Need Help From Freeper Females (vanity)

Some of the guys and I are presently at the camping lodge and we’ve got a problem that requires the help of a sensible woman. My brother-in-law managed to get something in his hair this morning, and he wanted to wash it out. I can’t tell you what that something was, because he’s refused to divulge that to us thus far (I suspect that he fabricated the “tainted hair” theory to save himself some embarrassment.)

My brother-in-law believes that his wife has, at some point, told him that peanut butter is a useful household hair cleaner / conditioner. His wife animately denied ever saying anything about peanut butter, and thinks that he must have confused it with mayonnaise. Anyway, this guy has gone from a docile gentlemen to a ranting idiot and he’s now in a state of full blown panic.

Please provide us with any suggestions that you may have for removing peanut butter from hair. If possible, we’d like to know of any “home remedies” that may work – we’re in a fairly remote location and nobody is willing to go to the store. Besides looking ridiculous, he smells horrible. Here’s what we’ve tried so far:

A) Tried to “melt” it away by pouring very hot water over his head. This basically resulted in mild burns to his neck and scalp.
B) Made a makeshift shower cap out of a Wal-Mart bag, taped it around his head to make it watertight, and poured beer in a small hole at the top. He let it soak for about an hour to no avail.

Anything that you can suggest would be most appreciated.

Jaysun

If he is so embarrassed about what he got stuck in his hair, well......alone in the woods....a bunch of guys.....and embarrassed....well, do the math.

Something involving a bodily function is involved here I think....

Naaa... That just means they've all been married for a few years and jump at every opportunity to get away from the nagging wives. ;-)

I used to party with dudes like this.

I seem to recall you partied a lot back when I first met you here. On the weekends, you never showed up until after all the bars closed.

Jaysun, please please add me to the picture ping!

You know, this could be the thread that never ends. If we bump it once in awhile I think you'll be getting suggestions for years about how to cure the problem that no longer exists.

Has anyone checked your BIL to see if there's a host on his head now? Might be another way to make a little cash on the deal if his head became a religious icon.

Whatever he got in his hair, use the same thing to get it out unless it is a squashed slug! Nothing will get that out but a set of clippers.

Are there any pictures yet? I only read through the first fifty posts.

You must ping me to this thread if there are any updates. I want to know when they finally give in and shave the guy's head. And have they disclosed what the original substance is?

Thanks for the ping. A good laugh indeed!!!!

and here's one more please, but I must say I'm more interested in a picture of you, I think. Anyone who writes as well and witty as you do I'd love to see!

That's very nice of you. I'll add you to the ping list. My wife emailed me a few pictures:

I'm always disappointed when I see someone for the first time after I've talked to them on the phone or net for an extended period of time. I don't know about you guys, but the people that I speak to on the phone never look the way that I envision them. It's shocking to see someone that sounds like Rush on the phone, but looks like Robert Byrd in real life. I have to remind myself not to get mad at whoever it is I'm meeting. I try to "sneak a peek" at them so that I'll have time to sort it out in private. I usually just run the problems under my breath, "Damn him! He's supposed have a long white beard and a tan. But nooooooo. He has to be an obese guy with a handlebar mustache." Then I calmly walk over to the person and start the meeting. I guess the point is this: If you envisioned me as snake charmer with a goatee, I'm sorry.

I once had a teenager call me with application of surgiwax ( the stuff women use to wax their legs and bikini areas) to his entire head of fairly long hair. He wanted the shaved look without shaving. I was tempted to tell him something like twist it into a wick and light it but good judgement won out. If he was stupid enough to use the wax in the first place he just might follow a smart a$$ suggestion. Law suit flashed infront of my eyes. I told him to use a hair dryer on warm to soften and then peel it in sections.

LOL! Hey, maybe the idiot species won't go extinct when my brother-in-law dies. The heat trick seems perfectly logical to me. Hence the boiling water trick that we tried.
