Hey, the guy who wrote that article lives only a few miles from me!
Commander Sherman sounded like a great guy on the phone.
I couldn't disagree with him more!
Oh, may it be so, our Great King and our God! In Thy Name, I plead for this to happen, O God!
"Paul Galanti Speaks Out on Kerry" By John M. Glionna Los Angeles Times 02-20-2004
Although tired of the John Kerry subject, I think the world of our returned POWs and am interested in their perspective in regards to Mr. Kerry. Today I came across an article from the Cincinnati Post quoting ex-POW and former U.S. Navy pilot, Commander Paul Galanti, USN (Ret):
Paul Galanti learned of Kerry's speech while held captive inside North Vietnam's infamous "Hanoi Hilton" internment camp. The Navy pilot had been shot down in June 1966 and spent nearly seven years as a prisoner of war.
During torture sessions, he said, his captors cited the antiwar speeches as "an example of why we should cross over to (their) side."
"The Viet Cong didn't think they had to win the war on the battlefield," Galanti said, "because thanks to these protesters they were going to win it on the streets of San Francisco and Washington."
He says Kerry broke a covenant among servicemen never to make public criticisms that might jeopardize those still in battle or in the hands of the enemy. Because he did, Galanti said, "John Kerry was a traitor to the men he served with."
Now retired and living in Richmond, Va., Galanti, 64, refuses to cool his ire toward Kerry. "I don't plan to set it aside. I don't know anyone who does," he said. "The Vietnam Memorial has thousands of additional names due to John Kerry and others like him."
Galanti's military decorations include the Silver Star, Two Legions of Merit for combat, the Meritorious Service Medal, the Bronze Star for combat, nine Air Medals, the Navy Commendation Medal for combat and two Purple Hearts.
I read it with my fake Kerry voice. Makes it better.
bump
BZ Commander.
What squadron? What time frame?
I was with VQ-1 Det Bravo, Danang from April-December '68.
Flew C-121 Super Connies and A-3's. The VQ birds were out of Atsugi, Japan. We (The "Big Look" Spooks) were all out of NCS San Miguel, PI and Kami Seya, Japan.
We lost our fair share due to mortar attacks, shoot-downs, and crashes, but for the most part, we all made it back.
Regardless of the election outcome, John Kerry will never be my CINC. I won't stand when he enters the room, I won't salute him, I won't shake his hand. Hell, I wouldn't walk across the street to piss on him if he was on fire!!!!!
Jeremiah Denton, however, I would follow to the back of beyond.
I'm jealous. I was a little girl when I first heard of him. Since then I've always hoped that some day I'll be able to meet him. What an honor that would be!
Doug,
Didn't read far enough down the post. Thought I was responding to the CDR. Sorry about that......
Forgive me if I should know, but do they have a specific plan to blast through the media blockade? I will head over to their site to look for contribution opportunities, I want to help them in any possible way.
I just read it again, thinking of how it would sound in the Basset Hounds's Voice; LOL!! Thank you for posting your Fantastic poems, my Freeper Friend!
bump to the top
"Who caught that he was doing that?"
I am old enough to remember this, but it's long enough ago that things are fuzzy. The VC released film of our guys to demoralize us. One of the films was of Denton and I remember seeing it on the nightly news where they described that he was blinking in Morse Code. Presumably, the military studies these films carefully and someone picked up on the Code. It was riveting and chilling. Denton has my eternal admiration. John Kerry betrayed him and all the others. I wouldn't forgive him either.
Amen Brother!!!
We are winning ~ the bad guys are losing ~ trolls, terrorists, democrats and the mainstream media are sad ~ very sad!
Excellent anti-Kerry video laying out the VietNam case against him...
Great to forward and spread to the public.

Kerry Fitness Reports in Vietnam Show Him Unfit for Command
(Explodes Central Kerry Campaign Lie)
Kerrys FITREPs are awash in dings, and some of the reports border on the adverse, particularly his combat FITREPs. The FITREPs convey significant performance problems and suggest problems in conduct, so much so that it is surprising that the campaign chose to release them. This may suggest that the FITREPs held from public view are even more adverse.
In what would customarily be an opportunity for a glowing swan song FITREP, the Commanding Officer of USS Gridley (DLG-21) tacitly blasts Kerry on his departure for Swift Boat duty by ranking him significantly below the norm in desirability for virtually every Navy assignment possible - command, staff, whatever. He is a ship handler who is dinged in ship handling. He is in line for command, but his CO doesnt want him near the bridge. He is slammed in all performance areas - most notably and significantly in initiative and reliability. The nice narrative emphasizes performance in collateral duties, but in the grades and marks, the CO is telling the selection board and detailer loud and clear that this officer is lazy, unreliable and not suited for command. 3 SEP 68 (W.E. HARPER).
but will the media give them a voice Doug?
I've never ever seen the media carry water like they are for Kerry.
