A couple of weeks ago I posted this thread about a photograph that I wound in a book about Kerry's group, the Vietnam Veterans Against The War:
Kerry's Group Met With The Viet Cong In Paris In 1971
The Vietnam Veterans Against The War (VVAW) sent their own delegation to Paris to meet with the representatives of the National Liberation Front (AKA Viet Cong) in 1971. At this time John Kerry was their spokesman and defacto leader.
This photograph is from the book "The Winter Soldiers", by Richard Stacewicz, page 284:
Since Stacewicz did not mention whether Kerry had attended this meeting and I did not see it mentioned anywhere else, I assumed he did not attend go on this trip.
I was wrong. Kerry did go to Paris. He did talk with the Viet Cong and North Vietnamese. In fact, he was quite proud about it. For it was the first thing that he brought up once he was done with his speech before the Senate Foreign Relations Committee on April 22, 1971:
THURSDAY, APRIL 22, 1971
UNITED STATES SENATE;
COMMITTEE ON FOREIGN RELATIONS,
Washington, D.C.
The committee met, pursuant to notice, at 11:05 a.m., in Room 4221, New Senate Office Building, Senator J. W. Fulbright (Chairman) presiding.
Present: Senators Fulbright, Symington, Pell, Aiken, Case, and Javits.
Thank you. [Applause]
The CHAIRMAN. Mr. Kerry, it is quite evident from that demonstration that you are speaking not only for yourself but for all your associates, as you properly said in the beginning.
You said you wished to communicate. I can't imagine anyone communicating more eloquently than you did. I think it is extremely helpful and beneficial to the committee and the country to have you make such a statement.
You said you had been awake all night. I can see that you spent that time very well indeed. [Laughter.]
Perhaps that was the better part, better that you should be awake than otherwise.
You have said that the question before this committee and the Congress is really how to end the war. The resolutions about which we have been hearing testimony during the past several days, the sponsors of which are some members of this committee, are seeking the most practical way that we can find and, I believe, to do it at the earliest opportunity that we can. That is the purpose of these hearings and that is why you were brought here.
You have been very eloquent about the reasons why we should proceed as quickly as possible. Are you familiar With some of the proposals before this committee?
Mr. KERRY. Yes, I am, Senator.
The CHAIRMAN. Do you support or do you have any particular views about any one of them you wish to give the committee?
Mr. KERRY. My feeling, Senator, is undoubtedly this Congress, and I don't mean to sound pessimistic, but I do not believe that this Congress will, in fact, end the war as we would like to, which is immediately and unilaterally and, therefore, if I were to speak I would say we would set a date and the date obviously would be the earliest possible date. But I would like to say, in answering that, that I do not believe it is necessary to stall any longer. I have been to Paris. I have talked with both delegations at the peace talks, that is to say the Democratic Republic of Vietnam and the Provisional Revolutionary Government and of all eight of Madam Binh's points it has been stated time and time again, and was stated by Senator Vance Hartke when he returned from Paris, and it has been stated by many other officials of this Government, if the United States were to set a date for withdrawal the prisoners of war would be returned.
I think this negates very clearly the argument of the President that we have to maintain a presence in Vietnam, to use as a negotiating block for the return of those prisoners. The setting of a date will accomplish that.

