A Few of FR's Finest....Every Day
Free Republic made its debut in September, 1996, and the forum was added in early 1997. Over 100,000 people have registered for posting privileges on Free Republic, and the forum is read daily by tens of thousands of concerned citizens and patriots from all around the country and the world.
A Few of FR's Finest....Every Day was introduced on June 24, 2002. It's only a small room in JimRob's house where we can get to know one another a little better; salute and support our military and our leaders; pray for those in need; and congratulate those deserving. We strive to keep our threads entertaining, fun, and pleasing to look at, and often have guest writers contribute an essay or a profile of another FReeper.
On Mondays please visit us to see photos of A FEW OF FR'S VETERANS AND ACTIVE MILITARY
If you have a suggestion, or an idea, or if there's a FReeper you would like to see featured, please drop one of us a note in FR mail.
We're having fun and hope you are!

~ Billie, Mama_Bear, dansangel, dutchess, Aquamarine ~

To Our FReeper FRiends: We hope you've been having as much fun as we have with our essays and/or spotlight on various FReepers. We thought we'd kick back on the weekends and simply review the features of the week. If you missed seeing them and want to say hello there now, feel free to click on the link to that particular thread. If you'd like to drop in and out of this thread today and tomorrow, please feel free to do that also. One of us will always be around to see the welcome mat is still out, and maybe even put fresh flowers on the table. ~ Billie

If God is for us, who can be against us? —Romans 8:31

Our God is always there for us—
Receiving every prayer,
Delighting in our words of praise,
Responding with His care

The One who died to save you will never be against you.

Always For Us

Read: Ruth 1

If God is for us, who can be against us? —Romans 8:31

Bible In One Year: Genesis 10-12; Matthew 4

Naomi, her husband, and their two sons left Israel and moved to Moab because of a famine (Ruth 1:1-2). One son married Ruth, the other married Orpah. Eventually Naomi's husband and sons died (vv.3,5), so she decided to return to Israel. But she felt that her daughters-in-law would be better off staying in Moab (vv.6-13). She tried to dissuade them from going with her by saying, "No, my daughters; for it grieves me very much for your sakes that the hand of the Lord has gone out against me!" (v.13).

Was Naomi right in her thinking about God? Perhaps the family had displayed a lack of faith by moving to pagan Moab, but God certainly was not against her. He proved this by wonderfully providing for her and Ruth after they returned to Israel. (Read the rest of the book—it's short.)

You may be unemployed, terminally ill, have a disabled child, or care for a loved one with Alzheimer's. God hasn't promised to keep us from such problems. But He has proven that He is always "for us" as Christians by what He did through Jesus (Romans 5:8-9). Nothing, not even death, can separate us from His love (8:35-39).

The Lord is never "against us," not even when He chastens us (Hebrews 12:5-6). He is always for us! —Herb Vander Lugt

Our God is always there for us—
Receiving every prayer,
Delighting in our words of praise,
Responding with His care. —Sper

The One who died to save you will never be against you.

~ ~ ~ A Blssed Sunday to One and All ~ ~ ~

May you find peace and strength through knowing
your Heavenly Father loves you and has a plan for your life!
The devourer seeks to separate you from Him through
deceit and lies and discouragment,
often all the more strongly in direct proportion to your closeness to God.

Hold fast to your beliefs, and reap the rewards of a close relationship
with the God who loves you, and who freely gives His grace...

Rejoice, and rest in Him!

Rut-roh, Pippin.

Anderson gives Titans leg up over Ravens, 20-17 ...

NFL career scoring leader Gary Anderson kicked a 46-yard field goal with 29 seconds left after a limping Steve McNair validated his stature as the NFL co-MVP by throwing for 159 yards and a touchdown, leading the Titans to a 20-17 victory Saturday in a first-round playoff game.

Guess we can fly south for the rest of the winter.
Yeah, I guess so. I hear Dallas is nice this time of year ! ...

Thank you ((((Lady)))))

Took advantage of some beautiful Atlantic sunrises when we stayed on St. Simons Island this past October. I prayed each time the sun came up, thanking God for the beautiful gift that He gave us each morning.

Good morning from Puget Sound -
cold as an Eskimo bar here!

Cozy? Warm? LOL So cold here that I'm on my way back out to carry water from the house to the horse. AND remove the snowballs from his feet that are making him a few inches taller overnight! ;) After that relaxation I'm going to make myself a cup of coffee. (But I have to admit the Lord has made a beautiful day - even if it IS crunchy! ;) A joyous Sunday to FR's Finest!

Good Sunday afternoon to all!
We're having a warmer than usual winter day here, in the 60's. Heard there's a cold front moving in soon so plan to enjoy this day while it lasts.

Have finally recovered from the Holiday's which really took it's toll on me this time around.
Looking forward to seeing what everyone brings to the Finest this year!

Wow ! Snow in the Puget Sound. We used to live on the other side of the Cascades, near Spokane, Wash. We usually got more snow than my aunt and and uncle in Seattle did.

Keep warm ! And watch out for those slick streets. Lots of hills around the Seattle area.

I think our cool front is moving through now. It was 70 degrees early this morning and now it's ...

48 degrees. Going down to around 28 tonight and then 26 tomorrow night ...

My dad's brother just had a heart attack so I had to drive him to SeaTac last night where he could get a flight to Montana. My mom went with me and we both had white knuckles by the time we got home. I've never seen so many accidents on one stretch of freeway. So many that cops weren't even at them all yet. Cars from earlier accidents were just sitting in ditches waiting to be picked up. Today we ae NOT going out. :)
