The RNC has a new website for the documentary of Kerry's flip-flops on the Iraq war, www.kerryoniraq.com. The documentary has been updated to include footage of Kerry's nomination acceptance speech. At the site, you can request a copy of the documentary to show to friends and neighbors, report on screenings of the documentary, get a transcript of the film, and submit a review
The site already has some killer reviews from the debut last week:
Rudy Giuliani, Former Mayor Of New York City: "Every American Should See This." "The tape that I saw before, which I urge Ed to show to every American because I think every American should see this... On that tape John Kerry explains his vote against the 87 billion dollar appropriation. And these are John Kerry's words, I quote, and nothing could tell you more about him than this quote. He says, I quote, I voted for the appropriation before I voted against it. Does that tell you everything you need to know about John Kerry's record in the United States Senate?" Sen. Norm Coleman (R-MN): "It's A Great Video. That's What Should Be Shown At [The DNC] Convention." (Sen. Norm Coleman, Remarks At Republican Press Conference, Boston, MA, 7/27/04) Watch his remarks here!: Real Player | Windows
Former NYPD Commissioner Bernard Kerik: Kerrys Uncertainty Makes Video "Scary" And "Extremely Difficult To Watch." "Former NYPD Commissioner Bernard Kerik, in Boston to stump for President Bush, saw the 11-minute video yesterday and called it scary and extremely difficult to watch. This is a time when you dont need someone to sit in the White House and not be sure of [his] commitment, Kerik said." (Kenneth Lovett, "Kerry Stars As Flipper In GOP Tape," The New York Post, 7/29/04) Watch his remarks here!: Real Player | Windows
Michael Barone, U.S. News And World Report: A "Devastating" Video. "The Bush strategists proclaim that even before their convention at the end of August they'll make the case that Kerry's resolute words about defending America are undercut by the resolute statements he's made on all sides of the Iraq issue in the past--compiled by the Republicans in a devastating 11-minute video." (Michael Barone, "Kerrys Risky Video," U.S. News And World Report, Accessed 8/2/04)
Jeff Jacoby, Boston Globe: "Remarkable Video." "It is a remarkable video -- both for the sheer number of Kerry's lurches on the war and because of the adamance with which he expresses incompatible views." (Jeff Jacoby, "Kerry's Missing Compass," Boston Globe, 7/29/04)
Kenneth Lovett, New York Post: "A Powerful Video." "Republicans yesterday released a powerful video that uses Sen. John Kerrys own words to document his flip-flopping positions on the war in Iraq." (Kenneth Lovett, "Kerry Stars As Flipper In GOP Tape," New York Post, 7/29/04)
John Kass, Chicago Tribune: "A Humorous Republican Documentary On John Kerrys Flip-Flopping On Iraq." "The last time I heard that joyous theme to the old TV show Flipper - about the smart-alecky dolphin and his boy, But - I was a kid, walking back to school after a lunch of grilled cheese and Campbells cream of tomato soup. But there it was again Wednesday, during the airing of a humorous Republican documentary on John Kerrys flip-flopping on Iraq as he angled for the Democratic nomination." (John Kass, Op-Ed, "Flipper Video Tweaking Kerry Wont Be A Flop," Chicago Tribune, 7/29/04)
Los Angeles Times: Video Portrayed Kerry As "Inconsistent And Indecisive." "Republicans sought to spotlight Kerrys record on Iraq by releasing a video Wednesday that portrayed him as inconsistent and indecisive - an attack launched as Democrats formally nominated him as their presidential candidate." (Janet Hook, Mary Curtius and Greg Miller, "Why A Conflicted Kerry Voted Yes - And Later No - On Iraq," Los Angeles Times, 7/29/04)
Newsweek: Video "Chronicles Kerrys Rhetorical Gyrations On Iraq." "The video chronicles Kerrys rhetorical gyrations on Iraq: at one point in September 2002 the Massachusetts senator sounded almost like Vice President Dick Cheney when he told Face the Nation that war could be justified on the grounds that Saddam might miscalculate and slide these weapons [of mass destruction] off to terrorist groups; asked by Chris Matthews earlier this year whether he was one of the antiwar candidates, Kerry said, I am, yeah." (Mark Hosenball, "Boston Blog," Newsweek, Accessed 7/29/04)
Pittsburgh Post-Gazette: Video Is "Nothing But Kerry Giving His Position-Of-The-Moment On The Iraq War." "Yesterdays press conferences were designed around the release of a 10-minute GOP documentary that features nothing but Kerry giving his position-of-the-moment on the Iraq War." ("GOP Monitoring Democrats From Occasionally Disclosed Location," Pittsburgh Post-Gazette, 7/29/04)
Roland Watson, The [London] Times: "A Blistering Assault On John Kerrys Tortured Record On Iraq." "After three days of relentless Democrat attacks on President Bushs handling of the war on terrorism, the Republican high command hit back yesterday with a blistering assault on John Kerrys tortured record on Iraq. It released an 11-minute video culled from interviews over the past three years in which Mr. Kerry struggles to be either coherent or consistent." (Roland Watson, "Republicans Wade Into Kerrys Iraq Confusion," The [London] Times, 7/29/04)
The Washington Post: Video Shows Kerrys "Evolving Rhetoric On Iraq." "As part of the Republican argument that Kerry cannot be trusted to handle intelligence or terrorism, the party on Wednesday will e-mail 8 million supporters a 12-minute video compiling clips from debates and interviews showing Kerrys evolving rhetoric on Iraq." (Jim VandeHei And Charles Babington, "Kerry Calls For Panels Extension," The Washington Post, 7/28/04)
