The DC Chapter of Free Republic set up a Viet-Cong Vets for Kerry bake sale in front of Democrat Presidential candidate John Kerry's national headquarters in Washington DC this afternoon. The Kerry campaign responded by calling the D.C. police to shut down the bake sale.
When the D.C. police arrived they ordered the DC Chapter to shut down the protest in 15 minutes or they would ticket them for occupying a public space without a permit. At that point the police would then disperse them themselves.
Due to the short notice, and the fact that it would be a small group, the DC Chapter did not apply for a permit.
Kristinn is scheduled to appear on Fox News this afternoon for an in-studio interview. The interview should air sometime between 3:00 pm and 6:00 pm today. As more details become available, they will posted here.
Kudos to those that attended. The honor roll is Kristinn, Angelwood, TGSLTakoma, TBP, Trueblackman, and Staytrue.
Here is the link to the original announcement about the bake sale

I was merely complimenting your outstandingly realistic Anti-KERRY VC Bake Sale today. No wonder the KERRY-ites called the Cops on ya'll to split from their sight. Truth hurts the untruthfull.
JOHN KERRY's widely covered Anti-American Soldier Testimony before the U.S. Senate's Fulbright Committee in 1971 banashed a lot of returning Vietnam Veterans to the ranks of our nation's Homeless population for decades.

Buttons...bumper stickers...someone put up a great one on a thread last week. I'll try to find it and see about making up some buttons.
By the way, the proprietor of one of the shops offered us the use of his facilities and water. He also told us that he had a bumper sticker on his car -- KERRY - FONDA - 2004. We didn't see it, but somehow it sounds familiar!

OTOH, maybe it was the fact that a table was set up. My guess is that the table and the "sale" were the issue. If they weren't "for sale" I'm not sure that there would be an issue.
What's the law about handing out cookies?
We could have claimed that in both sales, MoveOn's and FR's, the muffins were free. MoveOn had to charge $3.00 in taxes that Kerry wants and we gave you one free because Bush cut the tax on it.

JOHN KERRY's widely covered Anti-American Soldier Testimony before the U.S. Senate's Fulbright Committee in 1971 banashed a lot of returning Vietnam Veterans to the ranks of our nation's Homeless population for decades. Amen. I hold him mostly responsible for the shabby treatment our Vietnam veterans got upon returning. He needs to be called to the carpet on this publicly. The really sad part is he likely sees himself as some sort of patriotic whistleblower. The key problem is that either he made it all up, in which case he lied to congress under oath, or he willfully particiapted in and ignored wartime atrocities, and he should be brought up on charges. He is a sick man. I think it goes beyond even Al Gore's delusional statements, eg. "I invented the internet", I discovered Love Canal", "Love Story was written about me and Tipper", etc.

11PM FoxNews News just reported on MoveOn.com Kerry bake sales of Bash Bush Brownies.
Then the newscaster added the DC Chapter of FreeRepublic.com counted the Kerry Bake Sales with their own sale of Jane Fonda Nutcakes & Kerry Flip-Flops....while showing a table full of treats!
