Petition to Arrest Mayor Newsom
Petition to Gov. Schwarzenegger to Arrest Mayor Newsom of San Francisco ^ | 2/19/2004 | Nick Bradley

Posted on 02/19/2004 8:48:39 PM PST by Remember_Salamis

To: Califonia Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger

Mayor Gavin Newsom of San Francisco has violated California law by Marrying Same-sex couples in San Francisco. It is patently unlawful to issue marriage certificates to same-sex couples. Section 308.5 of the California Family Code plainly defines a valid marriage as being limited to one man and one woman. Furthermore, California Penal Code section 115 prohibits the knowing procurement of any false or forged instrument to be filed or recorded in any public office, making such an act a felony punishable by up to three (3) years in prison.

The Mayor of San Francisco is giving the middle finger to the State of California and the United States as a Whole. To make it worse, Mayor Newsom and the City of San Francisco has stated that it is suing the state of California, challenging its ban on same-sex marriages on constitutional grounds. By doing so, Mayor Newsom is proposing that every law that was not a constitutional amendment is un-enforceable. If he is not arrested, there is no basis for drug laws, the carrying of concealed weapons, prostitution, and every other law that is not written into the constitution of the state of California.

Please arrest this man.

Answer me this: fundamentally, why are you and a certain segment of society, as reflected on this site, so threatened by gays?

I don’t feel threatened by them. But I do believe their agenda, if implemented, threatens the very future of civilization.

You continually frame it in tremedously idealistic language, but on a FUNDAMENTAL LEVEL, why does homosexuality bother you so much?

Because it is a serious perversion unequivocally condemned by God in the Bible. The ancient cities of Sodom and Gomorra were wiped off the face of the map because of it. (San Franciscans would do well to remember that they are sitting atop the San Andreas Fault.) Just because psychologists have stopped calling is a perversion, does not change the fact that it remains a perversion.

I personally could not care less if a guy wants to have sex with another guy...not my thing, but as long as they aren't hurting anyone else, shouldnt people be free to live the way they want to? And are they invalidated as people and as human beings because of SEX???

No man is an island. What he does ultimately affects others. If they where on an island and not coming back to America, then it does not concern me. But, if they are going to engage in an unnatural perversion that leads to destroyed lives, and try to pass it off as a viable alternative lifestyle that children should consider, and spread a disease among themselves that ultimately spreads into the general population, and demand billions of dollars of taxpayer money and insurance premium money to go toward the treatment of men who have AIDS because they had deviant sex with a hundred men who do the same thing, an and then demand that medical research funding be stolen away from research in diabetes, cancer and heart disease so that they can be cured of the most easily preventable illness on Earth just because they can’t seem to get it though their heads not to stick things where they don’t belong… then it does concern me.

And are they invalidated as people and as human beings because of SEX???

No. They are merely very sick people. They need help. Spreading their sickness will not help them, but it will hurt others.

Why does it bother you so much?

I believe that I have answered that. Now you answer one question for me. What do you think of people who what to have sex with animals?

Adam's words more than answeres it. But if you need it explained word for word to you from my perspective, I am more than willing to accomodate.

We are not talking about what two people do in the privacy of their bedroom now are we? We are talking about counterfeit licenses being issued illegaly to accomadate a perversion of the institution of marriage.

People are indeed free to make their moral choices in the privacy of their bedroom. God has been clear on His stance regarding this particular choice in the scriptures and you and others may or may not agree with that. That is fine...it is an individual choice...but don't think there are not consequences. Any level-headed and honest look at health statistics regarding STD's and the various segments of society where they are most prevelant will make that clear. And the care of those individuals steps right out of the bedroom and into your and my pocket book.

Yes, people can answer to God if they leave it there in the bedroom, but this issue...along with being a sin in private IMHO, will not stay there in the bedroom by any stretch.

As I said before...that dog can't hunt.

Your attempts to change the nature of the discussion and place it in the bedroom are lame IMHO, and even that attempt fails on its face when you consider the health issue as I have explained. But even if that were granted...it has no bearing on this conversation because the fact is that those people on the steps of the courthouse in San Francisco are not in their bedrooms, they are demanding equal legal status under the law, wanting to pretend they are legally married when their very union is a wresting of the definition of the term and illegal under the law as well. The consequences of letting THAT stand effects us all. Health wise, tax wise, morally, etc., etc.

All of that is more than implied by Adam's words. That folks like you either fail to see it...or don't want to see it...is the very definition of the danger Adams referred to.

From my perspective, there is no need to disagree and strain the point any more between us. The colors are evident in the conversation and the different sides have been represented. I am more than willing to let other readers and lurkers here read the two sides and decide for themselves.

