We've all done it. You've just gotten home, logged on to FR, and are scrolling down the "Latest Posts" page, deciding which thread will get your attention this evening, when THAT SCREENNAME jumps out at you in a "to" or "from" position. You are powerless to resist; if THAT GUY's there, it's gonna be a good thread...
All of us have our own "favorites" among the many colorful souls who congregate at this fine website. They could be someone you disagree totally with, agree completely with, or somewhere in between. They might be a fount of useful information, links, and facts. Our favorite might be devastating at the art of debate; demolishing opponents in truly unique style, or he might be just plain nuttier than squirrel dung, but fun nonetheless.
Perhaps your favorite FReeper has a way with words; an excellent writer. Maybe they are someone highly experienced in a particular field, with knowledge that many do not posess. Maybe they're dumber than a bag of hammers.
Point is, no matter what the reason, our "favorite FReepers"' handle attached to a thread makes it all the more interesting to us; it guarantees a wild ride or sublime pleasure in the reading and learning. It may also guarantee an increase in blood pressure and indigestion, but one thing's for sure...that thread HE's on is gonna get a hit or two, and it won't be boring.
I've got more than a few of my own, and I'm sure all of you do as well. WHO'S YOURS?????????????????

Mine are at the moment, "x," always erudite, always fair, who has a deep knowledge of American history and culture, Whiskeypapa, who has an encylopdedic knowledge of the Civil War, and is an excellent internecine debater, which debates have taught me much, Jwalsh07, a special friend, fair minded, and a superb debater and researcher about matters he cares about, Sinkspur for his skill at cut and thrust that I don't have, and don't have the inclination to acquire, but enjoy, Sabertooth for his ability to debate civilly, and superb research skills and hard work on issues that he cares about, even though we disagree a fair amount of the time, Dales for his hard work on political horse race issues, Deport for his unfailing civility and common sense, KQQL for his continual monitoring of all those noisome polls, Ambrose for being informed and fair, and for being tough minded on political and legal matters, and Luis Gonzalez when I want to watch some real action on a thread, even if it makes me wince. Some of the heavyweights on economic issues have departed, and I miss them. I am embarrassed I can't remember their names exactly, but one was miteconomist or some such.
Thanks to all of you.

Moe Howard

To: LadyX; Jim Robinson
I can't make a list for fear of forgetting a beloved Freeper. That being said, I want to pay tribute to my favorite.
LadyX is the sister I never had and my hero. She inspires me with her wit, her courage (Semper Fi ya'll), and her indomitable spirit. Her faith in God's care and plan sustains my own faith when I falter.
Thank you Jim Rob, for this village that brings together the best people in America.

To: Common Tator
Yikes, I left off the Tator, that sui generis genius, who is provocatively outrageous at times, but is always a good read (the guy knows how to write a story which has a beginning, middle and and an ending punch line which is skillfully built up to), and has a hands on knowledge and memory of politics that seemingly goes back to near the creation. I suspect he attended George Washington's inaugural. To miss his posts, is to miss a lot of fun, and often a lot of wisdom.

BettyBoop and AlamoGirl, two of the most intelligent, thoughtful, and spiritually oriented people I have ever
had the privilege of conversing with.
Kim4VWRC, course we go back to the Reagan board, how long ago? Six years or so.
Jeff Head is probably on everyone's list. Mine too.
OWK.
There are many others, of course, but personally, I steer clear of the political world pretty much these days, so don't get involved in those threads.
