Good Morning Carlo! I have tried this many times, even for company and it is great, and I do cut the leftovers in single portions and freeze it. Yum!!

No I don't care what other people eat. The person was pointing out why he/she thought low carb dieting was bad. I was just saying low carb doesn't mean high fat. There are a lot of people who lazy who think 'low carb' means a high fat free for all and they don't have to exercise.

Yep. I get really tired of hearing people say that atkins is steak, cheese, eggs and bacon. Oh. Well, then what about all the salad, fresh veggies, berries and such? How about the fish and poultry?
I don't like all the "low carb" labels I'm seeing on stuff now. I just buy fresh foods, and leave it at that. The hype is ridiculous. I even had a can of Hanson's diet soda yesterday that was labelled "No carbs". Well, no duh.

Tonto's first try at posting a recipe:
Pickled Okra
Go to store and buy a jar of pickled okra. Take home and put in refrigerator till it gets good and cold. Open jar take out two pods and eat-em-up.
These are crunchy and a little sour and they come in "hot" or "mild." 1 serving = 2 pods. 1 carb.
Seriously, if you haven't tried pickled okra, you're missing out on a delicacy. It's not slimy.

, however these same folks no longer have the energy for any sort of prolonged workout....I work out at the gym 3 times a week for an hour. I am the only one on Low-Carb of the two friends I work out with and I can run circles around them. Oh, forget to mention, I'm in my early 60's!!!!!!

In the morning I have a spoon or two of natural peanut butter because I am not much on breakfast and will snack on string cheese( a couple) till lunch. At lunch I will have a c-salad and some chicken breats etc and then snack on cheese again till dinner. in which I will have a steak and sald or chicken and salad with some green veggies...ie green beans, spinach. then for a late night snack cheese or natural peanut butter.
check out this web site.

Great place with lots of people who will help.
I will toss in some oatmeal from time to time with splenda.

My husband is Italian, and is tring to diet with me on the 'South Beach', but really misses his pasta, bread, etc. I experimented in making meatballs without any bread/bread crumbs in it. The first experiment, just substituing parmesean cheese ended up in disaster, but my second attempt, mashing up steamed cauliflower and puting it with the lean beef worked really well. I made cabbage rolls with the meatball mixture and he said it was pretty close. (I didn't tell him exactly what I put in there, didn't want him to pre-judge how it was going to taste.) Anyway, long story short, you can eat many of your family's traditional dishes, you just need to be creative in substituting the bad carbs with healthier options.

Even the fast food chains are jumping on the bandwagon. Carls Jr. is offering a low carb burger, In-n-out has their protein style burgers. Subway is offering an Atkins wrap. They see a market niche and are going after it.

Most grocery stores have sugar-free Reese's Peanut Butter Cups....I have looked for sugar-free candy, but have not found any. I would love to have a sugar-free Reese's Peanut Butter Cup. Guess I'll keep looking!

It has only now become apparent that the agenda driven mantra of the food pyramid, was more akin to a grave marker than a monument to healthcare. And more is being learned everyday about the heavy handed influence of the enviro-vegan-terroist-socialist and their one-world vision and international lawmaking prowess. More people have died at the hands of these food-nannies in the name of love, than all of the bullets since the invention of gunpowder.ROTFLMAO!!!
A little over the top, but NOT BY MUCH!!!
Remember the first Anti-Atkins "Diet for a Small Planet"???

Our WalMart has them, so if your's doesn't ask the Manager to stock them for you!
To: carlo3b
carlo, do you know if all these ingrediants are easy to find in a supermarket or do you have to go to a health food store to get them? Also do you know what the cost per loaf comes out as?
Our local Food Pavilion Store is making a 3g net digestable loaf for $2.99. So far I find their bread better than others I have tried.

These so-called experts should be skinned for their pack mentality, systematic lies, distortions, and locked up for intellectual malpractice for their treatment of such visionaries as Dr Robert Atkins, who in the early 1970's warned the world of the perils of pizza, pastries, peta bread, and pasta.
PETA Bread? Uh... Really? (/butthead)

Great compilation of articles about how this is affecting the economy. I'm reading this while eating a salad of organic veggies from the local health food store, and home made dressing, topped with bee pollen, flax meal, and hemp seed oil. Yum!

Drink in moderation and when you do drink make sure it is of the low carb variety. I can't lose when I drink so I try not too...but I hear you can drink vodka and there are several low carb beers...just remember moderation and if it stalls you I would quit at least till you reach your goal....when I did drink I would munch...lol...not good....
