Catholics in political life have the responsibility to exemplify in their public service this teaching of the Church, and to work for the protection of all innocent life. There can be no contradiction between the values bestowed by Baptism and the Catholic Faith, and the public expression of those values. Catholic public officials who consistently support abortion on demand are cooperating with evil in a public manner. By supporting pro-abortion legislation they participate in manifest grave sin, a condition which excludes them from admission to Holy Communion as long as they persist in the pro-abortion stance (cf. Canon 915).

More Bias and spin in the many newspaper articles to protect the liberal democrat. Kerry provided NO evidence of an annulment and he was married to Heinz, his second wife worth Billions, in the back yard of a home on Martha's Vineyard which is not ordinarily allowed for Catholics and there is also NO evidence of any RC priest who married them.
I wish the reporters would question him for the truth. Dream on.

Catholics Against Kerry
1400 Ecclesial communities derived from the Reformation and separated from the Catholic Church, "have not preserved the proper reality of the Eucharistic mystery in its fullness, especially because of the absence of the sacrament of Holy Orders."236 It is for this reason that Eucharistic intercommunion with these communities is not possible for the Catholic Church. However these ecclesial communities, "when they commemorate the Lord's death and resurrection in the Holy Supper . . . profess that it signifies life in communion with Christ and await his coming in glory."237
Can. 844 §1. Catholic ministers administer the sacraments licitly to Catholic members of the Christian faithful alone, who likewise receive them licitly from Catholic ministers alone, without prejudice to the prescripts of §§2, 3, and 4 of this canon, and ⇒ can. 861, §2.

That's our Archbishop!
He is one tough customer. I am SO thankful he is here, such a contrast to the wishy-washy heretic bishop of the Episcopal Diocese of Atlanta, our former church.
His faithful orthodoxy and leadership were a major factor in our decision to join the Catholic church.
Unfortunately, he's on the brink of retirement in the next few years.
All you long-time Catholics, what can we do to encourage the Holy Father to send us another one just like Abp. Donoghue?
If the recent past is any indication, that's about all we'll be getting for the rest of this pontificate.
That line about the hamster is a great one. You get the point across in one sentence and then walk away and let them think about it for a second. Of course the liberals say that they can't vote for Bush because he sent troops to Iraq to kill children, sadly, they are deluded.
That seems clear.

How do you think this will affect Mayor Riley?
Is he a pro-abortion Catholic? I don't know much about him, I live in Florence.
Florence! - It's like Peoria...without all the bright lights and glitter.
Since the CDC has kept statistics in 1969 over 41 million lives have been snuffed out. That is roughly 4 times the number of lives that were taken during the holocaust. It is about time that the religious leaders, Catholic or not, speak out.......
But Florence sounds so romantic...
According to my daughter, who lives in CHS, Riley is a pro-abortion Catholic. He's been mayor of Charleston for about a million terms.
Everyone assumes it was named after Florence, Italy.
Florence began as a railroad depot and an inn. It lies at the intersection of three rail lines. (One still in use today.) The town started as a plot of 577 acres as a grant from the state. In 1859 Jerome P. Chase, a telegraph operator arrived and became a successful businessman, selling insurance and real estate and he became known as the "Father of Florence." The town was named for his daughter, Florence.
.....am I off-topic again?
Thanks Coleus for all your research -- keep us informed of any other bishops that step forward.
God bless
