the ad does a good job to set a tone which therefore hopefully prompts the individual to checkout a few articles that are on sites not in their favorites list. If all goes well, off they go to buy the book.
Luckily, "misinformed voters" who are too lazy to search out the real story, often are too lazy to go out and cast a vote. That's why I think the pols are so often wrong, they assume that these people will actually vote.
On the other hand, many voters are hearing exactly what they want to hear, so it doesn't matter what the media says.
Where it hurts is with unsuspecting voters who actually do vote, unaware of the media's true intentions.
All I can hope for is that there are more of us than of them. I'm growing ever more optimistic, since the mainstream media's rating numbers (and therefore impact) continue to decline.

Did you happen to catch Stacey Taylor
subbing for Roger Hedgecock today?
He had on the veterans from both sides
and did an abysmally poor job.
Those proKerry vets are coached extremely well
and I was surprised Stacey Taylor let them get
away with so much air time.
Roger certainly wouldn't have.
I still don't know why the DNC couldn't do better than Kerry. He just has too much negative baggage.
In every hour of the day they lie.
Thanks for the ping!
Thanks for the link!!!
No problem!
Hopefully people will be able to use em!
I'm sure they'll be helpful! Thanks!

I Agree.
"I know, I read that the new news editor that they hired a couple of months ago, came from CNN or someplace almost as bad. I think that he is sabotaging FOX."
JFKerry is well connected at Fox.
First off being Catholic makes him "blood" brothers to his fellow Catholics in the so called field of journalism.
JFKerry and Brit Hume went to elementary school together, and I understand Hume is Catholic.
NO I am not accusing a Catholic conspiracy.
Orielly is a Catholic, however, he is dumber than a stump when it comes to what is actually written in the Bible. Orielly apparently has known JFKerry for a very long time and has claimed to be friends with him.
Greta's husband works for the JFKerry campaign.
One of the top dogs at Fox has recently come out for JFKerry and this week some crybaby liberal dims in Congress tried to grind an axe with Fox News Cable.
Looks to me that the "journalist" have been caught with their collective pants around their ankles and have not done their homework.
Hannity is the only one who has a daily show that has given any credibility to what the Swiftvets have to say.
I haven't seen where Elliot has stated that the Boston Globe reporter lied, or that Elliot has clarified any misunderstandings. He needs to do this.
