Kerry's Anti-War Record Discussed at White House Briefing

This was the exchange at today's White House press briefing, much of which focused on George W. Bush's service records with the National Guard.
JEFF GANNON (Talon News): Since there have been so many questions about what the President was doing over 30 years ago, what is it that he did after his honorable discharge from the National Guard?
Did he make speeches alongside Jane Fonda, denouncing America's racist war in Vietnam?
Did he testify before Congress that American troops committed war crimes in Vietnam?
And did he throw somebody else's medals at the White House to protest a war America was still fighting?
What was he doing after he was honorably discharged?
MR. McCLELLAN: We've already commented on some of his views relating back to that period the other day. And, obviously, this was a time period also when he was going to get his MBA at Harvard. But the President was certainly proud to serve in the National Guard.
TERRY MORAN (ABC NEWS): And would the White House consider those actions by Senator Kerry, that Jeff mentions fair game in the political season?
MR. McCLELLAN: Terry, I think -- I know that that's a way to try to draw us into a Democratic primary that is ongoing.

I found this picture from CPAC of the guy who hosts "Jeff Gannon's Washington" on RightTalk. I hear that in his spare time, he's some hotshot White House reporter.

I said in a post earlier this week "that in large measure it is a disadvantage to be too reluctanct to "sink to their level". It's an unfortunate fact of life that the dirty fighter has an advantage and it's downright foolish to lose the battle by trying to rise above it. Leo Durocher's quote was "Nice guys finish last" I don't think that's necessarily true but nice guys rarely finish first just because they're nice.

Jeff. Good show. Kerry's war record and his activities as co-founder of VVAW need greater scrutiny. As a Vietnam veteran and former naval officer, I question how Kerry won three PH, a Silver star and a Bronze star in less than 4 months in-country. All of his wounds were minor and he
initiated a request to be reassigned to the US four days after the third wound. We need to see the citations for those awards, who wrote them and how they were vetted.
Beyond these questions about his war record, I found his anti-war activities to be beyond the pale. There is ample documentation about his activities, which is readily available.
What I find most curious is the fact that Kerry lists in his bio that he served in the Naval Reserves from 1972-78. The questions I would pose about this service are: (1)Did he initiate the request to join the reserves in 1972?; (2) Was he in the active or inactive reserves?; (3) If in the active reserves, would he make his records public? and (4)Why did he join the reserves after castigating the political and military leadership for what amounts to a policy fostering war crimes in 1970-1 and while fighting was still going on in Vietnam?. This seems to be fertile ground for further investigation. I can only surmise that Kerry joined the Naval Reserves after a two year hiatus to build a more acceptable resume to further his political ambitions.

The other side cheats, lies and steals and our side won't even fight back. How interesting that the Democ Rats fight harder and tougher when it comes to political wars, but in reality the DemocRats are the WIMPS when it comes to Actual WAR or protecting our country from enemies.
Notice that Carter, Clinton, Kerry are all real WIMPS, whose wives have the balls.

Thanks, OldFriend. In my opinion, this is a definitive moment in history. If this nation decides to toss out GWB, it won't just be tossing out the man, but the entire conservative yes, conservative, because the essence of conservatism is protection of the nation approach to foreign policy that GWB has taken.
Choose, people!
Do we want to be forever subservient to the UN?
Or do we want to continue our sovereign right to self-determination and self-protection?
Are we ashamed of America such that we need a president to apologize for us at every turn?
Or was that spontaneous bout of flag-waving and American pride after 9/11 real?
Do we want a leftist (i.e., Marxist) president who will make us subservient to the International Criminal Court, the Kyoto treaty, and every other pseudo-world government body?
Or do we want to maintain GWB's reversal of those Clinton policies?
Do we still cherish our unique Constitutional system and American heritage?
Or are we ready to toss it overboard?
Do we want to abandon the War on Terrorism, military tribunals for America's enemies, and taking the fight to the enemy?
Or do we want to continue the course set by President George W. Bush
There is NO MIDDLE GROUND in this election. The choice is stark and the decision very grave, indeed. This November, we shall finally see what kind of country the United States is in this Year of Our Lord Two Thousand and Four (to use the ancient formulation).

Watch the video on C-SPAN No need to watch the video as I witnessed it this afternoon and was shouting with joy. I was looking for my remote to change channels (having listened to 15 minutes of repetitive grilling unlike any I've heard asked when X42 was in office) when suddenly I heard the voice of reason and was beside myself. It was FANTASTIC but undoubtedly went over the heads of Moran and the arrogant liberal weasel who works for NBC whose name I refuse to utter.
