Posted on 07/20/2004 5:54:43 PM PDT by silverleaf

Why did Sandy Berger smuggle highly classified documents past security guards? Perhaps this will shed some light.

Why did he steal copies of the after-action reports he commmissioned Richard Clarke to write when the Millenium terror plot was fortuitously disrupted? Why would he steal copies of highly classified reports detailing our homeland security vulnerabilities to future terror attack?

Personal enrichment perhaps?

Check out this consulting venture. And check out the Board. Just in case you wondered what Richard Clarke was up to these days.

Don't forget, he was also F'ings lapdog, trying to weasle into another administration. You can bet your bottom dollar that much of what he got was copied and given to Camp Better-Hair to try to get dirt on the Bush camp, as well as C his own A...

So Berger's the partner to:
MICHAEL J. HERSHMAN. Prior to the launch of Civitas, Mr. Hershman was President and CEO of Decision Strategies, an international security advisory firm. Mr. Hershman is internationally recognized expert in the security and counter-terrorism fields, with proven capability handling complex and challenging investigative, private intelligence and security assignments worldwide. He is also an expert in ethics and good governance. Prior to launching his consulting firm, Hershman served as Deputy Auditor General for the Foreign Assistance Program of the U.S. Agency for International Development and in the 1970s was a Senior Staff Investigator with the Senate Watergate Committee and then as Chief Investigator for a joint Presidential and Congressional commission reviewing state and federal laws on wiretapping and electronic surveillance.

He's carrying on Hillary's tradition of FBI Files and Rose Law Firm papers.

AND he says this is an "honest mistake."

BULL!!!

My take is Berger was trying to freshen up the Clinton legacy. They didn't want it to tank any further with damaging information.

The other possibility is he was planing to commit treason and sell this information to the enemy.

somehow, I envision Heaven and hell as being as synonymously capable as those two statements.

Great sleuthing!

Berger is the fall guy for Clinton/Albright.

He and Clarke cooked this up and all the evidence points to a massive coverup.

Sandy: whatever you do, don't get caught. If you do, don't say a word - Lanny Davis via CNN will be dispatched ASAP to provide your talkin points. And no finger prints. Down the pants, sure that'll work. They don't print well down there.

Until I see something concrete, the reporting of what Sandy did is more pistachio nuts. I've been down this road to many times to underestimate them.

ANother possibility is that should another attack happen on the Bush watch, they can blame him with no reprecussions on the Clinton Admin.

It really depends what was in those files and memos. Is it possible that, had he been briefed on the info by the Clintons, 3000 US citizens might not have died?

IMHO - he was stealing findings so Kerry could announce them and look like a genius when the 9/11 circus announces their recommendations.

Not to throw cold water, but he took copies. The originals were still there for the 9/11 commission to see.

I think he was planning a book, and needed the actual quotes to lend some credibility to it.

Interesting. From the look of it political opportunism, the major cottage industry of DC,crosses party lines. It would appear that the objective is the same as always: Power without accountability.

Let's see where this leads to. Does Berger go down? If so how many and who will go with him?

Sure Sinky, everybody goes around stealing Gov property to write a book. BTW, what your source for the book info?
