The exquisite pain from trying to walk in that particular shoe style is the wearer's own reward, LOL.

Good for them. At least this shows their maturity and compassion! They are beautiful girls and George and Laura should be proud of them!

Theater of the absurd. More modest dress was called for. It ain't about the Bush girls. It's about our wounded boys and gals and their being uplifted.

Well .. maybe the Bush babes uplifted some of the guys with thier Easter outfits! Heh!

I admire the girls for doing their part to visit the sick and wounded from the war effort. Believe me, knowing what passes for fashion out there today, they could have been dressed a LOT worse!

I wouldn't doubt that they dressed that way specifically to irritate Mom and Dad.

You cats want to pull the claws in a bit??? I think they look very cute and I am sure the troops were excited to see them. So what if they don't dress like "good" Republicans?

Pray for W and Our Troops

Goodness gracious! Much ado about nothing.

Are some of y'all really this concerned about how two 22-year-olds are dressed? They'll grow up. Let's put things in perspective here.

Some of you sound like the dour old gossip mongers that are prevalent and every office, everywhere.

Lighten up! Don't sweat such small stuff.

Mm.... I would not want to be a parent to that blonde! She looks as if she could be a real handful. Flashing eyes and a narrow forehead = plenty of fights with mom and dad.

From what I can tell, though, Bush is doing a pretty good job with them.

Was it a treat for the soldiers to be visited by the President and his lovely daughters? Yes

Were the clothes appropriate? They were dressed for Sunday services in dresses. The jean jacket was probably for a sudden chill and the Jenna's sweater covered her as well.

Should they have worn slips? Yes. But they also could have forgotten.

Were the shoes appropriate? Yes. Why wouldn't they be? They weren't tennis shoes. They were heels to wear with dresses.

Do I think it's low class and disgusting for people who claim to be of such high caliber to talk about rumors of Jenna being a falling down drunk, and that could be how she scraped her knee? Absolutely

Ask yourself this. Would a soldier injured fighting for freedom care if the gals forgot their slips and that their heels were too high, or were they happy to see the president and his family pay their respects for our wounded in battle?

Then get on your knees and thank God that we live in the greatest country on earth and try not to scrape your knees on the way back up.

Their choice on fashion is a tad on the slutty side. Then again, they often make the headlines ... for all the wrong reasons. Flame away at me!

I'm sure this has already been said many times, but I doubt and of the servicemen they visisted had any problem with the way either of them are dressed. And isn't that really the more important issue?

They are young. They should dress young while they can. Everyone made fun of Chelsea Clinton for dressing like she was 65 and now everyone is making fun of these girls for dressing like they are 22.

They can comfort me anytime. Anytime.

I know they can both be bad girls at times, and that's wrong, but I don't care. I love those two girls. Love love love. They are hot.

Unbelievable. These young ladies are out to help our troops, and we're bitchin' about what they're wearing. Makes me sad.

The blonde one looks okay, I guess - she should have worn white, close-toed heels tho, and maybe white hose. And lost the flowy thing she's wearing on top of her dress. Now, the jeans jacket with the dress - gaaaaaaa !! Ugly ! You don't have to be up on fashion to see that it looked absolutely wrong together. My 15 y/o daughter ( the fashion plate ) would have never walked out of the house looking like that, that's definately NOT " the style " these days. That twin looks like she just doesn't care.

Barbara (L) and Jenna Bush, the daughters of U.S. President George W Bush, walk together from the Darnall Army Community Hospital in Fort Hood, Texas, April 11, 2004

Here's a contrast:

During Bill's first year in the White house, Chelsea was assigned a specific sedan to ride in for a state function, as was everyone else. The driver held the door open and she backed out , turned, and said, "I won't ride in this car! There's a military man in there, and I don't ride with military men.!" The senior officer calmly got out of the car and found another vehicle to ride in. In another incident, Chelsea asked the Marine escorting her to school to wear civilian clothes in the future, not his uniform because, "My family doesn't like military people." In yet another incident, Lt. General Barry McCaffrey had been summoned to the White house. As he was leaving, he encounterd a young woman who was a member of the White house staff. General McCaffrey smiled and said "Good morning." She replied , "I don't speak to the military." U.S. News & World Report 3/15/93; Sunday Telegraph of London 4/1/93; The Buffalo News, 4/14/93.

"During Clinton's first year in office, an incident occurred which was buried by the news media. The occasion was a departure for a state function, a routine operation. Vehicles were lined up outside the White House... Young Chelsea Clinton, like everyone else, was assigned a specific sedan. But when Chelsea was about to get into her limo, she turned around and declared, 'I won't ride in this car! There's a military man in here, and I don't ride with military men!'" - Lt. Col. Tom McKenney in the 1994 book, "The Clinton Chronicles"

"My family doesn't like military people." - Chelsea Clinton; quoted in Truth In Media; Jan. 18, 1998 issue.

Chelsea also refered to her Secret Service bodyguards as her "personally trained pigs"

Pure class, the Bush Daughters are.
