Barbara (L) and Jenna Bush, the daughters of U.S. President George W Bush, walk together from the Darnall Army Community Hospital in Fort Hood, Texas, April 11, 2004 after President Bush (news - web sites) and members of his family visited with soldiers wounded in Iraq (news - web sites). Bush awarded 10 purple hearts to troops recovering in the hospital, after attending an Easter Sunday Church service at a chapel within the army base in central Texas.

You cats want to pull the claws in a bit??? I think they look very cute and I am sure the troops were excited to see them. So what if they don't dress like "good" Republicans?

What the hell is with their mother doesn't she see thisHellooooo, when was the last time a teenager took fashion advise from their, eeewww, mother??? Just be thankful they didn't wear tight shirts that show belly buttons and jeans with waists so low they're all but showing Christmas.
To: bray
I love her smile. She definately inherited THAT from her Father.

As expected you have exposed yourself with an indecent comment, troll.

Are you guys nuts? These ladied are in college...you are delusional! All their friends are probably in grubby t-shirts with filthy lettering, jeans with huge holes in them, multiple piercings, tattoos, black lipstick and nail polish...
You guys gotta understand that these college girls are "dressed up" in comparison...
And although I would prefer they dress nicer, in the end, they live at school, their mom and dad live in Washington, and have little control over their college age children. What are you gonna do, ground them?

"cute them down"?
I think they look very good and I am not cutting them down, but for heaven's sake, anyone who has any class at all cannot help but notice that they are both looking trashy in those clothes. It is the clothes that I am taking issue with, not the girls. Mom should tell her kids to dress correctly when the girls are attending family events. Sure the girls are not kids anymore, but as long as Mom and Dad are footing the bills for their education, the girls need to heed their parents advice.
I would think that Barbara has more trouble at Yale than Jenna does at Texas, since nearly everyone at Yale is a rabid liberal, while at least some students at Texas are conservative.

I admire the girls for doing their part to visit the sick and wounded from the war effortTrue. What were Chelsea and the Kerry kids doing yesterday?
To: Demetrius Slaughter
What are you the fashion police. These girls are dressed very well for their age. I guess you just don't get out much.

"I see many young girls dress like them."
I see many dressed even worse, with pants half way down their butts and covered with tattoos and piercings, but that doesn't make it right.
My daughter, who is a junior at Rice, attended church wearing a very pretty pastel shift that was both attractive and demure. Not all girls dress like sluts and it is up to the parents to raise their daughters to dress like young ladies instead of whores.
To: Demetrius Slaughter
The jean jacket looks trashy as does the spaghetti strapped dress. It is too revealing for church, IMHO.
The spaghetti strap dress is covered by a sweater, for crying out loud. It was windy in Texas yesterday, and cold. Barbara probably forgot to bring a sweater and the only jacket she had was a blue jean jacket from the ranch.
Y'all need to get a life. It was colder on Easter here in Texas than it has been for most of our Christmas Days.

Goodness gracious! Much ado about nothing.
Are some of y'all really this concerned about how two 22-year-olds are dressed? They'll grow up. Let's put things in perspective here.
Some of you sound like the dour old gossip mongers that are prevalent and every office, everywhere.
Lighten up! Don't sweat such small stuff.

Tie too.

I wore khaki pants, an oxford button down shirt, and a blue blazer to church yesterday... this shows that you are a boring dresser, not unlike myself. If you have a Sears JCPenneys or any quarterly clothing catalogs,(my wife always has them laying around) look at the young womens section. they are quite "IN" style. stick to politics.

Okay, I'll bite, what did you get?
And for my opinion about the Bush daughters' apparel (for those who are criticizing it, not you, Howlin): at least they were in dresses, and I saw MUCH, MUCH worse at the Easter Services I attended yesterday. Like it or not, what they are wearing is considered fashionable for young women their age. I'm sure importance of their actions outweighed the fashion of their outfits for those they visited.

Yowzer. As an expert in these matters.....I concur.

Mm.... I would not want to be a parent to that blonde! She looks as if she could be a real handful. Flashing eyes and a narrow forehead = plenty of fights with mom and dad.
From what I can tell, though, Bush is doing a pretty good job with them.
To: bmwcyle
I did not come to argue. I am not here to do that. You view means nothing to me. Oh, so you come to a debate forum to criticize fashion of the first daughters and parental skills of the first lady rather than discuss good deeds done and not expect any sort of debate? umm, Ok.

Lighten up.
I am not a troll, but I do not take all this so very seriously. I was just wondering, along with another freeper who you did not accuse of being a troll, about that scab on her knee.
It reminded me of a couple of scabs I got on my knees, way back when, from a rug burn.