Oh, Jeff. You'll miss him always, but remember all those good things he taught you. He must have been so proud of you. My dad died in 1963, I was 15. I sure wish I'd paid more attention.

The marriage "certificates" aren't valid. It's just a publicity stunt.

I've heard the same comments which then begs the following question. If the certificates aren't valid and the Mayor and his staff knowing this are issuing them upon receiving payment, then aren't they and the city engaging in a crime of obtaining funds under false pretenses?

ok...all i'm going to say on the point is that the BASIS for your argument against issuing marriage licenses is what the gays do in the bedroom...so yes, that IS what we're talking about.

as to what god thinks about this-
i suspect that anytime people are kind to each other...who treat others the way they themselves would be treated...are going to be fine in his eyes.

i think some people need to take a hard look at why it is that homosexuality bothers them so deeply.

"What makes our nation so special is not the lawyers, or the judges, or the myriad officials. It is the people themselves."

Thank you! Now I won't have to repeat that. What we are experiencing in our present culture is law by the attorney and for the attorney! The only real beneficeries of too many laws are attorneys! Jefferson, Franklin and others warned us about letting them "unbalance" the three branches. They have NO business in the legislative or executive branch.

NEVER VOTE FOR AN ATTORNEY!!!! Some say this is "disdain" for lawyers...no, if there is any "hate" in my heart it is for lawyers. And remember judges are just glorified lawyers.

You think the duped are going to complain? I think not. That's if they even have to pay for the certificate. I've not heard whether the city is making them pay the fee or not.

Excellent point. These nincompoops see no consequences to their anarchistic/ignore the law actions.

Why, heck, they don't even care as far as I can tell ...

... I see no reason to pay any attention to any laws as they are all obviously "unfair" to someone somewhere.

I think I will start with income taxes; federal, state, and city.

Then sales taxes, payroll deductions, filing any government forms, building permits, etc.

Hey; this may be a great anarchist "fairness" concept!

Let the left pay all the taxes and fees and insurance.........

I feel bad for people like you, who talk without having any idea what they are saying...

the basis of the legislative branch is LEGISLATURE...legislature is the body which enacts LAW...lets see a society try and enact and maintain a body of law without those who UNDERSTAND THE LAW (LAWYERS).

your jealousy? of lawyers betrays your fundamental level of ignorance in general.

Between the activist judges and attorneys, and the abject metamorphas of our colleges (for the most part) into socialist/marxist indoctrination centers, reaching right down into High School and Jr. High now, there should be little wonder to us that our nation is embarking on these paths.

We have allowed it to happen...and now we need to work to put it back in the box...and raise children who will help do the same because it is going to take that long or longer. And it will not be an easy rode. Abject evil and wickedness of this order rarely go away quietly.

But...we have tens of millions of good moral people (and growing) who know the truth and are willing to stand up and get involved...and we have the very Governor of the universe who will support us...we also know how the story ends.

Given all of that, we can confidently move forward. The experiences at Klamath proved all of these points on a bit smaller scale...but a nonetheless important one to all of those who were involved.

Some folks think they have to creat a system for the rest of us that only they understand...therefore ensuring thier position of power and influence. It is a sad state of affairs.

Our founders had to deal with a whole class of people like that.

It is sad that what they produced, a system where governing the people was left in the hands of the people themselves as much as possible, relying on their own free will based on foundational moral principle that the vast majority adhered to, I say, it is sad that it has devolved into the myriad of incomprehensible laws we have today.

It was never meant to be that way. Perhaps with a lot of work and the help of Providence, we can get it headed back the other way.

Keep up the good fight over their Auntie! Jared says hi.

Let’s face it, folks, this is NOT about marriage. This is about the burdensome, wholly unfair tax code. This is about getting “benefits” like health insurance for someone living with you. Get a logical tax code in place....you earn a dollar and pay a flat rate on it. Everyone, even married people, should pay the same rate. I’m sick and tired of subsidizing couples with half a dozen kids. I sure as hell am not gonna stand for subsidizing queers. YES, I said QUEER. Now before your jaw drops, two gay guys were in my home a while back for dinner. They know they’re queer and they disagree with this whinning, “GIMME, GIMME!” attitude as well. I rented a house to lesbians BECAUSE they were the best qualified renters. Equal protection for everyone....and that starts with the tax code. There are too many heterosexuals getting married now because of the tax benefits instead of the reason they should have for marriage.

abraxas_sandiego, does trying to demean me make you feel better?? Well, good. And when you get caught in some lawyers web of insanity, you'll change your tune. Unless, of course, you're part of the problem.
