We've all done it. You've just gotten home, logged on to FR, and are scrolling down the "Latest Posts" page, deciding which thread will get your attention this evening, when THAT SCREENNAME jumps out at you in a "to" or "from" position. You are powerless to resist; if THAT GUY's there, it's gonna be a good thread...

All of us have our own "favorites" among the many colorful souls who congregate at this fine website. They could be someone you disagree totally with, agree completely with, or somewhere in between. They might be a fount of useful information, links, and facts. Our favorite might be devastating at the art of debate; demolishing opponents in truly unique style, or he might be just plain nuttier than squirrel dung, but fun nonetheless.

Perhaps your favorite FReeper has a way with words; an excellent writer. Maybe they are someone highly experienced in a particular field, with knowledge that many do not posess. Maybe they're dumber than a bag of hammers.

Point is, no matter what the reason, our "favorite FReepers"' handle attached to a thread makes it all the more interesting to us; it guarantees a wild ride or sublime pleasure in the reading and learning. It may also guarantee an increase in blood pressure and indigestion, but one thing's for sure...that thread HE's on is gonna get a hit or two, and it won't be boring.

I've got more than a few of my own, and I'm sure all of you do as well. WHO'S YOURS?????????????????

We do go back a long way, don't we Skipper.

Humidston and I go back to at least 1997. We met on a forum like this, and of ALL my friends, she's probably the one that's closest to me in political philosophy. I know we've disagreed on an issue or two, but I just can't remember what they were. She's my favorite Freeper because she's become one of my bestest friends.

You know we could never live in the same city, because I don't know if it could survive it, but thanks for the countless hours on the phone helping me solve the world's problems, and then just making me laugh. Ya know I love ya!!!

Yes, He is risen! And if all the people out there that were looking for love could only realize what He did for us, they would know that Love had never looked like that before.

Jim Robinson and JustAmy and everybody else at FR HQ because command is a tough tour of duty, yet they prevail! Plus anybody who ever wanted on my list because in the midst of these culture wars, the fighting in The Arena of the War of Ideas, it makes this American feel halfway productive.

There are other FReepers; the hardcore regulars that know they are the core constituency at Free Republic—many listed more than once on this thread.

But today, where we are in American history, my buddy Happy2BMe, because if Providence had willed it, we'd both be in the same foxhole in Falluja knee deep in spent brass fighting the same war on tyranny and oppression our Patriot armed forces is fighting on all our behalf, even today! God bless and watch over them and may they continue to serve with valor and cunning! And President Bush for finally turning them loose!
