This issue eclipses the illegal amnesty blunder.

No doubt that's what Bush's aids are telling him. It clearly won't happen.

Howlin, I think what Rose means is that shows like Will & Grace normalize homosexual behavior. It's incrementalism. I think young people are especially prone to these type of influences. All you have to do is turn on MTV to see that in action.

You have your answer right there. Its a state issue, let the states decide. Why people on FR are crazy for giving the feds more power is beyond me.

Sorry, but the ramifications, social and financial, make marriage a federal issue. A state such as Utah could make polygamy legal. Should that be allowed? Should the federal govenment recognize same sex marriages, polygamy, etc. to determine eligibility for such programs as social security and federal pensions?

The full faith and credit clause of the Constitution would make state laws regarding marriage irrelevant if one state grants marriage licenses

Is my WA state fishing license legal in Texas?

On the surface i would agree with you. BUT, because of these words "full faith and credit shall be given in each state to the public acts and records and judicial proceedings of every other state.", I can't.

People will argue that this does not appl, DOMA stop it, yada yada yada. But you know, as well as I, That once ONE STATE says yea verily to Gay Marriage (and it WILL happen), and as soon as one couple is Legally married -- That couple willbe in federal Court arguing that Thier Marraige must be recognized by all states and THE FEDERAL GOVERNMENT! After all they are married, they should get all the FEDERAL benefits of a MARRIED COUPLE!

It will happen! You know it will happen! And they will fine some crackpot judge who will endorse it! And, I am sorry, there is no Garauntee that this SCOTUS will overturn that ruling!

So, yes, this is a federal issue, and to say it is not is to be sticking your head in the sand and hoping the big bad bogeyman goes away.

The Death of Right and Wrong: Exposing the Left's Assault on Our Culture and Values
by Tammy Bruce
________________________________________________________
Your post:

Tammy Bruce's book The Death of Right and Wrong is a useful book to read regarding gay marriage, the gay agenda in our public schools and the leftists who promote them.

Bruce is a lesbian and former president of the Los Angeles chapter of NOW. She has long since left NOW and condemns them AND the radical gay agenda thoroughly in her book.

It is one of the best books I've ever read and explains what is wrong with the left and the radical gays. Bruce has worked with Congress and Phyllis Schafley on these matters and is currently a commentator for FNC.

Bruce feels the radical leftists and gays have a mental disease called malignant narcissism and explains how it is rooted in trauma that never attempts recovery. These individuals, instead of seeking psychological help, are focusing on social change. In other words, they want the rest of society to mirror their own hurt and pain.

She makes a very convincing case for the fact that an entire wing of politics is invested in the victim-hood of its constituency, the leaders of which are trying to work out their demons on society.

The book is shocking and details how the radical left and gays have espoused sexualizing our children and how supposedly mainstream supporters of those efforts have stated publicly that "Sex is not harmful to children...there are many ways even the smallest of children can partake in it" (page 193). As outrageous as this sounds, it is not some fringe group of marginalized pedophiles that want this evil perpetrated to rationalize their depravity, but rather the leaders of the "special interest" groups on the Left, sponsored by their friends in the media. Well-documented facts throughout the book reveal this agenda clearly.

This is a MUST read book in order to take on the left using their own words against them.

When mainstream America realizes what is going on, we will be more aware and able to stop this dangerous agenda from moving forward.

Sorry for the long post, but I cannot stress more strongly how important this issue is and how this book will help us fight this fight.

And what are those legal problems?

My previous posts on this thread cover the gist of them. See above or do an author search to check them out. There are quite a few of them; I count about 22 so far to this thread.

NOW is the time that marriage must be legally, and constitutionally protected. NOT last May

So many people are so ignorant of what it takes to win political battles. There is nothing dumber than getting out in front of an issue and getting defeated. It has destroyed many political careers.

Fools fail to understand that this is a nation with a government of the people, by the people and for the people. Any political public servant (this nation will not tolerate leaders) who gets ahead of the public will be destroyed.

In the United States a president to be successful first must determine what the public wants most, and then give it to them.

Tons of FR people long for a dictator.. You know what a dictator is, don't you? A dictator is someone who could care less what the voters want, and only does what he thinks is right. I used to not understand how Germany om 1933, then the most educated nation on earth, could vote in a Hitler. But many posters on FR show me why. They long for a principled leader that will not wait for the public and instead will act on their desires. That is how Germany got Hitler. And with the state of the economy in Germany today, I would not be surprised to see them do it again.