bump to self for looking into the Logan act as well.
bump again....Logan act, ILL, research from thread on Dem quotes
I have obtained a copy of New soldier via ILL and will see what I can find (yeah..old thread...)
His comment about "boderline of private individuals negotiating" is a referance to US Code title 18 part 1 chapter 45 section 953, which would be the law he broke were he not in the Navy reserve. He was however, in the reserve and therefore subject to the Uniform Code of Military Justice. The law he broke therefore is UCMJ section 904, article 104, Aiding the enemy. Any person who- without proper authority, knowingly communicates or corresponds with, or holds any intercourse with the enemy, either directly or indirectly, shall suffer death or such other punishment as a court martial shall direct. Note that the name of this article is called AIDING THE ENEMY. The dictionary describes traitor as one who commits treason, treason is defined as betrayal of one's country by acting to provide aid to it's enemies. Feel free to let me know if you can see any way around the fact that John Kerry is the text book description of a traitor.
Kerry recieved his first purple heart for a wound recieved on Dec 2nd 1968. His diary however said on Dec 11th 1968, " We are feeling pretty cocky, because we have not been shot at yet." His first wound was from an M-79 grenade launcher KERRY shot at rocks to close to the boat, and NOT from enemy fire. Self inflicted wounds do NOT qualify for a purple heart. If that is not enough, He tossed his medals over a fence, and therefore HAS NO MEDALS.
There is no statute of limitations for treason. The logan act is the law Kerry broke, but not the only law. As a member of the Navy reserve Kerry was also subject to the Uniform Code of Military Justice. He violated Section 904 Article 104 of the UCMJ. This clearly describes such a meeting as grounds for execution and also has no statute of limitations.
Because Kerry was still in the Navy Reserve ( he was attached to the Naval Reserve Manpower Center in Bainbridge Maryland )he was suject to the Uniform Code of Military Justice. Under the UCMJ he should have been prosecuted under Section 904 Article 104: Aiding the enemy; Any person who- (1)aids or attempts to aid the enemy... (2) without proper authority, knowingly... communicates or corresponds with or holds any intercourese with the enemy, either directly or indirectly; shall suffer death or such other punishment as a court-martial may direct. / This describes Kerry's meetings in Paris as AIDING THE ENEMY. notice the title. (more than one visit, see page 188 of the congressional record 22 April 1971, " I realize that even my visits in Paris". Notice this is VISITS not visit. Kerry and his campaign have denied the second visit due to the treaty they brought back constituting NEGOTIATIONS from the second visit) / The American Heritage Dictionary defines Traitor; One who betrays one's country, a cause, or a trust, especially one who commits treason. Treason; Violation of allegiance toward one's country or sovereign, especially the betrayal of one's country by waging war against it or by conciously and purposely acting to AID IT'S ENEMIES. / There you go. Kerry is the text book definition of traitor. If anyone sees a way around it feel free to point out whwere I am wrong.
I saw once, somewhere on the web, Kerry's service dates. I know that he was attached to the Naval Reserve Manpower Center in Bainbridge, Maryland at the time he went to Paris to meet the enemy. The weird thing I noticed was that despite having met his time requirements years earlier, he did not recieve his honorable discharge till like 1983. Personally I believe that one of the things hidden in the records Kerry does not want shown is a less than honorable discharge at an earlier date. The UCMJ section 904, article 104 describes meeting's like Kerry's with the enemy as AIDING THE ENEMY. It has the death penalty. The definition of Traitor is one who commits treason. Treason is defined as providing aid to the enemy. There you go. Undeniable proof Kerry is a traitor.
Right after I posted the last reply I decided to do a little looking. I found this.

I think you will find it extremely helpful in answering your questions. I think it may raise a few new questions as well.
Thanks for the ping!
We need to keep this issue front and center. Have you seen tonight's headlines from Drudge on how the Dems are attempting voter fraud?
I'm getting sick just thinking Hanoi John could win. If I were in the military and Kerry won, I would have to leave as soon as my enlistment was up. 69% of the military support President Bush. The number is about 24% for Kerry. I don't have the exact figures handy. They just may have to bring back the draft under a President Hanoi Kerry.
At least Tokyo Rose was part Japanese and got stuck in Japan during the war. I have no idea why Hanoi John decided to betray his country. He wants a pass on his treasonous behavior and the media has on the most part given him that pass. Thank God for the Swiftees.
I am definitely old enough to remember Vietnam, and it was not widely reported what Kerry was doing in my region of the country. To tell you the truth I never heard about his treasonous testimony until he ran for President.

IMHO, kerry ( and the treasonous libs) just trying to revive HIS "worn out, tired old playbook"...
Thanks so much for FR Jim. It is so great to be able to find all these things on this great site you and John have made!!
Bumping this thread BTTT !!