Thank goodness this nation has never had a principled leader who does what he wants. Every President so far has done what a majority of the voters wants or he has been defeated or removed.

So here is how it works. First the voters express what they want... then the president and congress do what the voters want.

There are two majorities that can rule. One extends from the left to just right of the political center. That is one Bill Clinton played to. The other extends from the right to just left of center.. That is the one President Bush plays to.

Until the President can measure a majority for any cause, he dare not act. You see presidents are truly public servants. Whenever one gets to thinking he is in control we get rid of him... Ask Jimmy Carter how that works.

Thank you for posting that link.

I read the book last year and aside from terrorism issues, consider it the most important, urgent matter facing the country today.

The radical left and gays are stealing our culture and our children.

Buy the book. Read it. Talk about it. Write letters to the editor about it. Lend it to neighbors and friends.

I am NOT a homophobe and have had TWO family members who are gay who I love dearly. One is dead. One is alive. They were not radical gays and lived quietly.

However, the more I read about this subject, the more disturbed I am about it.

In Boston today they are holding a Fisting seminar at a college. It is sponsored by the Massachusetts DOE!

There is a cultural divide in this country and it will split us in two. The radicals get more press than we do because they own the media. We simply need to make more noise!

I sat and watched one program of Will and Grace. The story line centered around 3 gay male "couples" and a single Will. He finally hooked up with some hunk.

My stomach turned. The thought that this was and is considered G rated entertainment PISSES ME OFF.

That's my problem.

People can talk about impeachment of judges all they want, but in Massachusetts and in California we are dealing with STATE judges, which means they would have to impeached by their very, very democrat controlled legislatures. That is NOT going to happen.

Our recourse without an amendment would therefore be waiting until conflict between a gay marriage law in California and it's lack of recognition in a state like Indiana came up. Then we would have to fight all the way to the Supreme Court, which, given their decision last summer, would not be an automatic victory for us.

A Constitutional amendment is in my opinin the only way we can get this movement stopped.

****** Another reason to celebrate the election of our much to be admired Republican governor, Mitt Romney. While I would hate to lose him as governor, I would love to see him as President.

Why would you think that I don't watch all these scumbag networks at times? It pains me to have to draw these conclusions about Fox but watching it gives me no choice.

Just look at the line up at night. Shep Smith- not very smart; O'Reilly- at best a loose cannon; Greta - unless you want all Kobe-Peterson-Michael all the time forget it; Hannity and Coombs are ok but Hannity still allows too much to get past him. Even Bret's show has periods where it doesn't address the real issues i.e. RAT lying.

I do not think the President had to be dragged kicking and screaming to this at all. In fact, I wouldn't be surprised if he has been ready to go, looking for a good opportunity.

Every president has a hundred issues upon which he would like to act. But he is limited to those issues upon which he can get enough support to prevail.

For example, consider the abortion issue. President Bush is very opposed to abortion and public opinion is even trending his way. But the chances of getting a constitutional amendment outlawing abortion is next to nil. Working hard to try an amendment passed banning abortion is stupid when there is no chance of getting it done.

Headlines saying of "Bush Fails to end abortion" are not helpful.

What presidents can do is act when the iron is hot. Right now the burning issue is homosexual marriage. Bush can and has acted upon it. The people who are criticizing Bush are the far right fringers. The far right fringers are just like the far left fringers. To the far left Earth in the Balance Gore was not Green enough to get their vote. Bet the farm that Kerry is not green or left enough to get their vote either.

To the far right Bush will never be "Right" enough to please them.

If you remember back in 2000, the number of far right posters on this site could lead you to believe that Buchanan and the Libertarians would get 10 million votes each. We know the two right wing fringe parties only got t a half of one percent of the vote each in 2000. They won't do any better in 2004.

The Bush Bashers on the this site are of two categories. The Democrat Disrupters who are trying to ferment trouble in the Bush Camp, and the far right fringers.

Both the far right fringers and the far left fringers are not a factor. No Democrat... not even a Democrat who touts global warming on the coldest day in decades, can please the Greenies as Al Gore proved. No Republican no matter how pro marriage and pro life can win the support of the far right fringe.

The one thing that we know is when the Fringers get a president to do what they want, they claim he is not doing it soon enough or strongly enough. Today's posters are absolute proof of my thesis that the far right is not worthy of our attention.

If someone gave these far right wingers a million dollars, they would be angry as heck because it came in the wrong colored box.
